דִּבְרֵי קֹהֶלֶת בֶּן־דָּוִד מֶלֶךְ בִּירוּשָׁלִָם׃ |
| 1:2 Vanidad de vanidades, dijo el Predicador; vanidad de vanidades, todo es vanidad. |
Vanity of vanities, saith the Preacher, vanity of vanities; all is vanity. |
הֲבֵל הֲבָלִים אָמַר קֹהֶלֶת הֲבֵל הֲבָלִים הַכֹּל הָבֶל׃ |
| 1:3 ¿Qué provecho tiene el hombre de todo su trabajo con que se afana debajo del sol? |
What profit hath a man of all his labour which he taketh under the sun? |
מַה־יִּתְרֹון לָאָדָם בְּכָל־עֲמָלֹו שֶׁיַּעֲמֹל תַּחַת הַשָּׁמֶשׁ׃ |
| 1:4 Generación va, y generación viene; mas la tierra siempre permanece. |
One generation passeth away, and another generation cometh: but the earth abideth for ever. |
דֹּור הֹלֵךְ וְדֹור בָּא וְהָאָרֶץ לְעֹולָם עֹמָדֶת׃ |
| 1:5 Sale el sol, y se pone el sol, y se apresura a volver al lugar de donde se levanta. |
The sun also ariseth, and the sun goeth down, and hasteth to his place where he arose. |
וְזָרַח הַשֶּׁמֶשׁ וּבָא הַשָּׁמֶשׁ וְאֶל־מְקֹומֹו שֹׁואֵף זֹורֵחַ הוּא שָׁם׃ |
| 1:6 El viento tira hacia el sur, y rodea al norte; va girando de continuo, y a sus giros vuelve el viento de nuevo. |
The wind goeth toward the south, and turneth about unto the north; it whirleth about continually, and the wind returneth again according to his circuits. |
הֹולֵךְ אֶל־דָּרֹום וְסֹובֵב אֶל־צָפֹון סֹובֵב סֹבֵב הֹולֵךְ הָרוּחַ וְעַל־סְבִיבֹתָיו שָׁב הָרוּחַ׃ |
| 1:7 Los ríos todos van al mar, y el mar no se llena; al lugar de donde los ríos vinieron, allí vuelven para correr de nuevo. |
All the rivers run into the sea; yet the sea is not full; unto the place from whence the rivers come, thither they return again. |
כָּל־הַנְּחָלִים הֹלְכִים אֶל־הַיָּם וְהַיָּם אֵינֶנּוּ מָלֵא אֶל־מְקֹום שֶׁהַנְּחָלִים הֹלְכִים שָׁם הֵם שָׁבִים לָלָכֶת׃ |
| 1:8 Todas las cosas son fatigosas más de lo que el hombre puede expresar; nunca se sacia el ojo de ver, ni el oído de oír. |
All things are full of labour; man cannot utter it: the eye is not satisfied with seeing, nor the ear filled with hearing. |
כָּל־הַדְּבָרִים יְגֵעִים לֹא־יוּכַל אִישׁ לְדַבֵּר לֹא־תִשְׂבַּע עַיִן לִרְאֹות וְלֹא־תִמָּלֵא אֹזֶן מִשְּׁמֹעַ׃ |
| 1:9 ¿Qué es lo que fue? Lo mismo que será. ¿Qué es lo que ha sido hecho? Lo mismo que se hará; y nada hay nuevo debajo del sol. |
The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun. |
מַה־שֶּׁהָיָה הוּא שֶׁיִּהְיֶה וּמַה־שֶּׁנַּעֲשָׂה הוּא שֶׁיֵּעָשֶׂה וְאֵין כָּל־חָדָשׁ תַּחַת הַשָּׁמֶשׁ׃ |
| 1:10 ¿Hay algo de que se puede decir: He aquí esto es nuevo? Ya fue en los siglos que nos han precedido. |
Is there any thing whereof it may be said, See, this is new? it hath been already of old time, which was before us. |
יֵשׁ דָּבָר שֶׁיֹּאמַר רְאֵה־זֶה חָדָשׁ הוּא כְּבָר הָיָה לְעֹלָמִים אֲשֶׁר הָיָה מִלְּפָנֵנוּ׃ |
| 1:11 No hay memoria de lo que precedió, ni tampoco de lo que sucederá habrá memoria en los que serán después. |
There is no remembrance of former things; neither shall there be any remembrance of things that are to come with those that shall come after. |
