| 1:1 Aconteció en los días de Asuero, el Asuero que reinó desde la India hasta Etiopía sobre ciento veintisiete provincias, |
Now it came to pass in the days of Ahasuerus, (this is Ahasuerus which reigned, from India even unto Ethiopia, over an hundred and seven and twenty provinces:) |
וַיְהִי בִּימֵי אֲחַשְׁוֵרֹושׁ הוּא אֲחַשְׁוֵרֹושׁ הַמֹּלֵךְ מֵהֹדּוּ וְעַד כּוּשׁ שֶׁבַע וְעֶשְׂרִים וּמֵאָה מְדִינָה |
| 1:2 que en aquellos días, cuando fue afirmado el rey Asuero sobre el trono de su reino, el cual estaba en Susa capital del reino, |
That in those days, when the king Ahasuerus sat on the throne of his kingdom, which was in Shushan the palace, |
בַּיָּמִים הָהֵם כְּשֶׁבֶת ׀ הַמֶּלֶךְ אֲחַשְׁוֵרֹושׁ עַל כִּסֵּא מַלְכוּתֹו אֲשֶׁר בְּשׁוּשַׁן הַבִּירָה |
| 1:3 en el tercer año de su reinado hizo banquete a todos sus príncipes y cortesanos, teniendo delante de él a los más poderosos de Persia y de Media, gobernadores y príncipes de provincias, |
In the third year of his reign, he made a feast unto all his princes and his servants; the power of Persia and Media, the nobles and princes of the provinces, being before him: |
בִּשְׁנַת שָׁלֹושׁ לְמָלְכֹו עָשָׂה מִשְׁתֶּה לְכָל שָׂרָיו וַעֲבָדָיו חֵיל ׀ פָּרַס וּמָדַי הַפַּרְתְּמִים וְשָׂרֵי הַמְּדִינֹות לְפָנָיו |
| 1:4 para mostrar él las riquezas de la gloria de su reino, el brillo y la magnificencia de su poder, por muchos días, ciento ochenta días. |
When he shewed the riches of his glorious kingdom and the honour of his excellent majesty many days, even an hundred and fourscore days. |
בְּהַרְאֹתֹו אֶת עֹשֶׁר כְּבֹוד מַלְכוּתֹו וְאֶת יְקָר תִּפְאֶרֶת גְּדוּלָּתֹו יָמִים רַבִּים שְׁמֹונִים וּמְאַת יֹום |
| 1:5 Y cumplidos estos días, hizo el rey otro banquete por siete días en el patio del huerto del palacio real a todo el pueblo que había en Susa capital del reino, desde el mayor hasta el menor. |
And when these days were expired, the king made a feast unto all the people that were present in Shushan the palace, both unto great and small, seven days, in the court of the garden of the king's palace; |
וּבִמְלֹואת ׀ הַיָּמִים הָאֵלֶּה עָשָׂה הַמֶּלֶךְ לְכָל הָעָם הַנִּמְצְאִים בְּשׁוּשַׁן הַבִּירָה לְמִגָּדֹול וְעַד קָטָן מִשְׁתֶּה שִׁבְעַת יָמִים בַּחֲצַר גִּנַּת בִּיתַן הַמֶּלֶךְ |
| 1:6 El pabellón era de blanco, verde y azul, tendido sobre cuerdas de lino y púrpura en anillos de plata y columnas de mármol; los reclinatorios de oro y de plata, sobre losado de pórfido y de mármol, y de alabastro y de jacinto. |
Where were white, green, and blue, hangings, fastened with cords of fine linen and purple to silver rings and pillars of marble: the beds were of gold and silver, upon a pavement of red, and blue, and white, and black, marble. |
חוּר ׀ כַּרְפַּס וּתְכֵלֶת אָחוּז בְּחַבְלֵי בוּץ וְאַרְגָּמָן עַל גְּלִילֵי כֶסֶף וְעַמּוּדֵי שֵׁשׁ מִטֹּות ׀ זָהָב וָכֶסֶף עַל רִצְפַת בַּהַט וָשֵׁשׁ וְדַר וְסֹחָרֶת |
| 1:7 Y daban a beber en vasos de oro, y vasos diferentes unos de otros, y mucho vino real, de acuerdo con la generosidad del rey. |
And they gave them drink in vessels of gold, (the vessels being diverse one from another,) and royal wine in abundance, according to the state of the king. |
וְהַשְׁקֹות בִּכְלֵי זָהָב וְכֵלִים מִכֵּלִים שֹׁונִים וְיֵין מַלְכוּת רָב כְּיַד הַמֶּלֶךְ |
| 1:8 Y la bebida era según esta ley: Que nadie fuese obligado a beber; porque así lo había mandado el rey a todos los mayordomos de su casa, que se hiciese según la voluntad de cada uno. |
And the drinking was according to the law; none did compel: for so the king had appointed to all the officers of his house, that they should do according to every man's pleasure. |
וְהַשְּׁתִיָּה כַדָּת אֵין אֹנֵס כִּי כֵן ׀ יִסַּד הַמֶּלֶךְ עַל כָּל רַב בֵּיתֹו לַעֲשֹׂות כִּרְצֹון אִישׁ וָאִישׁ |
| 1:9 Asimismo la reina Vasti hizo banquete para las mujeres, en la casa real del rey Asuero. |
Also Vashti the queen made a feast for the women in the royal house which belonged to king Ahasuerus. |
גַּם וַשְׁתִּי הַמַּלְכָּה עָשְׂתָה מִשְׁתֵּה נָשִׁים בֵּית הַמַּלְכוּת אֲשֶׁר לַמֶּלֶךְ אֲחַשְׁוֵרֹושׁ ס |
| 1:10 El séptimo día, estando el corazón del rey alegre del vino, mandó a Mehumán, Bizta, Harbona, Bigta, Abagta, Zetar y Carcas, siete eunucos que servían delante del rey Asuero, |
On the seventh day, when the heart of the king was merry with wine, he commanded Mehuman, Biztha, Harbona, Bigtha, and Abagtha, Zethar, and Carcas, the seven chamberlains that served in the presence of Ahasuerus the king, |
בַּיֹּום הַשְּׁבִיעִי כְּטֹוב לֵב הַמֶּלֶךְ בַּיָּיִן אָמַר לִמְהוּמָן בִּזְּתָא חַרְבֹונָא בִּגְתָא וַאֲבַגְתָא זֵתַר וְכַרְכַּס שִׁבְעַת הַסָּרִיסִים הַמְשָׁרְתִים אֶת פְּנֵי הַמֶּלֶךְ אֲחַשְׁוֵרֹושׁ |
| 1:11 que trajesen a la reina Vasti a la presencia del rey con la corona regia, para mostrar a los pueblos y a los príncipes su belleza; porque era hermosa. |
To bring Vashti the queen before the king with the crown royal, to shew the people and the princes her beauty: for she was fair to look on. |
לְהָבִיא אֶת וַשְׁתִּי הַמַּלְכָּה לִפְנֵי הַמֶּלֶךְ בְּכֶתֶר מַלְכוּת לְהַרְאֹות הָעַמִּים וְהַשָּׂרִים אֶת יָפְיָהּ כִּי טֹובַת מַרְאֶה הִיא |
| 1:12 Mas la reina Vasti no quiso comparecer a la orden del rey enviada por medio de los eunucos; y el rey se enojó mucho, y se encendió en ira. |
But the queen Vashti refused to come at the king's commandment by his chamberlains: therefore was the king very wroth, and his anger burned in him. |
וַתְּמָאֵן הַמַּלְכָּה וַשְׁתִּי לָבֹוא בִּדְבַר הַמֶּלֶךְ אֲשֶׁר בְּיַד הַסָּרִיסִים וַיִּקְצֹף הַמֶּלֶךְ מְאֹד וַחֲמָתֹו בָּעֲרָה בֹו |
| 1:13 Preguntó entonces el rey a los sabios que conocían los tiempos (porque así acostumbraba el rey con todos los que sabían la ley y el derecho; |
Then the king said to the wise men, which knew the times, (for so was the king's manner toward all that knew law and judgment: |
וַיֹּאמֶר הַמֶּלֶךְ לַחֲכָמִים יֹדְעֵי הָעִתִּים כִּי כֵן דְּבַר הַמֶּלֶךְ לִפְנֵי כָּל יֹדְעֵי דָּת וָדִין |
| 1:14 y estaban junto a él Carsena, Setar, Admata, Tarsis, Meres, Marsena y Memucán, siete príncipes de Persia y de Media que veían la cara del rey, y se sentaban los primeros del reino); |
And the next unto him was Carshena, Shethar, Admatha, Tarshish, Meres, Marsena, and Memucan, the seven princes of Persia and Media, which saw the king's face, and which sat the first in the kingdom;) |
וְהַקָּרֹב אֵלָיו כַּרְשְׁנָא שֵׁתָר אַדְמָתָא תַרְשִׁישׁ מֶרֶס מַרְסְנָא מְמוּכָן שִׁבְעַת שָׂרֵי ׀ פָּרַס וּמָדַי רֹאֵי פְּנֵי הַמֶּלֶךְ הַיֹּשְׁבִים רִאשֹׁנָה בַּמַּלְכוּת |
| 1:15 les preguntó qué se había de hacer con la reina Vasti según la ley, por cuanto no había cumplido la orden del rey Asuero enviada por medio de los eunucos. |
What shall we do unto the queen Vashti according to law, because she hath not performed the commandment of the king Ahasuerus by the chamberlains? |
כְּדָת מַה לַּעֲשֹׂות בַּמַּלְכָּה וַשְׁתִּי עַל ׀ אֲשֶׁר לֹא עָשְׂתָה אֶת מַאֲמַר הַמֶּלֶךְ אֲחַשְׁוֵרֹושׁ בְּיַד הַסָּרִיסִים ס |
| 1:16 Y dijo Memucán delante del rey y de los príncipes: No solamente contra el rey ha pecado la reina Vasti, sino contra todos los príncipes, y contra todos los pueblos que hay en todas las provincias del rey Asuero. |
And Memucan answered before the king and the princes, Vashti the queen hath not done wrong to the king only, but also to all the princes, and to all the people that are in all the provinces of the king Ahasuerus. |
וַיֹּאמֶר [מוּמְכָן כ] (מְמוּכָן ק) לִפְנֵי הַמֶּלֶךְ וְהַשָּׂרִים לֹא עַל הַמֶּלֶךְ לְבַדֹּו עָוְתָה וַשְׁתִּי הַמַּלְכָּה כִּי עַל כָּל הַשָּׂרִים וְעַל כָּל הָעַמִּים אֲשֶׁר בְּכָל מְדִינֹות הַמֶּלֶךְ אֲחַשְׁוֵרֹושׁ |
| 1:17 Porque este hecho de la reina llegará a oídos de todas las mujeres, y ellas tendrán en poca estima a sus maridos, diciendo: El rey Asuero mandó traer delante de sí a la reina Vasti, y ella no vino. |
For this deed of the queen shall come abroad unto all women, so that they shall despise their husbands in their eyes, when it shall be reported, The king Ahasuerus commanded Vashti the queen to be brought in before him, but she came not. |
כִּי יֵצֵא דְבַר הַמַּלְכָּה עַל כָּל הַנָּשִׁים לְהַבְזֹות בַּעְלֵיהֶן בְּעֵינֵיהֶן בְּאָמְרָם הַמֶּלֶךְ אֲחַשְׁוֵרֹושׁ אָמַר לְהָבִיא אֶת וַשְׁתִּי הַמַּלְכָּה לְפָנָיו וְלֹא בָאָה |
| 1:18 Y entonces dirán esto las señoras de Persia y de Media que oigan el hecho de la reina, a todos los príncipes del rey; y habrá mucho menosprecio y enojo. |
Likewise shall the ladies of Persia and Media say this day unto all the king's princes, which have heard of the deed of the queen. Thus shall there arise too much contempt and wrath. |
וְהַיֹּום הַזֶּה תֹּאמַרְנָה ׀ שָׂרֹות פָּרַס וּמָדַי אֲשֶׁר שָׁמְעוּ אֶת דְּבַר הַמַּלְכָּה לְכֹל שָׂרֵי הַמֶּלֶךְ וּכְדַי בִּזָּיֹון וָקָצֶף |
| 1:19 Si parece bien al rey, salga un decreto real de vuestra majestad y se escriba entre las leyes de Persia y de Media, para que no sea quebrantado: Que Vasti no venga más delante del rey Asuero; y el rey haga reina a otra que sea mejor que ella. |
If it please the king, let there go a royal commandment from him, and let it be written among the laws of the Persians and the Medes, that it be not altered, That Vashti come no more before king Ahasuerus; and let the king give her royal estate unto another that is better than she. |
אִם עַל הַמֶּלֶךְ טֹוב יֵצֵא דְבַר מַלְכוּת מִלְּפָנָיו וְיִכָּתֵב בְּדָתֵי פָרַס וּמָדַי וְלֹא יַעֲבֹור אֲשֶׁר לֹא תָבֹוא וַשְׁתִּי לִפְנֵי הַמֶּלֶךְ אֲחַשְׁוֵרֹושׁ וּמַלְכוּתָהּ יִתֵּן הַמֶּלֶךְ לִרְעוּתָהּ הַטֹּובָה מִמֶּנָּה |
| 1:20 Y el decreto que dicte el rey será oído en todo su reino, aunque es grande, y todas las mujeres darán honra a sus maridos, desde el mayor hasta el menor. |
And when the king's decree which he shall make shall be published throughout all his empire, (for it is great,) all the wives shall give to their husbands honour, both to great and small. |
וְנִשְׁמַע פִּתְגָם הַמֶּלֶךְ אֲשֶׁר יַעֲשֶׂה בְּכָל מַלְכוּתֹו כִּי רַבָּה הִיא וְכָל הַנָּשִׁים יִתְּנוּ יְקָר לְבַעְלֵיהֶן לְמִגָּדֹול וְעַד קָטָן |
| 1:21 Agradó esta palabra a los ojos del rey y de los príncipes, e hizo el rey conforme al dicho de Memucán; |
And the saying pleased the king and the princes; and the king did according to the word of Memucan: |
וַיִּיטַב הַדָּבָר בְּעֵינֵי הַמֶּלֶךְ וְהַשָּׂרִים וַיַּעַשׂ הַמֶּלֶךְ כִּדְבַר מְמוּכָן |
| 1:22 pues envió cartas a todas las provincias del rey, a cada provincia conforme a su escritura, y a cada pueblo conforme a su lenguaje, diciendo que todo hombre afirmase su autoridad en su casa; y que se publicase esto en la lengua de su pueblo. |
For he sent letters into all the king's provinces, into every province according to the writing thereof, and to every people after their language, that every man should bear rule in his own house, and that it should be published according to the language of every people. |