אֵין זִכְרֹון לָרִאשֹׁנִים וְגַם לָאַחֲרֹנִים שֶׁיִּהְיוּ לֹא־יִהְיֶה לָהֶם זִכָּרֹון עִם שֶׁיִּהְיוּ לָאַחֲרֹנָה׃ פ |
| 1:12 Yo el Predicador fui rey sobre Israel en Jerusalén. |
I the Preacher was king over Israel in Jerusalem. |
אֲנִי קֹהֶלֶת הָיִיתִי מֶלֶךְ עַל־יִשְׂרָאֵל בִּירוּשָׁלִָם׃ |
| 1:13 Y di mi corazón a inquirir y a buscar con sabiduría sobre todo lo que se hace debajo del cielo; este penoso trabajo dio Dios a los hijos de los hombres, para que se ocupen en él. |
And I gave my heart to seek and search out by wisdom concerning all things that are done under heaven: this sore travail hath God given to the sons of man to be exercised therewith. |
וְנָתַתִּי אֶת־לִבִּי לִדְרֹושׁ וְלָתוּר בַּחָכְמָה עַל כָּל־אֲשֶׁר נַעֲשָׂה תַּחַת הַשָּׁמָיִם הוּא עִנְיַן רָע נָתַן אֱלֹהִים לִבְנֵי הָאָדָם לַעֲנֹות בֹּו׃ |
| 1:14 Miré todas las obras que se hacen debajo del sol; y he aquí, todo ello es vanidad y aflicción de espíritu. |
I have seen all the works that are done under the sun; and, behold, all is vanity and vexation of spirit. |
רָאִיתִי אֶת־כָּל־הַמַּעֲשִׂים שֶׁנַּעֲשׂוּ תַּחַת הַשָּׁמֶשׁ וְהִנֵּה הַכֹּל הֶבֶל וּרְעוּת רוּחַ׃ |
| 1:15 Lo torcido no se puede enderezar, y lo incompleto no puede contarse. |
That which is crooked cannot be made straight: and that which is wanting cannot be numbered. |
מְעֻוָּת לֹא־יוּכַל לִתְקֹן וְחֶסְרֹון לֹא־יוּכַל לְהִמָּנֹות׃ |
| 1:16 Hablé yo en mi corazón, diciendo: He aquí yo me he engrandecido, y he crecido en sabiduría sobre todos los que fueron antes de mí en Jerusalén; y mi corazón ha percibido mucha sabiduría y ciencia. |
I communed with mine own heart, saying, Lo, I am come to great estate, and have gotten more wisdom than all they that have been before me in Jerusalem: yea, my heart had great experience of wisdom and knowledge. |
דִּבַּרְתִּי אֲנִי עִם־לִבִּי לֵאמֹר אֲנִי הִנֵּה הִגְדַּלְתִּי וְהֹוסַפְתִּי חָכְמָה עַל כָּל־אֲשֶׁר־הָיָה לְפָנַי עַל־יְרוּשָׁלִָם וְלִבִּי רָאָה הַרְבֵּה חָכְמָה וָדָעַת׃ |
| 1:17 Y dediqué mi corazón a conocer la sabiduría, y también a entender las locuras y los desvaríos; conocí que aun esto era aflicción de espíritu. |
And I gave my heart to know wisdom, and to know madness and folly: I perceived that this also is vexation of spirit. |
וָאֶתְּנָה לִבִּי לָדַעַת חָכְמָה וְדַעַת הֹולֵלֹות וְשִׂכְלוּת יָדַעְתִּי שֶׁגַּם־זֶה הוּא רַעְיֹון רוּחַ׃ |
| 1:18 Porque en la mucha sabiduría hay mucha molestia; y quien añade ciencia, añade dolor. |
For in much wisdom is much grief: and he that increaseth knowledge increaseth sorrow. |
כִּי בְּרֹב חָכְמָה רָב־כָּעַס וְיֹוסִיף דַּעַת יֹוסִיף מַכְאֹוב׃ |
| 2:1 Dije yo en mi corazón: Ven ahora, te probaré con alegría, y gozarás de bienes. Mas he aquí esto también era vanidad. |
I said in mine heart, Go to now, I will prove thee with mirth, therefore enjoy pleasure: and, behold, this also is vanity. |
אָמַרְתִּי אֲנִי בְּלִבִּי לְכָה־נָּא אֲנַסְּכָה בְשִׂמְחָה וּרְאֵה בְטֹוב וְהִנֵּה גַם־הוּא הָבֶל׃ |
| 2:2 A la risa dije: Enloqueces; y al placer: ¿De qué sirve esto? |
I said of laughter, It is mad: and of mirth, What doeth it? |
לִשְׂחֹוק אָמַרְתִּי מְהֹולָל וּלְשִׂמְחָה מַה־זֹּה עֹשָׂה׃ |
| 2:3 Propuse en mi corazón agasajar mi carne con vino, y que anduviese mi corazón en sabiduría, con retención de la necedad, hasta ver cuál fuese el bien de los hijos de los hombres, en el cual se ocuparan debajo del cielo todos los días de su vida. |
I sought in mine heart to give myself unto wine, yet acquainting mine heart with wisdom; and to lay hold on folly, till I might see what was that good for the sons of men, which they should do under the heaven all the days of their life. |
תַּרְתִּי בְלִבִּי לִמְשֹׁוךְ בַּיַּיִן אֶת־בְּשָׂרִי וְלִבִּי נֹהֵג בַּחָכְמָה וְלֶאֱחֹז בְּסִכְלוּת עַד אֲשֶׁר־אֶרְאֶה אֵי־זֶה טֹוב לִבְנֵי הָאָדָם אֲשֶׁר יַעֲשׂוּ תַּחַת הַשָּׁמַיִם מִסְפַּר יְמֵי חַיֵּיהֶם׃ |
| 2:4 Engrandecí mis obras, edifiqué para mí casas, planté para mí viñas; |
I made me great works; I builded me houses; I planted me vineyards: |
הִגְדַּלְתִּי מַעֲשָׂי בָּנִיתִי לִי בָּתִּים נָטַעְתִּי לִי כְּרָמִים׃ |
| 2:5 me hice huertos y jardines, y planté en ellos árboles de todo fruto. |
I made me gardens and orchards, and I planted trees in them of all kind of fruits: |
עָשִׂיתִי לִי גַּנֹּות וּפַרְדֵּסִים וְנָטַעְתִּי בָהֶם עֵץ כָּל־פֶּרִי׃ |
| 2:6 Me hice estanques de aguas, para regar de ellos el bosque donde crecían los árboles. |
I made me pools of water, to water therewith the wood that bringeth forth trees: |
עָשִׂיתִי לִי בְּרֵכֹות מָיִם לְהַשְׁקֹות מֵהֶם יַעַר צֹומֵחַ עֵצִים׃ |
| 2:7 Compré siervos y siervas, y tuve siervos nacidos en casa; también tuve posesión grande de vacas y de ovejas, más que todos los que fueron antes de mí en Jerusalén. |
I got me servants and maidens, and had servants born in my house; also I had great possessions of great and small cattle above all that were in Jerusalem before me: |
קָנִיתִי עֲבָדִים וּשְׁפָחֹות וּבְנֵי־בַיִת הָיָה לִי גַּם מִקְנֶה בָקָר וָצֹאן הַרְבֵּה הָיָה לִי מִכֹּל שֶׁהָיוּ לְפָנַי בִּירוּשָׁלִָם׃ |
| 2:8 Me amontoné también plata y oro, y tesoros preciados de reyes y de provincias; me hice de cantores y cantoras, de los deleites de los hijos de los hombres, y de toda clase de instrumentos de música. |
I gathered me also silver and gold, and the peculiar treasure of kings and of the provinces: I gat me men singers and women singers, and the delights of the sons of men, as musical instruments, and that of all sorts. |
כָּנַסְתִּי לִי גַּם־כֶּסֶף וְזָהָב וּסְגֻלַּת מְלָכִים וְהַמְּדִינֹות עָשִׂיתִי לִי שָׁרִים וְשָׁרֹות וְתַעֲנוּגֹת בְּנֵי הָאָדָם שִׁדָּה וְשִׁדֹּות׃ |
| 2:9 Y fui engrandecido y aumentado más que todos los que fueron antes de mí en Jerusalén; a más de esto, conservé conmigo mi sabiduría. |
So I was great, and increased more than all that were before me in Jerusalem: also my wisdom remained with me. |
וְגָדַלְתִּי וְהֹוסַפְתִּי מִכֹּל שֶׁהָיָה לְפָנַי בִּירוּשָׁלִָם אַף חָכְמָתִי עָמְדָה לִּי׃ |