וַיִּשְׁלַח סְפָרִים אֶל כָּל מְדִינֹות הַמֶּלֶךְ אֶל מְדִינָה וּמְדִינָה כִּכְתָבָהּ וְאֶל עַם וָעָם כִּלְשֹׁונֹו לִהְיֹות כָּל אִישׁ שֹׂרֵר בְּבֵיתֹו וּמְדַבֵּר כִּלְשֹׁון עַמֹּו פ |
| 2:1 Pasadas estas cosas, sosegada ya la ira del rey Asuero, se acordó de Vasti y de lo que ella había hecho, y de la sentencia contra ella. |
After these things, when the wrath of king Ahasuerus was appeased, he remembered Vashti, and what she had done, and what was decreed against her. |
אַחַר הַדְּבָרִים הָאֵלֶּה כְּשֹׁךְ חֲמַת הַמֶּלֶךְ אֲחַשְׁוֵרֹושׁ זָכַר אֶת־וַשְׁתִּי וְאֵת אֲשֶׁר־עָשָׂתָה וְאֵת אֲשֶׁר־נִגְזַר עָלֶיהָ׃ |
| 2:2 Y dijeron los criados del rey, sus cortesanos: Busquen para el rey jóvenes vírgenes de buen parecer; |
Then said the king's servants that ministered unto him, Let there be fair young virgins sought for the king: |
וַיֹּאמְרוּ נַעֲרֵי־הַמֶּלֶךְ מְשָׁרְתָיו יְבַקְשׁוּ לַמֶּלֶךְ נְעָרֹות בְּתוּלֹות טֹובֹות מַרְאֶה׃ |
| 2:3 y ponga el rey personas en todas las provincias de su reino, que lleven a todas las jóvenes vírgenes de buen parecer a Susa, residencia real, a la casa de las mujeres, al cuidado de Hegai eunuco del rey, guarda de las mujeres, y que les den sus atavíos; |
And let the king appoint officers in all the provinces of his kingdom, that they may gather together all the fair young virgins unto Shushan the palace, to the house of the women, unto the custody of Hege the king's chamberlain, keeper of the women; and let their things for purification be given them: |
וְיַפְקֵד הַמֶּלֶךְ פְּקִידִים בְּכָל־מְדִינֹות מַלְכוּתֹו וְיִקְבְּצוּ אֶת־כָּל־נַעֲרָה־בְתוּלָה טֹובַת מַרְאֶה אֶל־שׁוּשַׁן הַבִּירָה אֶל־בֵּית הַנָּשִׁים אֶל־יַד הֵגֶא סְרִיס הַמֶּלֶךְ שֹׁמֵר הַנָּשִׁים וְנָתֹון תַּמְרוּקֵיהֶן׃ |
| 2:4 y la doncella que agrade a los ojos del rey, reine en lugar de Vasti. Esto agradó a los ojos del rey, y lo hizo así. |
And let the maiden which pleaseth the king be queen instead of Vashti. And the thing pleased the king; and he did so. |
וְהַנַּעֲרָה אֲשֶׁר תִּיטַב בְּעֵינֵי הַמֶּלֶךְ תִּמְלֹךְ תַּחַת וַשְׁתִּי וַיִּיטַב הַדָּבָר בְּעֵינֵי הַמֶּלֶךְ וַיַּעַשׂ כֵּן׃ ס |
| 2:5 Había en Susa residencia real un varón judío cuyo nombre era Mardoqueo hijo de Jair, hijo de Simei, hijo de Cis, del linaje de Benjamín; |
Now in Shushan the palace there was a certain Jew, whose name was Mordecai, the son of Jair, the son of Shimei, the son of Kish, a Benjamite; |
אִישׁ יְהוּדִי הָיָה בְּשׁוּשַׁן הַבִּירָה וּשְׁמֹו מָרְדֳּכַי בֶּן יָאִיר בֶּן־שִׁמְעִי בֶּן־קִישׁ אִישׁ יְמִינִי׃ |
| 2:6 el cual había sido transportado de Jerusalén con los cautivos que fueron llevados con Jeconías rey de Judá, a quien hizo transportar Nabucodonosor rey de Babilonia. |
Who had been carried away from Jerusalem with the captivity which had been carried away with Jeconiah king of Judah, whom Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon had carried away. |
אֲשֶׁר הָגְלָה מִירוּשָׁלַיִם עִם־הַגֹּלָה אֲשֶׁר הָגְלְתָה עִם יְכָנְיָה מֶלֶךְ־יְהוּדָה אֲשֶׁר הֶגְלָה נְבוּכַדְנֶאצַּר מֶלֶךְ בָּבֶל׃ |
| 2:7 Y había criado a Hadasa, es decir, Ester, hija de su tío, porque era húerfana; y la joven era de hermosa figura y de buen parecer. Cuando su padre y su madre murieron, Mardoqueo la adoptó como hija suya. |
And he brought up Hadassah, that is, Esther, his uncle's daughter: for she had neither father nor mother, and the maid was fair and beautiful; whom Mordecai, when her father and mother were dead, took for his own daughter. |
וַיְהִי אֹמֵן אֶת־הֲדַסָּה הִיא אֶסְתֵּר בַּת־דֹּדֹו כִּי אֵין לָהּ אָב וָאֵם וְהַנַּעֲרָה יְפַת־תֹּאַר וְטֹובַת מַרְאֶה וּבְמֹות אָבִיהָ וְאִמָּהּ לְקָחָהּ מָרְדֳּכַי לֹו לְבַת׃ |
| 2:8 Sucedió, pues, que cuando se divulgó el mandamiento y decreto del rey, y habían reunido a muchas doncellas en Susa residencia real, a cargo de Hegai, Ester también fue llevada a la casa del rey, al cuidado de Hegai guarda de las mujeres. |
So it came to pass, when the king's commandment and his decree was heard, and when many maidens were gathered together unto Shushan the palace, to the custody of Hegai, that Esther was brought also unto the king's house, to the custody of Hegai, keeper of the women. |
וַיְהִי בְּהִשָּׁמַע דְּבַר־הַמֶּלֶךְ וְדָתֹו וּבְהִקָּבֵץ נְעָרֹות רַבֹּות אֶל־שׁוּשַׁן הַבִּירָה אֶל־יַד הֵגָי וַתִּלָּקַח אֶסְתֵּר אֶל־בֵּית הַמֶּלֶךְ אֶל־יַד הֵגַי שֹׁמֵר הַנָּשִׁים׃ |
| 2:9 Y la doncella agradó a sus ojos, y halló gracia delante de él, por lo que hizo darle prontamente atavíos y alimentos, y le dio también siete doncellas especiales de la casa del rey; y la llevó con sus doncellas a lo mejor de la casa de las mujeres. |
And the maiden pleased him, and she obtained kindness of him; and he speedily gave her her things for purification, with such things as belonged to her, and seven maidens, which were meet to be given her, out of the king's house: and he preferred her and her maids unto the best place of the house of the women. |
וַתִּיטַב הַנַּעֲרָה בְעֵינָיו וַתִּשָּׂא חֶסֶד לְפָנָיו וַיְבַהֵל אֶת־תַּמְרוּקֶיהָ וְאֶת־מָנֹותֶהָ לָתֵת לָהּ וְאֵת שֶׁבַע הַנְּעָרֹות הָרְאֻיֹות לָתֶת־לָהּ מִבֵּית הַמֶּלֶךְ וַיְשַׁנֶּהָ וְאֶת־נַעֲרֹותֶיהָ לְטֹוב בֵּית הַנָּשִׁים׃ |
| 2:10 Ester no declaró cuál era su pueblo ni su parentela, porque Mardoqueo le había mandado que no lo declarase. |
Esther had not shewed her people nor her kindred: for Mordecai had charged her that she should not shew it. |
לֹא־הִגִּידָה אֶסְתֵּר אֶת־עַמָּהּ וְאֶת־מֹולַדְתָּהּ כִּי מָרְדֳּכַי צִוָּה עָלֶיהָ אֲשֶׁר לֹא־תַגִּיד׃ |
| 2:11 Y cada día Mardoqueo se paseaba delante del patio de la casa de las mujeres, para saber cómo le iba a Ester, y cómo la trataban. |
And Mordecai walked every day before the court of the women's house, to know how Esther did, and what should become of her. |
וּבְכָל־יֹום וָיֹום מָרְדֳּכַי מִתְהַלֵּךְ לִפְנֵי חֲצַר בֵּית־הַנָּשִׁים לָדַעַת אֶת־שְׁלֹום אֶסְתֵּר וּמַה־יֵּעָשֶׂה בָּהּ׃ |
| 2:12 Y cuando llegaba el tiempo de cada una de las doncellas para venir al rey Asuero, después de haber estado doce meses conforme a la ley acerca de las mujeres, pues así se cumplía el tiempo de sus atavíos, esto es, seis meses con óleo de mirra y seis meses con perfumes aromáticos y afeites de mujeres, |
Now when every maid's turn was come to go in to king Ahasuerus, after that she had been twelve months, according to the manner of the women, (for so were the days of their purifications accomplished, to wit, six months with oil of myrrh, and six months with sweet odours, and with other things for the purifying of the women;) |
וּבְהַגִּיעַ תֹּר נַעֲרָה וְנַעֲרָה לָבֹוא ׀ אֶל־הַמֶּלֶךְ אֲחַשְׁוֵרֹושׁ מִקֵּץ הֱיֹות לָהּ כְּדָת הַנָּשִׁים שְׁנֵים עָשָׂר חֹדֶשׁ כִּי כֵּן יִמְלְאוּ יְמֵי מְרוּקֵיהֶן שִׁשָּׁה חֳדָשִׁים בְּשֶׁמֶן הַמֹּר וְשִׁשָּׁה חֳדָשִׁים בַּבְּשָׂמִים וּבְתַמְרוּקֵי הַנָּשִׁים׃ |
| 2:13 entonces la doncella venía así al rey. Todo lo que ella pedía se le daba, para venir ataviada con ello desde la casa de las mujeres hasta la casa del rey. |
Then thus came every maiden unto the king; whatsoever she desired was given her to go with her out of the house of the women unto the king's house. |
וּבָזֶה הַנַּעֲרָה בָּאָה אֶל־הַמֶּלֶךְ אֵת כָּל־אֲשֶׁר תֹּאמַר יִנָּתֵן לָהּ לָבֹוא עִמָּהּ מִבֵּית הַנָּשִׁים עַד־בֵּית הַמֶּלֶךְ׃ |
| 2:14 Ella venía por la tarde, y a la mañana siguiente volvía a la casa segunda de las mujeres, al cargo de Saasgaz eunuco del rey, guarda de las concubinas; no venía más al rey, salvo si el rey la quería y era llamada por nombre. |
In the evening she went, and on the morrow she returned into the second house of the women, to the custody of Shaashgaz, the king's chamberlain, which kept the concubines: she came in unto the king no more, except the king delighted in her, and that she were called by name. |
בָּעֶרֶב ׀ הִיא בָאָה וּבַבֹּקֶר הִיא שָׁבָה אֶל־בֵּית הַנָּשִׁים שֵׁנִי אֶל־יַד שַׁעֲשְׁגַז סְרִיס הַמֶּלֶךְ שֹׁמֵר הַפִּילַגְשִׁים לֹא־תָבֹוא עֹוד אֶל־הַמֶּלֶךְ כִּי אִם־חָפֵץ בָּהּ הַמֶּלֶךְ וְנִקְרְאָה בְשֵׁם׃ |
| 2:15 Cuando le llegó a Ester, hija de Abihail tío de Mardoqueo, quien la había tomado por hija, el tiempo de venir al rey, ninguna cosa procuró sino lo que dijo Hegai eunuco del rey, guarda de las mujeres; y ganaba Ester el favor de todos los que la veían. |
Now when the turn of Esther, the daughter of Abihail the uncle of Mordecai, who had taken her for his daughter, was come to go in unto the king, she required nothing but what Hegai the king's chamberlain, the keeper of the women, appointed. And Esther obtained favour in the sight of all them that looked upon her. |
וּבְהַגִּיעַ תֹּר־אֶסְתֵּר בַּת־אֲבִיחַיִל דֹּד מָרְדֳּכַי אֲשֶׁר לָקַח־לֹו לְבַת לָבֹוא אֶל־הַמֶּלֶךְ לֹא בִקְשָׁה דָּבָר כִּי אִם אֶת־אֲשֶׁר יֹאמַר הֵגַי סְרִיס־הַמֶּלֶךְ שֹׁמֵר הַנָּשִׁים וַתְּהִי אֶסְתֵּר נֹשֵׂאת חֵן בְּעֵינֵי כָּל־רֹאֶיהָ׃ |
| 2:16 Fue, pues, Ester llevada al rey Asuero a su casa real en el mes décimo, que es el mes de Tebet, en el año séptimo de su reinado. |
So Esther was taken unto king Ahasuerus into his house royal in the tenth month, which is the month Tebeth, in the seventh year of his reign. |
וַתִּלָּקַח אֶסְתֵּר אֶל־הַמֶּלֶךְ אֲחַשְׁוֵרֹושׁ אֶל־בֵּית מַלְכוּתֹו בַּחֹדֶשׁ הָעֲשִׂירִי הוּא־חֹדֶשׁ טֵבֵת בִּשְׁנַת־שֶׁבַע לְמַלְכוּתֹו׃ |
| 2:17 Y el rey amó a Ester más que a todas las otras mujeres, y halló ella gracia y benevolencia delante de él más que todas las demás vírgenes; y puso la corona real en su cabeza, y la hizo reina en lugar de Vasti. |
And the king loved Esther above all the women, and she obtained grace and favour in his sight more than all the virgins; so that he set the royal crown upon her head, and made her queen instead of Vashti. |
וַיֶּאֱהַב הַמֶּלֶךְ אֶת־אֶסְתֵּר מִכָּל־הַנָּשִׁים וַתִּשָּׂא־חֵן וָחֶסֶד לְפָנָיו מִכָּל־הַבְּתוּלֹת וַיָּשֶׂם כֶּתֶר־מַלְכוּת בְּרֹאשָׁהּ וַיַּמְלִיכֶהָ תַּחַת וַשְׁתִּי׃ |
| 2:18 Hizo luego el rey un gran banquete a todos sus príncipes y siervos, el banquete de Ester; y disminuyó tributos a las provincias, e hizo y dio mercedes conforme a la generosidad real. |
Then the king made a great feast unto all his princes and his servants, even Esther's feast; and he made a release to the provinces, and gave gifts, according to the state of the king. |
וַיַּעַשׂ הַמֶּלֶךְ מִשְׁתֶּה גָדֹול לְכָל־שָׂרָיו וַעֲבָדָיו אֵת מִשְׁתֵּה אֶסְתֵּר וַהֲנָחָה לַמְּדִינֹות עָשָׂה וַיִּתֵּן מַשְׂאֵת כְּיַד הַמֶּלֶךְ׃ |
| 2:19 Cuando las vírgenes eran reunidas la segunda vez, Mardoqueo estaba sentado a la puerta del rey. |
And when the virgins were gathered together the second time, then Mordecai sat in the king's gate. |
וּבְהִקָּבֵץ בְּתוּלֹות שֵׁנִית וּמָרְדֳּכַי יֹשֵׁב בְּשַׁעַר־הַמֶּלֶךְ׃ |
| 2:20 Y Ester, según le había mandado Mardoqueo, no había declarado su nación ni su pueblo; porque Ester hacía lo que decía Mardoqueo, como cuando él la educaba. |