| 2:10 No negué a mis ojos ninguna cosa que desearan, ni aparté mi corazón de placer alguno, porque mi corazón gozó de todo mi trabajo; y esta fue mi parte de toda mi faena. |
And whatsoever mine eyes desired I kept not from them, I withheld not my heart from any joy; for my heart rejoiced in all my labour: and this was my portion of all my labour. |
וְכֹל אֲשֶׁר שָׁאֲלוּ עֵינַי לֹא אָצַלְתִּי מֵהֶם לֹא־מָנַעְתִּי אֶת־לִבִּי מִכָּל־שִׂמְחָה כִּי־לִבִּי שָׂמֵחַ מִכָּל־עֲמָלִי וְזֶה־הָיָה חֶלְקִי מִכָּל־עֲמָלִי׃ |
| 2:11 Miré yo luego todas las obras que habían hecho mis manos, y el trabajo que tomé para hacerlas; y he aquí, todo era vanidad y aflicción de espíritu, y sin provecho debajo del sol. |
Then I looked on all the works that my hands had wrought, and on the labour that I had laboured to do: and, behold, all was vanity and vexation of spirit, and there was no profit under the sun. |
וּפָנִיתִי אֲנִי בְּכָל־מַעֲשַׂי שֶׁעָשׂוּ יָדַי וּבֶעָמָל שֶׁעָמַלְתִּי לַעֲשֹׂות וְהִנֵּה הַכֹּל הֶבֶל וּרְעוּת רוּחַ וְאֵין יִתְרֹון תַּחַת הַשָּׁמֶשׁ׃ |
| 2:12 Después volví yo a mirar para ver la sabiduría y los desvaríos y la necedad; porque ¿qué podrá hacer el hombre que venga después del rey? Nada, sino lo que ya ha sido hecho. |
And I turned myself to behold wisdom, and madness, and folly: for what can the man do that cometh after the king? even that which hath been already done. |
וּפָנִיתִי אֲנִי לִרְאֹות חָכְמָה וְהֹולֵלֹות וְסִכְלוּת כִּי מֶה הָאָדָם שֶׁיָּבֹוא אַחֲרֵי הַמֶּלֶךְ אֵת אֲשֶׁר־כְּבָר עָשׂוּהוּ׃ |
| 2:13 Y he visto que la sabiduría sobrepasa a la necedad, como la luz a las tinieblas. |
Then I saw that wisdom excelleth folly, as far as light excelleth darkness. |
וְרָאִיתִי אָנִי שֶׁיֵּשׁ יִתְרֹון לַחָכְמָה מִן־הַסִּכְלוּת כִּיתְרֹון הָאֹור מִן־הַחֹשֶׁךְ׃ |
| 2:14 El sabio tiene sus ojos en su cabeza, mas el necio anda en tinieblas; pero también entendí yo que un mismo suceso acontecerá al uno como al otro. |
The wise man's eyes are in his head; but the fool walketh in darkness: and I myself perceived also that one event happeneth to them all. |
הֶחָכָם עֵינָיו בְּרֹאשֹׁו וְהַכְּסִיל בַּחֹשֶׁךְ הֹולֵךְ וְיָדַעְתִּי גַם־אָנִי שֶׁמִּקְרֶה אֶחָד יִקְרֶה אֶת־כֻּלָּם׃ |
| 2:15 Entonces dije yo en mi corazón: Como sucederá al necio, me sucederá también a mí. ¿Para qué, pues, he trabajado hasta ahora por hacerme más sabio? Y dije en mi corazón, que también esto era vanidad. |
Then said I in my heart, As it happeneth to the fool, so it happeneth even to me; and why was I then more wise? Then I said in my heart, that this also is vanity. |
וְאָמַרְתִּי אֲנִי בְּלִבִּי כְּמִקְרֵה הַכְּסִיל גַּם־אֲנִי יִקְרֵנִי וְלָמָּה חָכַמְתִּי אֲנִי אָז יֹותֵר וְדִבַּרְתִּי בְלִבִּי שֶׁגַּם־זֶה הָבֶל׃ |
| 2:16 Porque ni del sabio ni del necio habrá memoria para siempre; pues en los días venideros ya todo será olvidado, y también morirá el sabio como el necio. |
For there is no remembrance of the wise more than of the fool for ever; seeing that which now is in the days to come shall all be forgotten. And how dieth the wise man? as the fool. |
כִּי אֵין זִכְרֹון לֶחָכָם עִם־הַכְּסִיל לְעֹולָם בְּשֶׁכְּבָר הַיָּמִים הַבָּאִים הַכֹּל נִשְׁכָּח וְאֵיךְ יָמוּת הֶחָכָם עִם־הַכְּסִיל׃ |
| 2:17 Aborrecí, por tanto, la vida, porque la obra que se hace debajo del sol me era fastidiosa; por cuanto todo es vanidad y aflicción de espíritu. |
Therefore I hated life; because the work that is wrought under the sun is grievous unto me: for all is vanity and vexation of spirit. |
וְשָׂנֵאתִי אֶת־הַחַיִּים כִּי רַע עָלַי הַמַּעֲשֶׂה שֶׁנַּעֲשָׂה תַּחַת הַשָּׁמֶשׁ כִּי־הַכֹּל הֶבֶל וּרְעוּת רוּחַ׃ |
| 2:18 Asimismo aborrecí todo mi trabajo que había hecho debajo del sol, el cual tendré que dejar a otro que vendrá después de mí. |
Yea, I hated all my labour which I had taken under the sun: because I should leave it unto the man that shall be after me. |
וְשָׂנֵאתִי אֲנִי אֶת־כָּל־עֲמָלִי שֶׁאֲנִי עָמֵל תַּחַת הַשָּׁמֶשׁ שֶׁאַנִּיחֶנּוּ לָאָדָם שֶׁיִּהְיֶה אַחֲרָי׃ |
| 2:19 Y ¿quién sabe si será sabio o necio el que se enseñoreará de todo mi trabajo en que yo me afané y en que ocupé debajo del sol mi sabiduría? Esto también es vanidad. |
And who knoweth whether he shall be a wise man or a fool? yet shall he have rule over all my labour wherein I have laboured, and wherein I have shewed myself wise under the sun. This is also vanity. |
וּמִי יֹודֵעַ הֶחָכָם יִהְיֶה אֹו סָכָל וְיִשְׁלַט בְּכָל־עֲמָלִי שֶׁעָמַלְתִּי וְשֶׁחָכַמְתִּי תַּחַת הַשָּׁמֶשׁ גַּם־זֶה הָבֶל׃ |
| 2:20 Volvió, por tanto, a desesperanzarse mi corazón acerca de todo el trabajo en que me afané, y en que había ocupado debajo del sol mi sabiduría. |
Therefore I went about to cause my heart to despair of all the labour which I took under the sun. |
וְסַבֹּותִי אֲנִי לְיַאֵשׁ אֶת־לִבִּי עַל כָּל־הֶעָמָל שֶׁעָמַלְתִּי תַּחַת הַשָּׁמֶשׁ׃ |
| 2:21 ¡Que el hombre trabaje con sabiduría, y con ciencia y con rectitud, y que haya de dar su hacienda a hombre que nunca trabajó en ello! También es esto vanidad y mal grande. |
For there is a man whose labour is in wisdom, and in knowledge, and in equity; yet to a man that hath not laboured therein shall he leave it for his portion. This also is vanity and a great evil. |
כִּי־יֵשׁ אָדָם שֶׁעֲמָלֹו בְּחָכְמָה וּבְדַעַת וּבְכִשְׁרֹון וּלְאָדָם שֶׁלֹּא עָמַל־בֹּו יִתְּנֶנּוּ חֶלְקֹו גַּם־זֶה הֶבֶל וְרָעָה רַבָּה׃ |
| 2:22 Porque ¿qué tiene el hombre de todo su trabajo, y de la fatiga de su corazón, con que se afana debajo del sol? |
For what hath man of all his labour, and of the vexation of his heart, wherein he hath laboured under the sun? |
כִּי מֶה־הֹוֶה לָאָדָם בְּכָל־עֲמָלֹו וּבְרַעְיֹון לִבֹּו שֶׁהוּא עָמֵל תַּחַת הַשָּׁמֶשׁ׃ |
| 2:23 Porque todos sus días no son sino dolores, y sus trabajos molestias; aun de noche su corazón no reposa. Esto también es vanidad. |
For all his days are sorrows, and his travail grief; yea, his heart taketh not rest in the night. This is also vanity. |