Esther had not yet shewed her kindred nor her people; as Mordecai had charged her: for Esther did the commandment of Mordecai, like as when she was brought up with him. |
אֵין אֶסְתֵּר מַגֶּדֶת מֹולַדְתָּהּ וְאֶת־עַמָּהּ כַּאֲשֶׁר צִוָּה עָלֶיהָ מָרְדֳּכָי וְאֶת־מַאֲמַר מָרְדֳּכַי אֶסְתֵּר עֹשָׂה כַּאֲשֶׁר הָיְתָה בְאָמְנָה אִתֹּו׃ ס |
| 2:21 En aquellos días, estando Mardoqueo sentado a la puerta del rey, se enojaron Bigtán y Teres, dos eunucos del rey, de la guardia de la puerta, y procuraban poner mano en el rey Asuero. |
In those days, while Mordecai sat in the king's gate, two of the king's chamberlains, Bigthan and Teresh, of those which kept the door, were wroth, and sought to lay hand on the king Ahasuerus. |
בַּיָּמִים הָהֵם וּמָרְדֳּכַי יֹשֵׁב בְּשַׁעַר־הַמֶּלֶךְ קָצַף בִּגְתָן וָתֶרֶשׁ שְׁנֵי־סָרִיסֵי הַמֶּלֶךְ מִשֹּׁמְרֵי הַסַּף וַיְבַקְשׁוּ לִשְׁלֹחַ יָד בַּמֶּלֶךְ אֲחַשְׁוֵרֹשׁ׃ |
| 2:22 Cuando Mardoqueo entendió esto, lo denunció a la reina Ester, y Ester lo dijo al rey en nombre de Mardoqueo. |
And the thing was known to Mordecai, who told it unto Esther the queen; and Esther certified the king thereof in Mordecai's name. |
וַיִּוָּדַע הַדָּבָר לְמָרְדֳּכַי וַיַּגֵּד לְאֶסְתֵּר הַמַּלְכָּה וַתֹּאמֶר אֶסְתֵּר לַמֶּלֶךְ בְּשֵׁם מָרְדֳּכָי׃ |
| 2:23 Se hizo investigación del asunto, y fue hallado cierto; por tanto, los dos eunucos fueron colgados en una horca. Y fue escrito el caso en el libro de las crónicas del rey. |
And when inquisition was made of the matter, it was found out; therefore they were both hanged on a tree: and it was written in the book of the chronicles before the king. |
וַיְבֻקַּשׁ הַדָּבָר וַיִּמָּצֵא וַיִּתָּלוּ שְׁנֵיהֶם עַל־עֵץ וַיִּכָּתֵב בְּסֵפֶר דִּבְרֵי הַיָּמִים לִפְנֵי הַמֶּלֶךְ׃ פ |
| 3:1 Después de estas cosas el rey Asuero engrandeció a Amán hijo de Hamedata agagueo, y lo honró, y puso su silla sobre todos los príncipes que estaban con él. |
After these things did king Ahasuerus promote Haman the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, and advanced him, and set his seat above all the princes that were with him. |
אַחַר ׀ הַדְּבָרִים הָאֵלֶּה גִּדַּל הַמֶּלֶךְ אֲחַשְׁוֵרֹושׁ אֶת־הָמָן בֶּן־הַמְּדָתָא הָאֲגָגִי וַיְנַשְּׂאֵהוּ וַיָּשֶׂם אֶת־כִּסְאֹו מֵעַל כָּל־הַשָּׂרִים אֲשֶׁר אִתֹּו׃ |
| 3:2 Y todos los siervos del rey que estaban a la puerta del rey se arrodillaban y se inclinaban ante Amán, porque así lo había mandado el rey; pero Mardoqueo ni se arrodillaba ni se humillaba. |
And all the king's servants, that were in the king's gate, bowed, and reverenced Haman: for the king had so commanded concerning him. But Mordecai bowed not, nor did him reverence. |
וְכָל־עַבְדֵי הַמֶּלֶךְ אֲשֶׁר־בְּשַׁעַר הַמֶּלֶךְ כֹּרְעִים וּמִשְׁתַּחֲוִים לְהָמָן כִּי־כֵן צִוָּה־לֹו הַמֶּלֶךְ וּמָרְדֳּכַי לֹא יִכְרַע וְלֹא יִשְׁתַּחֲוֶה׃ |
| 3:3 Y los siervos del rey que estaban a la puerta preguntaron a Mardoqueo: ¿Por qué traspasas el mandamiento del rey? |
Then the king's servants, which were in the king's gate, said unto Mordecai, Why transgressest thou the king's commandment? |
וַיֹּאמְרוּ עַבְדֵי הַמֶּלֶךְ אֲשֶׁר־בְּשַׁעַר הַמֶּלֶךְ לְמָרְדֳּכָי מַדּוּעַ אַתָּה עֹובֵר אֵת מִצְוַת הַמֶּלֶךְ׃ |
| 3:4 Aconteció que hablándole cada día de esta manera, y no escuchándolos él, lo denunciaron a Amán, para ver si Mardoqueo se mantendría firme en su dicho; porque ya él les había declarado que era judío. |
Now it came to pass, when they spake daily unto him, and he hearkened not unto them, that they told Haman, to see whether Mordecai's matters would stand: for he had told them that he was a Jew. |
וַיְהִי [בְּאָמְרָם כ] (כְּאָמְרָם ק) אֵלָיו יֹום וָיֹום וְלֹא שָׁמַע אֲלֵיהֶם וַיַּגִּידוּ לְהָמָן לִרְאֹות הֲיַעַמְדוּ דִּבְרֵי מָרְדֳּכַי כִּי־הִגִּיד לָהֶם אֲשֶׁר־הוּא יְהוּדִי׃ |
| 3:5 Y vio Amán que Mardoqueo ni se arrodillaba ni se humillaba delante de él; y se llenó de ira. |
And when Haman saw that Mordecai bowed not, nor did him reverence, then was Haman full of wrath. |
וַיַּרְא הָמָן כִּי־אֵין מָרְדֳּכַי כֹּרֵעַ וּמִשְׁתַּחֲוֶה לֹו וַיִּמָּלֵא הָמָן חֵמָה׃ |
| 3:6 Pero tuvo en poco poner mano en Mardoqueo solamente, pues ya le habían declarado cuál era el pueblo de Mardoqueo; y procuró Amán destruir a todos los judíos que había en el reino de Asuero, al pueblo de Mardoqueo. |
And he thought scorn to lay hands on Mordecai alone; for they had shewed him the people of Mordecai: wherefore Haman sought to destroy all the Jews that were throughout the whole kingdom of Ahasuerus, even the people of Mordecai. |
וַיִּבֶז בְּעֵינָיו לִשְׁלֹח יָד בְּמָרְדֳּכַי לְבַדֹּו כִּי־הִגִּידוּ לֹו אֶת־עַם מָרְדֳּכָי וַיְבַקֵּשׁ הָמָן לְהַשְׁמִיד אֶת־כָּל־הַיְּהוּדִים אֲשֶׁר בְּכָל־מַלְכוּת אֲחַשְׁוֵרֹושׁ עַם מָרְדֳּכָי׃ |
| 3:7 En el mes primero, que es el mes de Nisán, en el año duodécimo del rey Asuero, fue echada Pur, esto es, la suerte, delante de Amán, suerte para cada día y cada mes del año; y salió el mes duodécimo, que es el mes de Adar. |
In the first month, that is, the month Nisan, in the twelfth year of king Ahasuerus, they cast Pur, that is, the lot, before Haman from day to day, and from month to month, to the twelfth month, that is, the month Adar. |
בַּחֹדֶשׁ הָרִאשֹׁון הוּא־חֹדֶשׁ נִיסָן בִּשְׁנַת שְׁתֵּים עֶשְׂרֵה לַמֶּלֶךְ אֲחַשְׁוֵרֹושׁ הִפִּיל פּוּר הוּא הַגֹּורָל לִפְנֵי הָמָן מִיֹּום ׀ לְיֹום וּמֵחֹדֶשׁ לְחֹדֶשׁ שְׁנֵים־עָשָׂר הוּא־חֹדֶשׁ אֲדָר׃ ס |
| 3:8 Y dijo Amán al rey Asuero: Hay un pueblo esparcido y distribuido entre los pueblos en todas las provincias de tu reino, y sus leyes son diferentes de las de todo pueblo, y no guardan las leyes del rey, y al rey nada le beneficia el dejarlos vivir. |
And Haman said unto king Ahasuerus, There is a certain people scattered abroad and dispersed among the people in all the provinces of thy kingdom; and their laws are diverse from all people; neither keep they the king's laws: therefore it is not for the king's profit to suffer them. |
וַיֹּאמֶר הָמָן לַמֶּלֶךְ אֲחַשְׁוֵרֹושׁ יֶשְׁנֹו עַם־אֶחָד מְפֻזָּר וּמְפֹרָד בֵּין הָעַמִּים בְּכֹל מְדִינֹות מַלְכוּתֶךָ וְדָתֵיהֶם שֹׁנֹות מִכָּל־עָם וְאֶת־דָּתֵי הַמֶּלֶךְ אֵינָם עֹשִׂים וְלַמֶּלֶךְ אֵין־שֹׁוֶה לְהַנִּיחָם׃ |
| 3:9 Si place al rey, decrete que sean destruidos; y yo pesaré diez mil talentos de plata a los que manejan la hacienda, para que sean traídos a los tesoros del rey. |
If it please the king, let it be written that they may be destroyed: and I will pay ten thousand talents of silver to the hands of those that have the charge of the business, to bring it into the king's treasuries. |
אִם־עַל־הַמֶּלֶךְ טֹוב יִכָּתֵב לְאַבְּדָם וַעֲשֶׂרֶת אֲלָפִים כִּכַּר־כֶּסֶף אֶשְׁקֹול עַל־יְדֵי עֹשֵׂי הַמְּלָאכָה לְהָבִיא אֶל־גִּנְזֵי הַמֶּלֶךְ׃ |
| 3:10 Entonces el rey quitó el anillo de su mano, y lo dio a Amán hijo de Hamedata agagueo, enemigo de los judíos, |
And the king took his ring from his hand, and gave it unto Haman the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, the Jews' enemy. |
וַיָּסַר הַמֶּלֶךְ אֶת־טַבַּעְתֹּו מֵעַל יָדֹו וַיִּתְּנָהּ לְהָמָן בֶּן־הַמְּדָתָא הָאֲגָגִי צֹרֵר הַיְּהוּדִים׃ |
| 3:11 y le dijo: La plata que ofreces sea para ti, y asimismo el pueblo, para que hagas de él lo que bien te pareciere. |
And the king said unto Haman, The silver is given to thee, the people also, to do with them as it seemeth good to thee. |
וַיֹּאמֶר הַמֶּלֶךְ לְהָמָן הַכֶּסֶף נָתוּן לָךְ וְהָעָם לַעֲשֹׂות בֹּו כַּטֹּוב בְּעֵינֶיךָ׃ |
| 3:12 Entonces fueron llamados los escribanos del rey en el mes primero, al día trece del mismo, y fue escrito conforme a todo lo que mandó Amán, a los sátrapas del rey, a los capitanes que estaban sobre cada provincia y a los príncipes de cada pueblo, a cada provincia según su escritura, y a cada pueblo según su lengua; en nombre del rey Asuero fue escrito, y sellado con el anillo del rey. |
Then were the king's scribes called on the thirteenth day of the first month, and there was written according to all that Haman had commanded unto the king's lieutenants, and to the governors that were over every province, and to the rulers of every people of every province according to the writing thereof, and to every people after their language; in the name of king Ahasuerus was it written, and sealed with the king's ring. |
וַיִּקָּרְאוּ סֹפְרֵי הַמֶּלֶךְ בַּחֹדֶשׁ הָרִאשֹׁון בִּשְׁלֹושָׁה עָשָׂר יֹום בֹּו וַיִּכָּתֵב כְּכָל־אֲשֶׁר־צִוָּה הָמָן אֶל אֲחַשְׁדַּרְפְּנֵי־הַמֶּלֶךְ וְאֶל־הַפַּחֹות אֲשֶׁר ׀ עַל־מְדִינָה וּמְדִינָה וְאֶל־שָׂרֵי עַם וָעָם מְדִינָה וּמְדִינָה כִּכְתָבָהּ וְעַם וָעָם כִּלְשֹׁונֹו בְּשֵׁם הַמֶּלֶךְ אֲחַשְׁוֵרֹשׁ נִכְתָּב וְנֶחְתָּם בְּטַבַּעַת הַמֶּלֶךְ׃ |
| 3:13 Y fueron enviadas cartas por medio de correos a todas las provincias del rey, con la orden de destruir, matar y exterminar a todos los judíos, jóvenes y ancianos, niños y mujeres, en un mismo día, en el día trece del mes duodécimo, que es el mes de Adar, y de apoderarse de sus bienes. |
And the letters were sent by posts into all the king's provinces, to destroy, to kill, and to cause to perish, all Jews, both young and old, little children and women, in one day, even upon the thirteenth day of the twelfth month, which is the month Adar, and to take the spoil of them for a prey. |
וְנִשְׁלֹוחַ סְפָרִים בְּיַד הָרָצִים אֶל־כָּל־מְדִינֹות הַמֶּלֶךְ לְהַשְׁמִיד לַהֲרֹג וּלְאַבֵּד אֶת־כָּל־הַיְּהוּדִים מִנַּעַר וְעַד־זָקֵן טַף וְנָשִׁים בְּיֹום אֶחָד בִּשְׁלֹושָׁה עָשָׂר לְחֹדֶשׁ שְׁנֵים־עָשָׂר הוּא־חֹדֶשׁ אֲדָר וּשְׁלָלָם לָבֹוז׃ |
| 3:14 La copia del escrito que se dio por mandamiento en cada provincia fue publicada a todos los pueblos, a fin de que estuviesen listos para aquel día. |
The copy of the writing for a commandment to be given in every province was published unto all people, that they should be ready against that day. |
פַּתְשֶׁגֶן הַכְּתָב לְהִנָּתֵן דָּת בְּכָל־מְדִינָה וּמְדִינָה גָּלוּי לְכָל־הָעַמִּים לִהְיֹות עֲתִדִים לַיֹּום הַזֶּה׃ |
| 3:15 Y salieron los correos prontamente por mandato del rey, y el edicto fue dado en Susa capital del reino. Y el rey y Amán se sentaron a beber; pero la ciudad de Susa estaba conmovida. |
The posts went out, being hastened by the king's commandment, and the decree was given in Shushan the palace. And the king and Haman sat down to drink; but the city Shushan was perplexed. |
הָרָצִים יָצְאוּ דְחוּפִים בִּדְבַר הַמֶּלֶךְ וְהַדָּת נִתְּנָה בְּשׁוּשַׁן הַבִּירָה וְהַמֶּלֶךְ וְהָמָן יָשְׁבוּ לִשְׁתֹּות וְהָעִיר שׁוּשָׁן נָבֹוכָה׃ פ |
| 4:1 Luego que supo Mardoqueo todo lo que se había hecho, rasgó sus vestidos, se vistió de cilicio y de ceniza, y se fue por la ciudad clamando con grande y amargo clamor. |
When Mordecai perceived all that was done, Mordecai rent his clothes, and put on sackcloth with ashes, and went out into the midst of the city, and cried with a loud and a bitter cry; |
וּמָרְדֳּכַי יָדַע אֶת־כָּל־אֲשֶׁר נַעֲשָׂה וַיִּקְרַע מָרְדֳּכַי אֶת־בְּגָדָיו וַיִּלְבַּשׁ שַׂק וָאֵפֶר וַיֵּצֵא בְּתֹוךְ הָעִיר וַיִּזְעַק זְעָקָה גְדֹלָה וּמָרָה׃ |
| 4:2 Y vino hasta delante de la puerta del rey; pues no era lícito pasar adentro de la puerta del rey con vestido de cilicio. |
And came even before the king's gate: for none might enter into the king's gate clothed with sackcloth. |
וַיָּבֹוא עַד לִפְנֵי שַׁעַר־הַמֶּלֶךְ כִּי אֵין לָבֹוא אֶל־שַׁעַר הַמֶּלֶךְ בִּלְבוּשׁ שָׂק׃ |
| 4:3 Y en cada provincia y lugar donde el mandamiento del rey y su decreto llegaba, tenían los judíos gran luto, ayuno, lloro y lamentación; cilicio y ceniza era la cama de muchos. |
And in every province, whithersoever the king's commandment and his decree came, there was great mourning among the Jews, and fasting, and weeping, and wailing; and many lay in sackcloth and ashes. |
וּבְכָל־מְדִינָה וּמְדִינָה מְקֹום אֲשֶׁר דְּבַר־הַמֶּלֶךְ וְדָתֹו מַגִּיעַ אֵבֶל גָּדֹול לַיְּהוּדִים וְצֹום וּבְכִי וּמִסְפֵּד שַׂק וָאֵפֶר יֻצַּע לָרַבִּים׃ |
| 4:4 Y vinieron las doncellas de Ester, y sus eunucos, y se lo dijeron. Entonces la reina tuvo gran dolor, y envió vestidos para hacer vestir a Mardoqueo, y hacerle quitar el cilicio; mas él no los aceptó. |
So Esther's maids and her chamberlains came and told it her. Then was the queen exceedingly grieved; and she sent raiment to clothe Mordecai, and to take away his sackcloth from him: but he received it not. |
[וַתְּבֹואֶינָה כ] (וַתָּבֹואנָה ק) נַעֲרֹות אֶסְתֵּר וְסָרִיסֶיהָ וַיַּגִּידוּ לָהּ וַתִּתְחַלְחַל הַמַּלְכָּה מְאֹד וַתִּשְׁלַח בְּגָדִים לְהַלְבִּישׁ אֶת־מָרְדֳּכַי וּלְהָסִיר שַׂקֹּו מֵעָלָיו וְלֹא קִבֵּל׃ |
| 4:5 Entonces Ester llamó a Hatac, uno de los eunucos del rey, que él había puesto al servicio de ella, y lo mandó a Mardoqueo, con orden de saber qué sucedía, y por qué estaba así. |
Then called Esther for Hatach, one of the king's chamberlains, whom he had appointed to attend upon her, and gave him a commandment to Mordecai, to know what it was, and why it was. |
וַתִּקְרָא אֶסְתֵּר לַהֲתָךְ מִסָּרִיסֵי הַמֶּלֶךְ אֲשֶׁר הֶעֱמִיד לְפָנֶיהָ וַתְּצַוֵּהוּ עַל־מָרְדֳּכָי לָדַעַת מַה־זֶּה וְעַל־מַה־זֶּה׃ |
| 4:6 Salió, pues, Hatac a ver a Mardoqueo, a la plaza de la ciudad, que estaba delante de la puerta del rey. |
So Hatach went forth to Mordecai unto the street of the city, which was before the king's gate. |
וַיֵּצֵא הֲתָךְ אֶל־מָרְדֳּכָי אֶל־רְחֹוב הָעִיר אֲשֶׁר לִפְנֵי שַׁעַר־הַמֶּלֶךְ׃ |
| 4:7 Y Mardoqueo le declaró todo lo que le había acontecido, y le dio noticia de la plata que Amán había dicho que pesaría para los tesoros del rey a cambio de la destrucción de los judíos. |
And Mordecai told him of all that had happened unto him, and of the sum of the money that Haman had promised to pay to the king's treasuries for the Jews, to destroy them. |
וַיַּגֶּד־לֹו מָרְדֳּכַי אֵת כָּל־אֲשֶׁר קָרָהוּ וְאֵת ׀ פָּרָשַׁת הַכֶּסֶף אֲשֶׁר אָמַר הָמָן לִשְׁקֹול עַל־גִּנְזֵי הַמֶּלֶךְ [בַּיְּהוּדִיִּים כ] (בַּיְּהוּדִים ק) לְאַבְּדָם׃ |
| 4:8 Le dio también la copia del decreto que había sido dado en Susa para que fuesen destruidos, a fin de que la mostrase a Ester y se lo declarase, y le encargara que fuese ante el rey a suplicarle y a interceder delante de él por su pueblo. |
Also he gave him the copy of the writing of the decree that was given at Shushan to destroy them, to shew it unto Esther, and to declare it unto her, and to charge her that she should go in unto the king, to make supplication unto him, and to make request before him for her people. |
וְאֶת־פַּתְשֶׁגֶן כְּתָב־הַדָּת אֲשֶׁר־נִתַּן בְּשׁוּשָׁן לְהַשְׁמִידָם נָתַן לֹו לְהַרְאֹות אֶת־אֶסְתֵּר וּלְהַגִּיד לָהּ וּלְצַוֹּות עָלֶיהָ לָבֹוא אֶל־הַמֶּלֶךְ לְהִתְחַנֶּן־לֹו וּלְבַקֵּשׁ מִלְּפָנָיו עַל־עַמָּהּ׃ |
| 4:9 Vino Hatac y contó a Ester las palabras de Mardoqueo. |
And Hatach came and told Esther the words of Mordecai. |
וַיָּבֹוא הֲתָךְ וַיַּגֵּד לְאֶסְתֵּר אֵת דִּבְרֵי מָרְדֳּכָי׃ |
| 4:10 Entonces Ester dijo a Hatac que le dijese a Mardoqueo: |
Again Esther spake unto Hatach, and gave him commandment unto Mordecai; |
וַתֹּאמֶר אֶסְתֵּר לַהֲתָךְ וַתְּצַוֵּהוּ אֶל־מָרְדֳּכָי׃ |
| 4:11 Todos los siervos del rey, y el pueblo de las provincias del rey, saben que cualquier hombre o mujer que entra en el patio interior para ver al rey, sin ser llamado, una sola ley hay respecto a él: ha de morir; salvo aquel a quien el rey extendiere el cetro de oro, el cual vivirá; y yo no he sido llamada para ver al rey estos treinta días. |
All the king's servants, and the people of the king's provinces, do know, that whosoever, whether man or woman, shall come unto the king into the inner court, who is not called, there is one law of his to put him to death, except such to whom the king shall hold out the golden sceptre, that he may live: but I have not been called to come in unto the king these thirty days. |
כָּל־עַבְדֵי הַמֶּלֶךְ וְעַם־מְדִינֹות הַמֶּלֶךְ יֹודְעִים אֲשֶׁר כָּל־אִישׁ וְאִשָּׁה אֲשֶׁר יָבֹוא־אֶל־הַמֶּלֶךְ אֶל־הֶחָצֵר הַפְּנִימִית אֲשֶׁר לֹא־יִקָּרֵא אַחַת דָּתֹו לְהָמִית לְבַד מֵאֲשֶׁר יֹושִׁיט־לֹו הַמֶּלֶךְ אֶת־שַׁרְבִיט הַזָּהָב וְחָיָה וַאֲנִי לֹא נִקְרֵאתִי לָבֹוא אֶל־הַמֶּלֶךְ זֶה שְׁלֹושִׁים יֹום׃ |
| 4:12 Y dijeron a Mardoqueo las palabras de Ester. |
And they told to Mordecai Esther's words. |
וַיַּגִּידוּ לְמָרְדֳּכָי אֵת דִּבְרֵי אֶסְתֵּר׃ פ |
| 4:13 Entonces dijo Mardoqueo que respondiesen a Ester: No pienses que escaparás en la casa del rey más que cualquier otro judío. |
Then Mordecai commanded to answer Esther, Think not with thyself that thou shalt escape in the king's house, more than all the Jews. |
וַיֹּאמֶר מָרְדֳּכַי לְהָשִׁיב אֶל־אֶסְתֵּר אַל־תְּדַמִּי בְנַפְשֵׁךְ לְהִמָּלֵט בֵּית־הַמֶּלֶךְ מִכָּל־הַיְּהוּדִים׃ |
| 4:14 Porque si callas absolutamente en este tiempo, respiro y liberación vendrá de alguna otra parte para los judíos; mas tú y la casa de tu padre pereceréis. ¿Y quién sabe si para esta hora has llegado al reino? |
For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; but thou and thy father's house shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this? |
כִּי אִם־הַחֲרֵשׁ תַּחֲרִישִׁי בָּעֵת הַזֹּאת רֶוַח וְהַצָּלָה יַעֲמֹוד לַיְּהוּדִים מִמָּקֹום אַחֵר וְאַתְּ וּבֵית־אָבִיךְ תֹּאבֵדוּ וּמִי יֹודֵעַ אִם־לְעֵת כָּזֹאת הִגַּעַתְּ לַמַּלְכוּת׃ |
| 4:15 Y Ester dijo que respondiesen a Mardoqueo: |
Then Esther bade them return Mordecai this answer, |
וַתֹּאמֶר אֶסְתֵּר לְהָשִׁיב אֶל־מָרְדֳּכָי׃ |
| 4:16 Ve y reúne a todos los judíos que se hallan en Susa, y ayunad por mí, y no comáis ni bebáis en tres días, noche y día; yo también con mis doncellas ayunaré igualmente, y entonces entraré a ver al rey, aunque no sea conforme a la ley; y si perezco, que perezca. |
Go, gather together all the Jews that are present in Shushan, and fast ye for me, and neither eat nor drink three days, night or day: I also and my maidens will fast likewise; and so will I go in unto the king, which is not according to the law: and if I perish, I perish. |
לֵךְ כְּנֹוס אֶת־כָּל־הַיְּהוּדִים הַנִּמְצְאִים בְּשׁוּשָׁן וְצוּמוּ עָלַי וְאַל־תֹּאכְלוּ וְאַל־תִּשְׁתּוּ שְׁלֹשֶׁת יָמִים לַיְלָה וָיֹום גַּם־אֲנִי וְנַעֲרֹתַי אָצוּם כֵּן וּבְכֵן אָבֹוא אֶל־הַמֶּלֶךְ אֲשֶׁר לֹא־כַדָּת וְכַאֲשֶׁר אָבַדְתִּי אָבָדְתִּי׃ |
| 4:17 Entonces Mardoqueo fue, e hizo conforme a todo lo que le mandó Ester. |
So Mordecai went his way, and did according to all that Esther had commanded him. |
וַיַּעֲבֹר מָרְדֳּכָי וַיַּעַשׂ כְּכֹל אֲשֶׁר־צִוְּתָה עָלָיו אֶסְתֵּר׃ ס |
| 5:1 Aconteció que al tercer día se vistió Ester su vestido real, y entró en el patio interior de la casa del rey, enfrente del aposento del rey; y estaba el rey sentado en su trono en el aposento real, enfrente de la puerta del aposento. |
Now it came to pass on the third day, that Esther put on her royal apparel, and stood in the inner court of the king's house, over against the king's house: and the king sat upon his royal throne in the royal house, over against the gate of the house. |
וַיְהִי ׀ בַּיֹּום הַשְּׁלִישִׁי וַתִּלְבַּשׁ אֶסְתֵּר מַלְכוּת וַתַּעֲמֹד בַּחֲצַר בֵּית־הַמֶּלֶךְ הַפְּנִימִית נֹכַח בֵּית הַמֶּלֶךְ וְהַמֶּלֶךְ יֹושֵׁב עַל־כִּסֵּא מַלְכוּתֹו בְּבֵית הַמַּלְכוּת נֹכַח פֶּתַח הַבָּיִת׃ |
| 5:2 Y cuando vio a la reina Ester que estaba en el patio, ella obtuvo gracia ante sus ojos; y el rey extendió a Ester el cetro de oro que tenía en la mano. Entonces vino Ester y tocó la punta del cetro. |
And it was so, when the king saw Esther the queen standing in the court, that she obtained favour in his sight: and the king held out to Esther the golden sceptre that was in his hand. So Esther drew near, and touched the top of the sceptre. |
וַיְהִי כִרְאֹות הַמֶּלֶךְ אֶת־אֶסְתֵּר הַמַּלְכָּה עֹמֶדֶת בֶּחָצֵר נָשְׂאָה חֵן בְּעֵינָיו וַיֹּושֶׁט הַמֶּלֶךְ לְאֶסְתֵּר אֶת־שַׁרְבִיט הַזָּהָב אֲשֶׁר בְּיָדֹו וַתִּקְרַב אֶסְתֵּר וַתִּגַּע בְּרֹאשׁ הַשַּׁרְבִיט׃ ס |
| 5:3 Dijo el rey: ¿Qué tienes, reina Ester, y cuál es tu petición? Hasta la mitad del reino se te dará. |
Then said the king unto her, What wilt thou, queen Esther? and what is thy request? it shall be even given thee to the half of the kingdom. |
וַיֹּאמֶר לָהּ הַמֶּלֶךְ מַה־לָּךְ אֶסְתֵּר הַמַּלְכָּה וּמַה־בַּקָּשָׁתֵךְ עַד־חֲצִי הַמַּלְכוּת וְיִנָּתֵן לָךְ׃ |
| 5:4 Y Ester dijo: Si place al rey, vengan hoy el rey y Amán al banquete que he preparado para el rey. |
And Esther answered, If it seem good unto the king, let the king and Haman come this day unto the banquet that I have prepared for him. |
וַתֹּאמֶר אֶסְתֵּר אִם־עַל־הַמֶּלֶךְ טֹוב יָבֹוא הַמֶּלֶךְ וְהָמָן הַיֹּום אֶל־הַמִּשְׁתֶּה אֲשֶׁר־עָשִׂיתִי לֹו׃ |
| 5:5 Respondió el rey: Daos prisa, llamad a Amán, para hacer lo que Ester ha dicho. Vino, pues, el rey con Amán al banquete que Ester dispuso. |
Then the king said, Cause Haman to make haste, that he may do as Esther hath said. So the king and Haman came to the banquet that Esther had prepared. |
וַיֹּאמֶר הַמֶּלֶךְ מַהֲרוּ אֶת־הָמָן לַעֲשֹׂות אֶת־דְּבַר אֶסְתֵּר וַיָּבֹא הַמֶּלֶךְ וְהָמָן אֶל־הַמִּשְׁתֶּה אֲשֶׁר־עָשְׂתָה אֶסְתֵּר׃ |
| 5:6 Y dijo el rey a Ester en el banquete, mientras bebían vino: ¿Cuál es tu petición, y te será otorgada? ¿Cuál es tu demanda? Aunque sea la mitad del reino, te será concedida. |
And the king said unto Esther at the banquet of wine, What is thy petition? and it shall be granted thee: and what is thy request? even to the half of the kingdom it shall be performed. |
וַיֹּאמֶר הַמֶּלֶךְ לְאֶסְתֵּר בְּמִשְׁתֵּה הַיַּיִן מַה־שְּׁאֵלָתֵךְ וְיִנָּתֵן לָךְ וּמַה־בַּקָּשָׁתֵךְ עַד־חֲצִי הַמַּלְכוּת וְתֵעָשׂ׃ |
| 5:7 Entonces respondió Ester y dijo: Mi petición y mi demanda es esta: |
Then answered Esther, and said, My petition and my request is; |
וַתַּעַן אֶסְתֵּר וַתֹּאמַר שְׁאֵלָתִי וּבַקָּשָׁתִי׃ |
| 5:8 Si he hallado gracia ante los ojos del rey, y si place al rey otorgar mi petición y conceder mi demanda, que venga el rey con Amán a otro banquete que les prepararé; y mañana haré conforme a lo que el rey ha mandado. |
If I have found favour in the sight of the king, and if it please the king to grant my petition, and to perform my request, let the king and Haman come to the banquet that I shall prepare for them, and I will do to morrow as the king hath said. |
אִם־מָצָאתִי חֵן בְּעֵינֵי הַמֶּלֶךְ וְאִם־עַל־הַמֶּלֶךְ טֹוב לָתֵת אֶת־שְׁאֵלָתִי וְלַעֲשֹׂות אֶת־בַּקָּשָׁתִי יָבֹוא הַמֶּלֶךְ וְהָמָן אֶל־הַמִּשְׁתֶּה אֲשֶׁר אֶעֱשֶׂה לָהֶם וּמָחָר אֶעֱשֶׂה כִּדְבַר הַמֶּלֶךְ׃ |
| 5:9 Y salió Amán aquel día contento y alegre de corazón; pero cuando vio a Mardoqueo a la puerta del palacio del rey, que no se levantaba ni se movía de su lugar, se llenó de ira contra Mardoqueo. |
Then went Haman forth that day joyful and with a glad heart: but when Haman saw Mordecai in the king's gate, that he stood not up, nor moved for him, he was full of indignation against Mordecai. |
וַיֵּצֵא הָמָן בַּיֹּום הַהוּא שָׂמֵחַ וְטֹוב לֵב וְכִרְאֹות הָמָן אֶת־מָרְדֳּכַי בְּשַׁעַר הַמֶּלֶךְ וְלֹא־קָם וְלֹא־זָע מִמֶּנּוּ וַיִּמָּלֵא הָמָן עַל־מָרְדֳּכַי חֵמָה׃ |
| 5:10 Pero se refrenó Amán y vino a su casa, y mandó llamar a sus amigos y a Zeres su mujer, |
Nevertheless Haman refrained himself: and when he came home, he sent and called for his friends, and Zeresh his wife. |
וַיִּתְאַפַּק הָמָן וַיָּבֹוא אֶל־בֵּיתֹו וַיִּשְׁלַח וַיָּבֵא אֶת־אֹהֲבָיו וְאֶת־זֶרֶשׁ אִשְׁתֹּו׃ |
| 5:11 y les refirió Amán la gloria de sus riquezas, y la multitud de sus hijos, y todas las cosas con que el rey le había engrandecido, y con que le había honrado sobre los príncipes y siervos del rey. |
And Haman told them of the glory of his riches, and the multitude of his children, and all the things wherein the king had promoted him, and how he had advanced him above the princes and servants of the king. |
וַיְסַפֵּר לָהֶם הָמָן אֶת־כְּבֹוד עָשְׁרֹו וְרֹב בָּנָיו וְאֵת כָּל־אֲשֶׁר גִּדְּלֹו הַמֶּלֶךְ וְאֵת אֲשֶׁר נִשְּׂאֹו עַל־הַשָּׂרִים וְעַבְדֵי הַמֶּלֶךְ׃ |
| 5:12 Y añadió Amán: También la reina Ester a ninguno hizo venir con el rey al banquete que ella dispuso, sino a mí; y también para mañana estoy convidado por ella con el rey. |
Haman said moreover, Yea, Esther the queen did let no man come in with the king unto the banquet that she had prepared but myself; and to morrow am I invited unto her also with the king. |
וַיֹּאמֶר הָמָן אַף לֹא־הֵבִיאָה אֶסְתֵּר הַמַּלְכָּה עִם־הַמֶּלֶךְ אֶל־הַמִּשְׁתֶּה אֲשֶׁר־עָשָׂתָה כִּי אִם־אֹותִי וְגַם־לְמָחָר אֲנִי קָרוּא־לָהּ עִם־הַמֶּלֶךְ׃ |
| 5:13 Pero todo esto de nada me sirve cada vez que veo al judío Mardoqueo sentado a la puerta del rey. |
Yet all this availeth me nothing, so long as I see Mordecai the Jew sitting at the king's gate. |
וְכָל־זֶה אֵינֶנּוּ שֹׁוֶה לִי בְּכָל־עֵת אֲשֶׁר אֲנִי רֹאֶה אֶת־מָרְדֳּכַי הַיְּהוּדִי יֹושֵׁב בְּשַׁעַר הַמֶּלֶךְ׃ |
| 5:14 Y le dijo Zeres su mujer y todos sus amigos: Hagan una horca de cincuenta codos de altura, y mañana di al rey que cuelguen a Mardoqueo en ella; y entra alegre con el rey al banquete. Y agradó esto a los ojos de Amán, e hizo preparar la horca. |
Then said Zeresh his wife and all his friends unto him, Let a gallows be made of fifty cubits high, and to morrow speak thou unto the king that Mordecai may be hanged thereon: then go thou in merrily with the king unto the banquet. And the thing pleased Haman; and he caused the gallows to be made. |
וַתֹּאמֶר לֹו זֶרֶשׁ אִשְׁתֹּו וְכָל־אֹהֲבָיו יַעֲשׂוּ־עֵץ גָּבֹהַּ חֲמִשִּׁים אַמָּה וּבַבֹּקֶר ׀ אֱמֹר לַמֶּלֶךְ וְיִתְלוּ אֶת־מָרְדֳּכַי עָלָיו וּבֹא־עִם־הַמֶּלֶךְ אֶל־הַמִּשְׁתֶּה שָׂמֵחַ וַיִּיטַב הַדָּבָר לִפְנֵי הָמָן וַיַּעַשׂ הָעֵץ׃ פ |
| 6:1 Aquella misma noche se le fue el sueño al rey, y dijo que le trajesen el libro de las memorias y crónicas, y que las leyeran en su presencia. |
On that night could not the king sleep, and he commanded to bring the book of records of the chronicles; and they were read before the king. |
בַּלַּיְלָה הַהוּא נָדְדָה שְׁנַת הַמֶּלֶךְ וַיֹּאמֶר לְהָבִיא אֶת־סֵפֶר הַזִּכְרֹנֹות דִּבְרֵי הַיָּמִים וַיִּהְיוּ נִקְרָאִים לִפְנֵי הַמֶּלֶךְ׃ |
| 6:2 Entonces hallaron escrito que Mardoqueo había denunciado el complot de Bigtán y de Teres, dos eunucos del rey, de la guardia de la puerta, que habían procurado poner mano en el rey Asuero. |
And it was found written, that Mordecai had told of Bigthana and Teresh, two of the king's chamberlains, the keepers of the door, who sought to lay hand on the king Ahasuerus. |
וַיִּמָּצֵא כָתוּב אֲשֶׁר הִגִּיד מָרְדֳּכַי עַל־בִּגְתָנָא וָתֶרֶשׁ שְׁנֵי סָרִיסֵי הַמֶּלֶךְ מִשֹּׁמְרֵי הַסַּף אֲשֶׁר בִּקְשׁוּ לִשְׁלֹחַ יָד בַּמֶּלֶךְ אֲחַשְׁוֵרֹושׁ׃ |
| 6:3 Y dijo el rey: ¿Qué honra o qué distinción se hizo a Mardoqueo por esto? Y respondieron los servidores del rey, sus oficiales: Nada se ha hecho con él. |
And the king said, What honour and dignity hath been done to Mordecai for this? Then said the king's servants that ministered unto him, There is nothing done for him. |
וַיֹּאמֶר הַמֶּלֶךְ מַה־נַּעֲשָׂה יְקָר וּגְדוּלָּה לְמָרְדֳּכַי עַל־זֶה וַיֹּאמְרוּ נַעֲרֵי הַמֶּלֶךְ מְשָׁרְתָיו לֹא־נַעֲשָׂה עִמֹּו דָּבָר׃ |
| 6:4 Entonces dijo el rey: ¿Quién está en el patio? Y Amán había venido al patio exterior de la casa real, para hablarle al rey para que hiciese colgar a Mardoqueo en la horca que él le tenía preparada. |
And the king said, Who is in the court? Now Haman was come into the outward court of the king's house, to speak unto the king to hang Mordecai on the gallows that he had prepared for him. |
וַיֹּאמֶר הַמֶּלֶךְ מִי בֶחָצֵר וְהָמָן בָּא לַחֲצַר בֵּית־הַמֶּלֶךְ הַחִיצֹונָה לֵאמֹר לַמֶּלֶךְ לִתְלֹות אֶת־מָרְדֳּכַי עַל־הָעֵץ אֲשֶׁר־הֵכִין לֹו׃ |
| 6:5 Y los servidores del rey le respondieron: He aquí Amán está en el patio. Y el rey dijo: Que entre. |
And the king's servants said unto him, Behold, Haman standeth in the court. And the king said, Let him come in. |
וַיֹּאמְרוּ נַעֲרֵי הַמֶּלֶךְ אֵלָיו הִנֵּה הָמָן עֹמֵד בֶּחָצֵר וַיֹּאמֶר הַמֶּלֶךְ יָבֹוא׃ |
| 6:6 Entró, pues, Amán, y el rey le dijo: ¿Qué se hará al hombre cuya honra desea el rey? Y dijo Amán en su corazón: ¿A quién deseará el rey honrar más que a mí? |
So Haman came in. And the king said unto him, What shall be done unto the man whom the king delighteth to honour? Now Haman thought in his heart, To whom would the king delight to do honour more than to myself? |
וַיָּבֹוא הָמָן וַיֹּאמֶר לֹו הַמֶּלֶךְ מַה־לַעֲשֹׂות בָּאִישׁ אֲשֶׁר הַמֶּלֶךְ חָפֵץ בִּיקָרֹו וַיֹּאמֶר הָמָן בְּלִבֹּו לְמִי יַחְפֹּץ הַמֶּלֶךְ לַעֲשֹׂות יְקָר יֹותֵר מִמֶּנִּי׃ |
| 6:7 Y respondió Amán al rey: Para el varón cuya honra desea el rey, |
And Haman answered the king, For the man whom the king delighteth to honour, |
וַיֹּאמֶר הָמָן אֶל־הַמֶּלֶךְ אִישׁ אֲשֶׁר הַמֶּלֶךְ חָפֵץ בִּיקָרֹו׃ |
| 6:8 traigan el vestido real de que el rey se viste, y el caballo en que el rey cabalga, y la corona real que está puesta en su cabeza; |
Let the royal apparel be brought which the king useth to wear, and the horse that the king rideth upon, and the crown royal which is set upon his head: |
יָבִיאוּ לְבוּשׁ מַלְכוּת אֲשֶׁר לָבַשׁ־בֹּו הַמֶּלֶךְ וְסוּס אֲשֶׁר רָכַב עָלָיו הַמֶּלֶךְ וַאֲשֶׁר נִתַּן כֶּתֶר מַלְכוּת בְּרֹאשֹׁו׃ |
| 6:9 y den el vestido y el caballo en mano de alguno de los príncipes más nobles del rey, y vistan a aquel varón cuya honra desea el rey, y llévenlo en el caballo por la plaza de la ciudad, y pregonen delante de él: Así se hará al varón cuya honra desea el rey. |
And let this apparel and horse be delivered to the hand of one of the king's most noble princes, that they may array the man withal whom the king delighteth to honour, and bring him on horseback through the street of the city, and proclaim before him, Thus shall it be done to the man whom the king delighteth to honour. |
וְנָתֹון הַלְּבוּשׁ וְהַסּוּס עַל־יַד־אִישׁ מִשָּׂרֵי הַמֶּלֶךְ הַפַּרְתְּמִים וְהִלְבִּישׁוּ אֶת־הָאִישׁ אֲשֶׁר הַמֶּלֶךְ חָפֵץ בִּיקָרֹו וְהִרְכִּיבֻהוּ עַל־הַסּוּס בִּרְחֹוב הָעִיר וְקָרְאוּ לְפָנָיו כָּכָה יֵעָשֶׂה לָאִישׁ אֲשֶׁר הַמֶּלֶךְ חָפֵץ בִּיקָרֹו׃ |
| 6:10 Entonces el rey dijo a Amán: Date prisa, toma el vestido y el caballo, como tú has dicho, y hazlo así con el judío Mardoqueo, que se sienta a la puerta real; no omitas nada de todo lo que has dicho. |
Then the king said to Haman, Make haste, and take the apparel and the horse, as thou hast said, and do even so to Mordecai the Jew, that sitteth at the king's gate: let nothing fail of all that thou hast spoken. |
וַיֹּאמֶר הַמֶּלֶךְ לְהָמָן מַהֵר קַח אֶת־הַלְּבוּשׁ וְאֶת־הַסּוּס כַּאֲשֶׁר דִּבַּרְתָּ וַעֲשֵׂה־כֵן לְמָרְדֳּכַי הַיְּהוּדִי הַיֹּושֵׁב בְּשַׁעַר הַמֶּלֶךְ אַל־תַּפֵּל דָּבָר מִכֹּל אֲשֶׁר דִּבַּרְתָּ׃ |
| 6:11 Y Amán tomó el vestido y el caballo, y vistió a Mardoqueo, y lo condujo a caballo por la plaza de la ciudad, e hizo pregonar delante de él: Así se hará al varón cuya honra desea el rey. |
Then took Haman the apparel and the horse, and arrayed Mordecai, and brought him on horseback through the street of the city, and proclaimed before him, Thus shall it be done unto the man whom the king delighteth to honour. |
וַיִּקַּח הָמָן אֶת־הַלְּבוּשׁ וְאֶת־הַסּוּס וַיַּלְבֵּשׁ אֶת־מָרְדֳּכָי וַיַּרְכִּיבֵהוּ בִּרְחֹוב הָעִיר וַיִּקְרָא לְפָנָיו כָּכָה יֵעָשֶׂה לָאִישׁ אֲשֶׁר הַמֶּלֶךְ חָפֵץ בִּיקָרֹו׃ |
| 6:12 Después de esto Mardoqueo volvió a la puerta real, y Amán se dio prisa para irse a su casa, apesadumbrado y cubierta su cabeza. |
And Mordecai came again to the king's gate. But Haman hasted to his house mourning, and having his head covered. |
וַיָּשָׁב מָרְדֳּכַי אֶל־שַׁעַר הַמֶּלֶךְ וְהָמָן נִדְחַף אֶל־בֵּיתֹו אָבֵל וַחֲפוּי רֹאשׁ׃ |
| 6:13 Contó luego Amán a Zeres su mujer y a todos sus amigos, todo lo que le había acontecido. Entonces le dijeron sus sabios, y Zeres su mujer: Si de la descendencia de los judíos es ese Mardoqueo delante de quien has comenzado a caer, no lo vencerás, sino que caerás por cierto delante de él. |
And Haman told Zeresh his wife and all his friends every thing that had befallen him. Then said his wise men and Zeresh his wife unto him, If Mordecai be of the seed of the Jews, before whom thou hast begun to fall, thou shalt not prevail against him, but shalt surely fall before him. |
וַיְסַפֵּר הָמָן לְזֶרֶשׁ אִשְׁתֹּו וּלְכָל־אֹהֲבָיו אֵת כָּל־אֲשֶׁר קָרָהוּ וַיֹּאמְרוּ לֹו חֲכָמָיו וְזֶרֶשׁ אִשְׁתֹּו אִם מִזֶּרַע הַיְּהוּדִים מָרְדֳּכַי אֲשֶׁר הַחִלֹּותָ לִנְפֹּל לְפָנָיו לֹא־תוּכַל לֹו כִּי־נָפֹול תִּפֹּול לְפָנָיו׃ |
| 6:14 Aún estaban ellos hablando con él, cuando los eunucos del rey llegaron apresurados, para llevar a Amán al banquete que Ester había dispuesto. |
And while they were yet talking with him, came the king's chamberlains, and hasted to bring Haman unto the banquet that Esther had prepared. |
עֹודָם מְדַבְּרִים עִמֹּו וְסָרִיסֵי הַמֶּלֶךְ הִגִּיעוּ וַיַּבְהִלוּ לְהָבִיא אֶת־הָמָן אֶל־הַמִּשְׁתֶּה אֲשֶׁר־עָשְׂתָה אֶסְתֵּר׃ |
| 7:1 Fue, pues, el rey con Amán al banquete de la reina Ester. |
So the king and Haman came to banquet with Esther the queen. |
וַיָּבֹא הַמֶּלֶךְ וְהָמָן לִשְׁתֹּות עִם־אֶסְתֵּר הַמַּלְכָּה׃ |
| 7:2 Y en el segundo día, mientras bebían vino, dijo el rey a Ester: ¿Cuál es tu petición, reina Ester, y te será concedida? ¿Cuál es tu demanda? Aunque sea la mitad del reino, te será otorgada. |
And the king said again unto Esther on the second day at the banquet of wine, What is thy petition, queen Esther? and it shall be granted thee: and what is thy request? and it shall be performed, even to the half of the kingdom. |
וַיֹּאמֶר הַמֶּלֶךְ לְאֶסְתֵּר גַּם בַּיֹּום הַשֵּׁנִי בְּמִשְׁתֵּה הַיַּיִן מַה־שְּׁאֵלָתֵךְ אֶסְתֵּר הַמַּלְכָּה וְתִנָּתֵן לָךְ וּמַה־בַּקָּשָׁתֵךְ עַד־חֲצִי הַמַּלְכוּת וְתֵעָשׂ׃ |
| 7:3 Entonces la reina Ester respondió y dijo: Oh rey, si he hallado gracia en tus ojos, y si al rey place, séame dada mi vida por mi petición, y mi pueblo por mi demanda. |
Then Esther the queen answered and said, If I have found favour in thy sight, O king, and if it please the king, let my life be given me at my petition, and my people at my request: |
וַתַּעַן אֶסְתֵּר הַמַּלְכָּה וַתֹּאמַר אִם־מָצָאתִי חֵן בְּעֵינֶיךָ הַמֶּלֶךְ וְאִם־עַל־הַמֶּלֶךְ טֹוב תִּנָּתֶן־לִי נַפְשִׁי בִּשְׁאֵלָתִי וְעַמִּי בְּבַקָּשָׁתִי׃ |
| 7:4 Porque hemos sido vendidos, yo y mi pueblo, para ser destruidos, para ser muertos y exterminados. Si para siervos y siervas fuéramos vendidos, me callaría; pero nuestra muerte sería para el rey un daño irreparable. |
For we are sold, I and my people, to be destroyed, to be slain, and to perish. But if we had been sold for bondmen and bondwomen, I had held my tongue, although the enemy could not countervail the king's damage. |
כִּי נִמְכַּרְנוּ אֲנִי וְעַמִּי לְהַשְׁמִיד לַהֲרֹוג וּלְאַבֵּד וְאִלּוּ לַעֲבָדִים וְלִשְׁפָחֹות נִמְכַּרְנוּ הֶחֱרַשְׁתִּי כִּי אֵין הַצָּר שֹׁוֶה בְּנֵזֶק הַמֶּלֶךְ׃ ס |
| 7:5 Respondió el rey Asuero, y dijo a la reina Ester: ¿Quién es, y dónde está, el que ha ensoberbecido su corazón para hacer esto? |
Then the king Ahasuerus answered and said unto Esther the queen, Who is he, and where is he, that durst presume in his heart to do so? |
וַיֹּאמֶר הַמֶּלֶךְ אֲחַשְׁוֵרֹושׁ וַיֹּאמֶר לְאֶסְתֵּר הַמַּלְכָּה מִי הוּא זֶה וְאֵי־זֶה הוּא אֲשֶׁר־מְלָאֹו לִבֹּו לַעֲשֹׂות כֵּן׃ |
| 7:6 Ester dijo: El enemigo y adversario es este malvado Amán. Entonces se turbó Amán delante del rey y de la reina. |
And Esther said, The adversary and enemy is this wicked Haman. Then Haman was afraid before the king and the queen. |
וַתֹּאמֶר־אֶסְתֵּר אִישׁ צַר וְאֹויֵב הָמָן הָרָע הַזֶּה וְהָמָן נִבְעַת מִלִּפְנֵי הַמֶּלֶךְ וְהַמַּלְכָּה׃ |
| 7:7 Luego el rey se levantó del banquete, encendido en ira, y se fue al huerto del palacio; y se quedó Amán para suplicarle a la reina Ester por su vida; porque vio que estaba resuelto para él el mal de parte del rey. |
And the king arising from the banquet of wine in his wrath went into the palace garden: and Haman stood up to make request for his life to Esther the queen; for he saw that there was evil determined against him by the king. |
וְהַמֶּלֶךְ קָם בַּחֲמָתֹו מִמִּשְׁתֵּה הַיַּיִן אֶל־גִּנַּת הַבִּיתָן וְהָמָן עָמַד לְבַקֵּשׁ עַל־נַפְשֹׁו מֵאֶסְתֵּר הַמַּלְכָּה כִּי רָאָה כִּי־כָלְתָה אֵלָיו הָרָעָה מֵאֵת הַמֶּלֶךְ׃ |
| 7:8 Después el rey volvió del huerto del palacio al aposento del banquete, y Amán había caído sobre el lecho en que estaba Ester. Entonces dijo el rey: ¿Querrás también violar a la reina en mi propia casa? Al proferir el rey esta palabra, le cubrieron el rostro a Amán. |
Then the king returned out of the palace garden into the place of the banquet of wine; and Haman was fallen upon the bed whereon Esther was. Then said the king, Will he force the queen also before me in the house? As the word went out of the king's mouth, they covered Haman's face. |
וְהַמֶּלֶךְ שָׁב מִגִּנַּת הַבִּיתָן אֶל־בֵּית ׀ מִשְׁתֵּה הַיַּיִן וְהָמָן נֹפֵל עַל־הַמִּטָּה אֲשֶׁר אֶסְתֵּר עָלֶיהָ וַיֹּאמֶר הַמֶּלֶךְ הֲגַם לִכְבֹּושׁ אֶת־הַמַּלְכָּה עִמִּי בַּבָּיִת הַדָּבָר יָצָא מִפִּי הַמֶּלֶךְ וּפְנֵי הָמָן חָפוּ׃ ס |
| 7:9 Y dijo Harbona, uno de los eunucos que servían al rey: He aquí en casa de Amán la horca de cincuenta codos de altura que hizo Amán para Mardoqueo, el cual había hablado bien por el rey. Entonces el rey dijo: Colgadlo en ella. |
And Harbonah, one of the chamberlains, said before the king, Behold also, the gallows fifty cubits high, which Haman had made for Mordecai, who had spoken good for the king, standeth in the house of Haman. Then the king said, Hang him thereon. |
וַיֹּאמֶר חַרְבֹונָה אֶחָד מִן־הַסָּרִיסִים לִפְנֵי הַמֶּלֶךְ גַּם הִנֵּה־הָעֵץ אֲשֶׁר־עָשָׂה הָמָן לְמָרְדֳּכַי אֲשֶׁר דִּבֶּר־טֹוב עַל־הַמֶּלֶךְ עֹמֵד בְּבֵית הָמָן גָּבֹהַּ חֲמִשִּׁים אַמָּה וַיֹּאמֶר הַמֶּלֶךְ תְּלֻהוּ עָלָיו׃ |
| 7:10 Así colgaron a Amán en la horca que él había hecho preparar para Mardoqueo; y se apaciguó la ira del rey. |
So they hanged Haman on the gallows that he had prepared for Mordecai. Then was the king's wrath pacified. |
וַיִּתְלוּ אֶת־הָמָן עַל־הָעֵץ אֲשֶׁר־הֵכִין לְמָרְדֳּכָי וַחֲמַת הַמֶּלֶךְ שָׁכָכָה׃ פ |
| 8:1 El mismo día, el rey Asuero dio a la reina Ester la casa de Amán enemigo de los judíos; y Mardoqueo vino delante del rey, porque Ester le declaró lo que él era respecto de ella. |
On that day did the king Ahasuerus give the house of Haman the Jews' enemy unto Esther the queen. And Mordecai came before the king; for Esther had told what he was unto her. |
בַּיֹּום הַהוּא נָתַן הַמֶּלֶךְ אֲחַשְׁוֵרֹושׁ לְאֶסְתֵּר הַמַּלְכָּה אֶת־בֵּית הָמָן צֹרֵר [הַיְּהוּדִיִּים כ] (הַיְּהוּדִים ק) וּמָרְדֳּכַי בָּא לִפְנֵי הַמֶּלֶךְ כִּי־הִגִּידָה אֶסְתֵּר מַה הוּא־לָהּ׃ |
| 8:2 Y se quitó el rey el anillo que recogió de Amán, y lo dio a Mardoqueo. Y Ester puso a Mardoqueo sobre la casa de Amán. |
And the king took off his ring, which he had taken from Haman, and gave it unto Mordecai. And Esther set Mordecai over the house of Haman. |
וַיָּסַר הַמֶּלֶךְ אֶת־טַבַּעְתֹּו אֲשֶׁר הֶעֱבִיר מֵהָמָן וַיִּתְּנָהּ לְמָרְדֳּכָי וַתָּשֶׂם אֶסְתֵּר אֶת־מָרְדֳּכַי עַל־בֵּית הָמָן׃ פ |
| 8:3 Volvió luego Ester a hablar delante del rey, y se echó a sus pies, llorando y rogándole que hiciese nula la maldad de Amán agagueo y su designio que había tramado contra los judíos. |
And Esther spake yet again before the king, and fell down at his feet, and besought him with tears to put away the mischief of Haman the Agagite, and his device that he had devised against the Jews. |
וַתֹּוסֶף אֶסְתֵּר וַתְּדַבֵּר לִפְנֵי הַמֶּלֶךְ וַתִּפֹּל לִפְנֵי רַגְלָיו וַתֵּבְךְּ וַתִּתְחַנֶּן־לֹו לְהַעֲבִיר אֶת־רָעַת הָמָן הָאֲגָגִי וְאֵת מַחֲשַׁבְתֹּו אֲשֶׁר חָשַׁב עַל־הַיְּהוּדִים׃ |
| 8:4 Entonces el rey extendió a Ester el cetro de oro, y Ester se levantó, y se puso en pie delante del rey, |
Then the king held out the golden sceptre toward Esther. So Esther arose, and stood before the king, |
וַיֹּושֶׁט הַמֶּלֶךְ לְאֶסְתֵּר אֵת שַׁרְבִט הַזָּהָב וַתָּקָם אֶסְתֵּר וַתַּעֲמֹד לִפְנֵי הַמֶּלֶךְ׃ |
| 8:5 y dijo: Si place al rey, y si he hallado gracia delante de él, y si le parece acertado al rey, y yo soy agradable a sus ojos, que se dé orden escrita para revocar las cartas que autorizan la trama de Amán hijo de Hamedata agagueo, que escribió para destruir a los judíos que están en todas las provincias del rey. |
And said, If it please the king, and if I have found favour in his sight, and the thing seem right before the king, and I be pleasing in his eyes, let it be written to reverse the letters devised by Haman the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, which he wrote to destroy the Jews which are in all the king's provinces: |
וַתֹּאמֶר אִם־עַל־הַמֶּלֶךְ טֹוב וְאִם־מָצָאתִי חֵן לְפָנָיו וְכָשֵׁר הַדָּבָר לִפְנֵי הַמֶּלֶךְ וְטֹובָה אֲנִי בְּעֵינָיו יִכָּתֵב לְהָשִׁיב אֶת־הַסְּפָרִים מַחֲשֶׁבֶת הָמָן בֶּן־הַמְּדָתָא הָאֲגָגִי אֲשֶׁר כָּתַב לְאַבֵּד אֶת־הַיְּהוּדִים אֲשֶׁר בְּכָל־מְדִינֹות הַמֶּלֶךְ׃ |
| 8:6 Porque ¿cómo podré yo ver el mal que alcanzará a mi pueblo? ¿Cómo podré yo ver la destrucción de mi nación? |
For how can I endure to see the evil that shall come unto my people? or how can I endure to see the destruction of my kindred? |
כִּי אֵיכָכָה אוּכַל וְרָאִיתִי בָּרָעָה אֲשֶׁר־יִמְצָא אֶת־עַמִּי וְאֵיכָכָה אוּכַל וְרָאִיתִי בְּאָבְדַן מֹולַדְתִּי׃ ס |
| 8:7 Respondió el rey Asuero a la reina Ester y a Mardoqueo el judío: He aquí yo he dado a Ester la casa de Amán, y a él han colgado en la horca, por cuanto extendió su mano contra los judíos. |
Then the king Ahasuerus said unto Esther the queen and to Mordecai the Jew, Behold, I have given Esther the house of Haman, and him they have hanged upon the gallows, because he laid his hand upon the Jews. |
וַיֹּאמֶר הַמֶּלֶךְ אֲחַשְׁוֵרֹשׁ לְאֶסְתֵּר הַמַּלְכָּה וּלְמָרְדֳּכַי הַיְּהוּדִי הִנֵּה בֵית־הָמָן נָתַתִּי לְאֶסְתֵּר וְאֹתֹו תָּלוּ עַל־הָעֵץ עַל אֲשֶׁר־שָׁלַח יָדֹו [בַּיְּהוּדִיִּים כ] (בַּיְּהוּדִים׃ ק) |
| 8:8 Escribid, pues, vosotros a los judíos como bien os pareciere, en nombre del rey, y selladlo con el anillo del rey; porque un edicto que se escribe en nombre del rey, y se sella con el anillo del rey, no puede ser revocado. |
Write ye also for the Jews, as it liketh you, in the king's name, and seal it with the king's ring: for the writing which is written in the king's name, and sealed with the king's ring, may no man reverse. |
וְאַתֶּם כִּתְבוּ עַל־הַיְּהוּדִים כַּטֹּוב בְּעֵינֵיכֶם בְּשֵׁם הַמֶּלֶךְ וְחִתְמוּ בְּטַבַּעַת הַמֶּלֶךְ כִּי־כְתָב אֲשֶׁר־נִכְתָּב בְּשֵׁם־הַמֶּלֶךְ וְנַחְתֹּום בְּטַבַּעַת הַמֶּלֶךְ אֵין לְהָשִׁיב׃ |
| 8:9 Entonces fueron llamados los escribanos del rey en el mes tercero, que es Siván, a los veintitrés días de ese mes; y se escribió conforme a todo lo que mandó Mardoqueo, a los judíos, y a los sátrapas, los capitanes y los príncipes de las provincias que había desde la India hasta Etiopía, ciento veintisiete provincias; a cada provincia según su escritura, y a cada pueblo conforme a su lengua, a los judíos también conforme a su escritura y lengua. |
Then were the king's scribes called at that time in the third month, that is, the month Sivan, on the three and twentieth day thereof; and it was written according to all that Mordecai commanded unto the Jews, and to the lieutenants, and the deputies and rulers of the provinces which are from India unto Ethiopia, an hundred twenty and seven provinces, unto every province according to the writing thereof, and unto every people after their language, and to the Jews according to their writing, and according to their language. |
וַיִּקָּרְאוּ סֹפְרֵי־הַמֶּלֶךְ בָּעֵת־הַהִיא בַּחֹדֶשׁ הַשְּׁלִישִׁי הוּא־חֹדֶשׁ סִיוָן בִּשְׁלֹושָׁה וְעֶשְׂרִים בֹּו וַיִּכָּתֵב כְּכָל־אֲשֶׁר־צִוָּה מָרְדֳּכַי אֶל־הַיְּהוּדִים וְאֶל הָאֲחַשְׁדַּרְפְּנִים־וְהַפַּחֹות וְשָׂרֵי הַמְּדִינֹות אֲשֶׁר ׀ מֵהֹדּוּ וְעַד־כּוּשׁ שֶׁבַע וְעֶשְׂרִים וּמֵאָה מְדִינָה מְדִינָה וּמְדִינָה כִּכְתָבָהּ וְעַם וָעָם כִּלְשֹׁנֹו וְאֶל־הַיְּהוּדִים כִּכְתָבָם וְכִלְשֹׁונָם׃ |
| 8:10 Y escribió en nombre del rey Asuero, y lo selló con el anillo del rey, y envió cartas por medio de correos montados en caballos veloces procedentes de los repastos reales; |
And he wrote in the king Ahasuerus' name, and sealed it with the king's ring, and sent letters by posts on horseback, and riders on mules, camels, and young dromedaries: |
וַיִּכְתֹּב בְּשֵׁם הַמֶּלֶךְ אֲחַשְׁוֵרֹשׁ וַיַּחְתֹּם בְּטַבַּעַת הַמֶּלֶךְ וַיִּשְׁלַח סְפָרִים בְּיַד הָרָצִים בַּסּוּסִים רֹכְבֵי הָרֶכֶשׁ הָאֲחַשְׁתְּרָנִים בְּנֵי הָרַמָּכִים׃ |
| 8:11 que el rey daba facultad a los judíos que estaban en todas las ciudades, para que se reuniesen y estuviesen a la defensa de su vida, prontos a destruir, y matar, y acabar con toda fuerza armada del pueblo o provincia que viniese contra ellos, y aun sus niños y mujeres, y apoderarse de sus bienes, |
Wherein the king granted the Jews which were in every city to gather themselves together, and to stand for their life, to destroy, to slay, and to cause to perish, all the power of the people and province that would assault them, both little ones and women, and to take the spoil of them for a prey, |
אֲשֶׁר נָתַן הַמֶּלֶךְ לַיְּהוּדִים ׀ אֲשֶׁר בְּכָל־עִיר־וָעִיר לְהִקָּהֵל וְלַעֲמֹד עַל־נַפְשָׁם לְהַשְׁמִיד וְלַהֲרֹג וּלְאַבֵּד אֶת־כָּל־חֵיל עַם וּמְדִינָה הַצָּרִים אֹתָם טַף וְנָשִׁים וּשְׁלָלָם לָבֹוז׃ |
| 8:12 en un mismo día en todas las provincias del rey Asuero, en el día trece del mes duodécimo, que es el mes de Adar. |
Upon one day in all the provinces of king Ahasuerus, namely, upon the thirteenth day of the twelfth month, which is the month Adar. |
בְּיֹום אֶחָד בְּכָל־מְדִינֹות הַמֶּלֶךְ אֲחַשְׁוֵרֹושׁ בִּשְׁלֹושָׁה עָשָׂר לְחֹדֶשׁ שְׁנֵים־עָשָׂר הוּא־חֹדֶשׁ אֲדָר׃ |
| 8:13 La copia del edicto que había de darse por decreto en cada provincia, para que fuese conocido por todos los pueblos, decía que los judíos estuviesen preparados para aquel día, para vengarse de sus enemigos. |
The copy of the writing for a commandment to be given in every province was published unto all people, and that the Jews should be ready against that day to avenge themselves on their enemies. |
פַּתְשֶׁגֶן הַכְּתָב לְהִנָּתֵן דָּת בְּכָל־מְדִינָה וּמְדִינָה גָּלוּי לְכָל־הָעַמִּים וְלִהְיֹות [הַיְּהוּדִיִּים כ] (הַיְּהוּדִים ק) [עֲתוּדִים כ] (עֲתִידִים ק) לַיֹּום הַזֶּה לְהִנָּקֵם מֵאֹיְבֵיהֶם׃ |
| 8:14 Los correos, pues, montados en caballos veloces, salieron a toda prisa por la orden del rey; y el edicto fue dado en Susa capital del reino. |
So the posts that rode upon mules and camels went out, being hastened and pressed on by the king's commandment. And the decree was given at Shushan the palace. |
הָרָצִים רֹכְבֵי הָרֶכֶשׁ הָאֲחַשְׁתְּרָנִים יָצְאוּ מְבֹהָלִים וּדְחוּפִים בִּדְבַר הַמֶּלֶךְ וְהַדָּת נִתְּנָה בְּשׁוּשַׁן הַבִּירָה׃ פ |
| 8:15 Y salió Mardoqueo de delante del rey con vestido real de azul y blanco, y una gran corona de oro, y un manto de lino y púrpura. La ciudad de Susa entonces se alegró y regocijó; |
And Mordecai went out from the presence of the king in royal apparel of blue and white, and with a great crown of gold, and with a garment of fine linen and purple: and the city of Shushan rejoiced and was glad. |
וּמָרְדֳּכַי יָצָא ׀ מִלִּפְנֵי הַמֶּלֶךְ בִּלְבוּשׁ מַלְכוּת תְּכֵלֶת וָחוּר וַעֲטֶרֶת זָהָב גְּדֹולָה וְתַכְרִיךְ בּוּץ וְאַרְגָּמָן וְהָעִיר שׁוּשָׁן צָהֲלָה וְשָׂמֵחָה׃ |
| 8:16 y los judíos tuvieron luz y alegría, y gozo y honra. |
The Jews had light, and gladness, and joy, and honour. |
לַיְּהוּדִים הָיְתָה אֹורָה וְשִׂמְחָה וְשָׂשֹׂן וִיקָר׃ |
| 8:17 Y en cada provincia y en cada ciudad donde llegó el mandamiento del rey, los judíos tuvieron alegría y gozo, banquete y día de placer. Y muchos de entre los pueblos de la tierra se hacían judíos, porque el temor de los judíos había caído sobre ellos. |
And in every province, and in every city, whithersoever the king's commandment and his decree came, the Jews had joy and gladness, a feast and a good day. And many of the people of the land became Jews; for the fear of the Jews fell upon them. |
וּבְכָל־מְדִינָה וּמְדִינָה וּבְכָל־עִיר וָעִיר מְקֹום אֲשֶׁר דְּבַר־הַמֶּלֶךְ וְדָתֹו מַגִּיעַ שִׂמְחָה וְשָׂשֹׂון לַיְּהוּדִים מִשְׁתֶּה וְיֹום טֹוב וְרַבִּים מֵעַמֵּי הָאָרֶץ מִתְיַהֲדִים כִּי־נָפַל פַּחַד־הַיְּהוּדִים עֲלֵיהֶם׃ |
| 9:1 En el mes duodécimo, que es el mes de Adar, a los trece días del mismo mes, cuando debía ser ejecutado el mandamiento del rey y su decreto, el mismo día en que los enemigos de los judíos esperaban enseñorearse de ellos, sucedió lo contrario; porque los judíos se enseñorearon de los que los aborrecían. |
Now in the twelfth month, that is, the month Adar, on the thirteenth day of the same, when the king's commandment and his decree drew near to be put in execution, in the day that the enemies of the Jews hoped to have power over them, (though it was turned to the contrary, that the Jews had rule over them that hated them;) |
וּבִשְׁנֵים עָשָׂר חֹדֶשׁ הוּא־חֹדֶשׁ אֲדָר בִּשְׁלֹושָׁה עָשָׂר יֹום בֹּו אֲשֶׁר הִגִּיעַ דְּבַר־הַמֶּלֶךְ וְדָתֹו לְהֵעָשֹׂות בַּיֹּום אֲשֶׁר שִׂבְּרוּ אֹיְבֵי הַיְּהוּדִים לִשְׁלֹוט בָּהֶם וְנַהֲפֹוךְ הוּא אֲשֶׁר יִשְׁלְטוּ הַיְּהוּדִים הֵמָּה בְּשֹׂנְאֵיהֶם׃ |
| 9:2 Los judíos se reunieron en sus ciudades, en todas las provincias del rey Asuero, para descargar su mano sobre los que habían procurado su mal, y nadie los pudo resistir, porque el temor de ellos había caído sobre todos los pueblos. |
The Jews gathered themselves together in their cities throughout all the provinces of the king Ahasuerus, to lay hand on such as sought their hurt: and no man could withstand them; for the fear of them fell upon all people. |
נִקְהֲלוּ הַיְּהוּדִים בְּעָרֵיהֶם בְּכָל־מְדִינֹות הַמֶּלֶךְ אֳחַשְׁוֵרֹושׁ לִשְׁלֹחַ יָד בִּמְבַקְשֵׁי רָעָתָם וְאִישׁ לֹא־עָמַד לִפְנֵיהֶם כִּי־נָפַל פַּחְדָּם עַל־כָּל־הָעַמִּים׃ |
| 9:3 Y todos los príncipes de las provincias, los sátrapas, capitanes y oficiales del rey, apoyaban a los judíos; porque el temor de Mardoqueo había caído sobre ellos. |
And all the rulers of the provinces, and the lieutenants, and the deputies, and officers of the king, helped the Jews; because the fear of Mordecai fell upon them. |
וְכָל־שָׂרֵי הַמְּדִינֹות וְהָאֲחַשְׁדַּרְפְּנִים וְהַפַּחֹות וְעֹשֵׂי הַמְּלָאכָה אֲשֶׁר לַמֶּלֶךְ מְנַשְּׂאִים אֶת־הַיְּהוּדִים כִּי־נָפַל פַּחַד־מָרְדֳּכַי עֲלֵיהֶם׃ |
| 9:4 Pues Mardoqueo era grande en la casa del rey, y su fama iba por todas las provincias; Mardoqueo iba engrandeciéndose más y más. |
For Mordecai was great in the king's house, and his fame went out throughout all the provinces: for this man Mordecai waxed greater and greater. |
כִּי־גָדֹול מָרְדֳּכַי בְּבֵית הַמֶּלֶךְ וְשָׁמְעֹו הֹולֵךְ בְּכָל־הַמְּדִינֹות כִּי־הָאִישׁ מָרְדֳּכַי הֹולֵךְ וְגָדֹול׃ פ |
| 9:5 Y asolaron los judíos a todos sus enemigos a filo de espada, y con mortandad y destrucción, e hicieron con sus enemigos como quisieron. |
Thus the Jews smote all their enemies with the stroke of the sword, and slaughter, and destruction, and did what they would unto those that hated them. |
וַיַּכּוּ הַיְּהוּדִים בְּכָל־אֹיְבֵיהֶם מַכַּת־חֶרֶב וְהֶרֶג וְאַבְדָן וַיַּעֲשׂוּ בְשֹׂנְאֵיהֶם כִּרְצֹונָם׃ |
| 9:6 En Susa capital del reino mataron y destruyeron los judíos a quinientos hombres. |
And in Shushan the palace the Jews slew and destroyed five hundred men. |
וּבְשׁוּשַׁן הַבִּירָה הָרְגוּ הַיְּהוּדִים וְאַבֵּד חֲמֵשׁ מֵאֹות אִישׁ׃ |
| 9:7 Mataron entonces a Parsandata, Dalfón, Aspata, |
And Parshandatha, and Dalphon, and Aspatha, |
וְאֵת ׀ פַּרְשַׁנְדָּתָא וְאֵת ׀ דַּלְפֹון וְאֵת ׀ אַסְפָּתָא׃ |
| 9:8 Porata, Adalía, Aridata, |
And Poratha, and Adalia, and Aridatha, |
וְאֵת ׀ פֹּורָתָא וְאֵת ׀ אֲדַלְיָא וְאֵת ׀ אֲרִידָתָא׃ |
| 9:9 Parmasta, Arisai, Aridai y Vaizata, |
And Parmashta, and Arisai, and Aridai, and Vajezatha, |
וְאֵת ׀ פַּרְמַשְׁתָּא וְאֵת ׀ אֲרִיסַי וְאֵת ׀ אֲרִדַי וְאֵת ׀ וַיְזָתָא׃ |
| 9:10 diez hijos de Amán hijo de Hamedata, enemigo de los judíos; pero no tocaron sus bienes. |
The ten sons of Haman the son of Hammedatha, the enemy of the Jews, slew they; but on the spoil laid they not their hand. |
עֲשֶׂרֶת בְּנֵי הָמָן בֶּן־הַמְּדָתָא צֹרֵר הַיְּהוּדִים הָרָגוּ וּבַבִּזָּה לֹא שָׁלְחוּ אֶת־יָדָם׃ |
| 9:11 El mismo día se le dio cuenta al rey acerca del número de los muertos en Susa, residencia real. |
On that day the number of those that were slain in Shushan the palace was brought before the king. |
בַּיֹּום הַהוּא בָּא מִסְפַּר הַהֲרוּגִים בְּשׁוּשַׁן הַבִּירָה לִפְנֵי הַמֶּלֶךְ׃ ס |
| 9:12 Y dijo el rey a la reina Ester: En Susa capital del reino los judíos han matado a quinientos hombres, y a diez hijos de Amán. ¿Qué habrán hecho en las otras provincias del rey? ¿Cuál, pues, es tu petición? y te será concedida; ¿o qué más es tu demanda? y será hecha. |
And the king said unto Esther the queen, The Jews have slain and destroyed five hundred men in Shushan the palace, and the ten sons of Haman; what have they done in the rest of the king's provinces? now what is thy petition? and it shall be granted thee: or what is thy request further? and it shall be done. |
וַיֹּאמֶר הַמֶּלֶךְ לְאֶסְתֵּר הַמַּלְכָּה בְּשׁוּשַׁן הַבִּירָה הָרְגוּ הַיְּהוּדִים וְאַבֵּד חֲמֵשׁ מֵאֹות אִישׁ וְאֵת עֲשֶׂרֶת בְּנֵי־הָמָן בִּשְׁאָר מְדִינֹות הַמֶּלֶךְ מֶה עָשׂוּ וּמַה־שְּׁאֵלָתֵךְ וְיִנָּתֵן לָךְ וּמַה־בַּקָּשָׁתֵךְ עֹוד וְתֵעָשׂ׃ |
| 9:13 Y respondió Ester: Si place al rey, concédase también mañana a los judíos en Susa, que hagan conforme a la ley de hoy; y que cuelguen en la horca a los diez hijos de Amán. |
Then said Esther, If it please the king, let it be granted to the Jews which are in Shushan to do to morrow also according unto this day's decree, and let Haman's ten sons be hanged upon the gallows. |
וַתֹּאמֶר אֶסְתֵּר אִם־עַל־הַמֶּלֶךְ טֹוב יִנָּתֵן גַּם־מָחָר לַיְּהוּדִים אֲשֶׁר בְּשׁוּשָׁן לַעֲשֹׂות כְּדָת הַיֹּום וְאֵת עֲשֶׂרֶת בְּנֵי־הָמָן יִתְלוּ עַל־הָעֵץ׃ |
| 9:14 Y mandó el rey que se hiciese así. Se dio la orden en Susa, y colgaron a los diez hijos de Amán. |
And the king commanded it so to be done: and the decree was given at Shushan; and they hanged Haman's ten sons. |
וַיֹּאמֶר הַמֶּלֶךְ לְהֵעָשֹׂות כֵּן וַתִּנָּתֵן דָּת בְּשׁוּשָׁן וְאֵת עֲשֶׂרֶת בְּנֵי־הָמָן תָּלוּ׃ |
| 9:15 Y los judíos que estaban en Susa se juntaron también el catorce del mes de Adar, y mataron en Susa a trescientos hombres; pero no tocaron sus bienes. |
For the Jews that were in Shushan gathered themselves together on the fourteenth day also of the month Adar, and slew three hundred men at Shushan; but on the prey they laid not their hand. |
וַיִּקָּהֲלוּ [הַיְּהוּדִיִּים כ] (הַיְּהוּדִים ק) אֲשֶׁר־בְּשׁוּשָׁן גַּם בְּיֹום אַרְבָּעָה עָשָׂר לְחֹדֶשׁ אֲדָר וַיַּהַרְגוּ בְשׁוּשָׁן שְׁלֹשׁ מֵאֹות אִישׁ וּבַבִּזָּה לֹא שָׁלְחוּ אֶת־יָדָם׃ |
| 9:16 En cuanto a los otros judíos que estaban en las provincias del rey, también se juntaron y se pusieron en defensa de su vida, y descansaron de sus enemigos, y mataron de sus contrarios a setenta y cinco mil; pero no tocaron sus bienes. |
But the other Jews that were in the king's provinces gathered themselves together, and stood for their lives, and had rest from their enemies, and slew of their foes seventy and five thousand, but they laid not their hands on the prey, |
וּשְׁאָר הַיְּהוּדִים אֲשֶׁר בִּמְדִינֹות הַמֶּלֶךְ נִקְהֲלוּ ׀ וְעָמֹד עַל־נַפְשָׁם וְנֹוחַ מֵאֹיְבֵיהֶם וְהָרֹג בְּשֹׂנְאֵיהֶם חֲמִשָּׁה וְשִׁבְעִים אָלֶף וּבַבִּזָּה לֹא שָׁלְחוּ אֶת־יָדָם׃ |
| 9:17 Esto fue en el día trece del mes de Adar, y reposaron en el día catorce del mismo, y lo hicieron día de banquete y de alegría. |
On the thirteenth day of the month Adar; and on the fourteenth day of the same rested they, and made it a day of feasting and gladness. |
בְּיֹום־שְׁלֹשָׁה עָשָׂר לְחֹדֶשׁ אֲדָר וְנֹוחַ בְּאַרְבָּעָה עָשָׂר בֹּו וְעָשֹׂה אֹתֹו יֹום מִשְׁתֶּה וְשִׂמְחָה׃ |
| 9:18 Pero los judíos que estaban en Susa se juntaron el día trece y el catorce del mismo mes, y el quince del mismo reposaron y lo hicieron día de banquete y de regocijo. |
But the Jews that were at Shushan assembled together on the thirteenth day thereof, and on the fourteenth thereof; and on the fifteenth day of the same they rested, and made it a day of feasting and gladness. |
[וְהַיְּהוּדִיִּים כ] (וְהַיְּהוּדִים ק) אֲשֶׁר־בְּשׁוּשָׁן נִקְהֲלוּ בִּשְׁלֹשָׁה עָשָׂר בֹּו וּבְאַרְבָּעָה עָשָׂר בֹּו וְנֹוחַ בַּחֲמִשָּׁה עָשָׂר בֹּו וְעָשֹׂה אֹתֹו יֹום מִשְׁתֶּה וְשִׂמְחָה׃ |
| 9:19 Por tanto, los judíos aldeanos que habitan en las villas sin muro hacen a los catorce del mes de Adar el día de alegría y de banquete, un día de regocijo, y para enviar porciones cada uno a su vecino. |
Therefore the Jews of the villages, that dwelt in the unwalled towns, made the fourteenth day of the month Adar a day of gladness and feasting, and a good day, and of sending portions one to another. |
עַל־כֵּן הַיְּהוּדִים [הַפְּרֹוזִים כ] (הַפְּרָזִים ק) הַיֹּשְׁבִים בְּעָרֵי הַפְּרָזֹות עֹשִׂים אֵת יֹום אַרְבָּעָה עָשָׂר לְחֹדֶשׁ אֲדָר שִׂמְחָה וּמִשְׁתֶּה וְיֹום טֹוב וּמִשְׁלֹוחַ מָנֹות אִישׁ לְרֵעֵהוּ׃ פ |
| 9:20 Y escribió Mardoqueo estas cosas, y envió cartas a todos los judíos que estaban en todas las provincias del rey Asuero, cercanos y distantes, |
And Mordecai wrote these things, and sent letters unto all the Jews that were in all the provinces of the king Ahasuerus, both nigh and far, |
וַיִּכְתֹּב מָרְדֳּכַי אֶת־הַדְּבָרִים הָאֵלֶּה וַיִּשְׁלַח סְפָרִים אֶל־כָּל־הַיְּהוּדִים אֲשֶׁר בְּכָל־מְדִינֹות הַמֶּלֶךְ אֲחַשְׁוֵרֹושׁ הַקְּרֹובִים וְהָרְחֹוקִים׃ |
| 9:21 ordenándoles que celebrasen el día decimocuarto del mes de Adar, y el decimoquinto del mismo, cada año, |
To stablish this among them, that they should keep the fourteenth day of the month Adar, and the fifteenth day of the same, yearly, |
לְקַיֵּם עֲלֵיהֶם לִהְיֹות עֹשִׂים אֵת יֹום אַרְבָּעָה עָשָׂר לְחֹדֶשׁ אֲדָר וְאֵת יֹום־חֲמִשָּׁה עָשָׂר בֹּו בְּכָל־שָׁנָה וְשָׁנָה׃ |
| 9:22 como días en que los judíos tuvieron paz de sus enemigos, y como el mes que de tristeza se les cambió en alegría, y de luto en día bueno; que los hiciesen días de banquete y de gozo, y para enviar porciones cada uno a su vecino, y dádivas a los pobres. |
As the days wherein the Jews rested from their enemies, and the month which was turned unto them from sorrow to joy, and from mourning into a good day: that they should make them days of feasting and joy, and of sending portions one to another, and gifts to the poor. |
כַּיָּמִים אֲשֶׁר־נָחוּ בָהֶם הַיְּהוּדִים מֵאֹויְבֵיהֶם וְהַחֹדֶשׁ אֲשֶׁר נֶהְפַּךְ לָהֶם מִיָּגֹון לְשִׂמְחָה וּמֵאֵבֶל לְיֹום טֹוב לַעֲשֹׂות אֹותָם יְמֵי מִשְׁתֶּה וְשִׂמְחָה וּמִשְׁלֹוחַ מָנֹות אִישׁ לְרֵעֵהוּ וּמַתָּנֹות לָאֶבְיֹונִים׃ |
| 9:23 Y los judíos aceptaron hacer, según habían comenzado, lo que les escribió Mardoqueo. |
And the Jews undertook to do as they had begun, and as Mordecai had written unto them; |
וְקִבֵּל הַיְּהוּדִים אֵת אֲשֶׁר־הֵחֵלּוּ לַעֲשֹׂות וְאֵת אֲשֶׁר־כָּתַב מָרְדֳּכַי אֲלֵיהֶם׃ |
| 9:24 Porque Amán hijo de Hamedata agagueo, enemigo de todos los judíos, había ideado contra los judíos un plan para destruirlos, y había echado Pur, que quiere decir suerte, para consumirlos y acabar con ellos. |
Because Haman the son of Hammedatha, the Agagite, the enemy of all the Jews, had devised against the Jews to destroy them, and had cast Pur, that is, the lot, to consume them, and to destroy them; |
כִּי הָמָן בֶּן־הַמְּדָתָא הָאֲגָגִי צֹרֵר כָּל־הַיְּהוּדִים חָשַׁב עַל־הַיְּהוּדִים לְאַבְּדָם וְהִפִּיל פּוּר הוּא הַגֹּורָל לְהֻמָּם וּלְאַבְּדָם׃ |
| 9:25 Mas cuando Ester vino a la presencia del rey, él ordenó por carta que el perverso designio que aquél trazó contra los judíos recayera sobre su cabeza; y que colgaran a él y a sus hijos en la horca. |
But when Esther came before the king, he commanded by letters that his wicked device, which he devised against the Jews, should return upon his own head, and that he and his sons should be hanged on the gallows. |
וּבְבֹאָהּ לִפְנֵי הַמֶּלֶךְ אָמַר עִם־הַסֵּפֶר יָשׁוּב מַחֲשַׁבְתֹּו הָרָעָה אֲשֶׁר־חָשַׁב עַל־הַיְּהוּדִים עַל־רֹאשֹׁו וְתָלוּ אֹתֹו וְאֶת־בָּנָיו עַל־הָעֵץ׃ |
| 9:26 Por esto llamaron a estos días Purim, por el nombre Pur. Y debido a las palabras de esta carta, y por lo que ellos vieron sobre esto, y lo que llevó a su conocimiento, |
Wherefore they called these days Purim after the name of Pur. Therefore for all the words of this letter, and of that which they had seen concerning this matter, and which had come unto them, |
עַל־כֵּן קָרְאוּ לַיָּמִים הָאֵלֶּה פוּרִים עַל־שֵׁם הַפּוּר עַל־כֵּן עַל־כָּל־דִּבְרֵי הָאִגֶּרֶת הַזֹּאת וּמָה־רָאוּ עַל־כָּכָה וּמָה הִגִּיעַ אֲלֵיהֶם׃ |
| 9:27 los judíos establecieron y tomaron sobre sí, sobre su descendencia y sobre todos los allegados a ellos, que no dejarían de celebrar estos dos días según está escrito tocante a ellos, conforme a su tiempo cada año; |
The Jews ordained, and took upon them, and upon their seed, and upon all such as joined themselves unto them, so as it should not fail, that they would keep these two days according to their writing, and according to their appointed time every year; |
קִיְּמוּ [וְקִבֵּל כ] (וְקִבְּלוּ ק) הַיְּהוּדִים ׀ עֲלֵיהֶם ׀ וְעַל־זַרְעָם וְעַל כָּל־הַנִּלְוִים עֲלֵיהֶם וְלֹא יַעֲבֹור לִהְיֹות עֹשִׂים אֵת שְׁנֵי הַיָּמִים הָאֵלֶּה כִּכְתָבָם וְכִזְמַנָּם בְּכָל־שָׁנָה וְשָׁנָה׃ |
| 9:28 y que estos días serían recordados y celebrados por todas las generaciones, familias, provincias y ciudades; que estos días de Purim no dejarían de ser guardados por los judíos, y que su descendencia jamás dejaría de recordarlos. |
And that these days should be remembered and kept throughout every generation, every family, every province, and every city; and that these days of Purim should not fail from among the Jews, nor the memorial of them perish from their seed. |
וְהַיָּמִים הָאֵלֶּה נִזְכָּרִים וְנַעֲשִׂים בְּכָל־דֹּור וָדֹור מִשְׁפָּחָה וּמִשְׁפָּחָה מְדִינָה וּמְדִינָה וְעִיר וָעִיר וִימֵי הַפּוּרִים הָאֵלֶּה לֹא יַעַבְרוּ מִתֹּוךְ הַיְּהוּדִים וְזִכְרָם לֹא־יָסוּף מִזַּרְעָם׃ ס |
| 9:29 Y la reina Ester hija de Abihail, y Mardoqueo el judío, suscribieron con plena autoridad esta segunda carta referente a Purim. |
Then Esther the queen, the daughter of Abihail, and Mordecai the Jew, wrote with all authority, to confirm this second letter of Purim. |
וַתִּכְתֹּב אֶסְתֵּר הַמַּלְכָּה בַת־אֲבִיחַיִל וּמָרְדֳּכַי הַיְּהוּדִי אֶת־כָּל־תֹּקֶף לְקַיֵּם אֵת אִגֶּרֶת הַפּוּרִים הַזֹּאת הַשֵּׁנִית׃ |
| 9:30 Y fueron enviadas cartas a todos los judíos, a las ciento veintisiete provincias del rey Asuero, con palabras de paz y de verdad, |
And he sent the letters unto all the Jews, to the hundred twenty and seven provinces of the kingdom of Ahasuerus, with words of peace and truth, |
וַיִּשְׁלַח סְפָרִים אֶל־כָּל־הַיְּהוּדִים אֶל־שֶׁבַע וְעֶשְׂרִים וּמֵאָה מְדִינָה מַלְכוּת אֲחַשְׁוֵרֹושׁ דִּבְרֵי שָׁלֹום וֶאֱמֶת׃ |
| 9:31 para confirmar estos días de Purim en sus tiempos señalados, según les había ordenado Mardoqueo el judío y la reina Ester, y según ellos habían tomado sobre sí y sobre su descendencia, para conmemorar el fin de los ayunos y de su clamor. |
To confirm these days of Purim in their times appointed, according as Mordecai the Jew and Esther the queen had enjoined them, and as they had decreed for themselves and for their seed, the matters of the fastings and their cry. |
לְקַיֵּם אֵת־יְמֵי הַפֻּרִים הָאֵלֶּה בִּזְמַנֵּיהֶם כַּאֲשֶׁר קִיַּם עֲלֵיהֶם מָרְדֳּכַי הַיְּהוּדִי וְאֶסְתֵּר הַמַּלְכָּה וְכַאֲשֶׁר קִיְּמוּ עַל־נַפְשָׁם וְעַל־זַרְעָם דִּבְרֵי הַצֹּמֹות וְזַעֲקָתָם׃ |
| 9:32 Y el mandamiento de Ester confirmó estas celebraciones acerca de Purim, y esto fue registrado en un libro. |
And the decree of Esther confirmed these matters of Purim; and it was written in the book. |
וּמַאֲמַר אֶסְתֵּר קִיַּם דִּבְרֵי הַפֻּרִים הָאֵלֶּה וְנִכְתָּב בַּסֵּפֶר׃ פ |
| 10:1 El rey Asuero impuso tributo sobre la tierra y hasta las costas del mar. |
And the king Ahasuerus laid a tribute upon the land, and upon the isles of the sea. |
וַיָּשֶׂם הַמֶּלֶךְ [אֲחַשֵׁרֹשׁ כ] (אֲחַשְׁוֵרֹושׁ ׀ ק) מַס עַל־הָאָרֶץ וְאִיֵּי הַיָּם׃ |
| 10:2 Y todos los hechos de su poder y autoridad, y el relato sobre la grandeza de Mardoqueo, con que el rey le engrandeció, ¿no está escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Media y de Persia? |
And all the acts of his power and of his might, and the declaration of the greatness of Mordecai, whereunto the king advanced him, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Media and Persia? |
וְכָל־מַעֲשֵׂה תָקְפֹּו וּגְבוּרָתֹו וּפָרָשַׁת גְּדֻלַּת מָרְדֳּכַי אֲשֶׁר גִּדְּלֹו הַמֶּלֶךְ הֲלֹוא־הֵם כְּתוּבִים עַל־סֵפֶר דִּבְרֵי הַיָּמִים לְמַלְכֵי מָדַי וּפָרָס׃ |
| 10:3 Porque Mardoqueo el judío fue el segundo después del rey Asuero, y grande entre los judíos, y estimado por la multitud de sus hermanos, porque procuró el bienestar de su pueblo y habló paz para todo su linaje. |
For Mordecai the Jew was next unto king Ahasuerus, and great among the Jews, and accepted of the multitude of his brethren, seeking the wealth of his people, and speaking peace to all his seed. |