כִּי כָל־יָמָיו מַכְאֹבִים וָכַעַס עִנְיָנֹו גַּם־בַּלַּיְלָה לֹא־שָׁכַב לִבֹּו גַּם־זֶה הֶבֶל הוּא׃ |
| 2:24 No hay cosa mejor para el hombre sino que coma y beba, y que su alma se alegre en su trabajo. También he visto que esto es de la mano de Dios. |
There is nothing better for a man, than that he should eat and drink, and that he should make his soul enjoy good in his labour. This also I saw, that it was from the hand of God. |
אֵין־טֹוב בָּאָדָם שֶׁיֹּאכַל וְשָׁתָה וְהֶרְאָה אֶת־נַפְשֹׁו טֹוב בַּעֲמָלֹו גַּם־זֹה רָאִיתִי אָנִי כִּי מִיַּד הָאֱלֹהִים הִיא׃ |
| 2:25 Porque ¿quién comerá, y quién se cuidará, mejor que yo? |
For who can eat, or who else can hasten hereunto, more than I? |
כִּי מִי יֹאכַל וּמִי יָחוּשׁ חוּץ מִמֶּנִּי׃ |
| 2:26 Porque al hombre que le agrada, Dios le da sabiduría, ciencia y gozo; mas al pecador da el trabajo de recoger y amontonar, para darlo al que agrada a Dios. También esto es vanidad y aflicción de espíritu. |
For God giveth to a man that is good in his sight wisdom, and knowledge, and joy: but to the sinner he giveth travail, to gather and to heap up, that he may give to him that is good before God. This also is vanity and vexation of spirit. |
כִּי לְאָדָם שֶׁטֹּוב לְפָנָיו נָתַן חָכְמָה וְדַעַת וְשִׂמְחָה וְלַחֹוטֶא נָתַן עִנְיָן לֶאֱסֹוף וְלִכְנֹוס לָתֵת לְטֹוב לִפְנֵי הָאֱלֹהִים גַּם־זֶה הֶבֶל וּרְעוּת רוּחַ׃ |
| 3:1 Todo tiene su tiempo, y todo lo que se quiere debajo del cielo tiene su hora. |
To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: |
לַכֹּל זְמָן וְעֵת לְכָל־חֵפֶץ תַּחַת הַשָּׁמָיִם׃ ס |
| 3:2 Tiempo de nacer, y tiempo de morir; tiempo de plantar, y tiempo de arrancar lo plantado; |
A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; |
עֵת לָלֶדֶת וְעֵת לָמוּת עֵת לָטַעַת וְעֵת לַעֲקֹור נָטוּעַ׃ |
| 3:3 tiempo de matar, y tiempo de curar; tiempo de destruir, y tiempo de edificar; |
A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; |
עֵת לַהֲרֹוג וְעֵת לִרְפֹּוא עֵת לִפְרֹוץ וְעֵת לִבְנֹות׃ |
| 3:4 tiempo de llorar, y tiempo de reir; tiempo de endechar, y tiempo de bailar; |
A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; |
עֵת לִבְכֹּות וְעֵת לִשְׂחֹוק עֵת סְפֹוד וְעֵת רְקֹוד׃ |
| 3:5 tiempo de esparcir piedras, y tiempo de juntar piedras; tiempo de abrazar, y tiempo de abstenerse de abrazar; |
A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; |
עֵת לְהַשְׁלִיךְ אֲבָנִים וְעֵת כְּנֹוס אֲבָנִים עֵת לַחֲבֹוק וְעֵת לִרְחֹק מֵחַבֵּק׃ |
| 3:6 tiempo de buscar, y tiempo de perder; tiempo de guardar, y tiempo de desechar; |
A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; |

עֵת לִקְרֹועַ וְעֵת לִתְפֹּור עֵת לַחֲשֹׁות וְעֵת לְדַבֵּר׃ |
| 3:8 tiempo de amar, y tiempo de aborrecer; tiempo de guerra, y tiempo de paz. |
A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace. |
עֵת לֶאֱהֹב וְעֵת לִשְׂנֹא עֵת מִלְחָמָה וְעֵת שָׁלֹום׃ ס |
| 3:9 ¿Qué provecho tiene el que trabaja, de aquello en que se afana? |
What profit hath he that worketh in that wherein he laboureth? |
מַה־יִּתְרֹון הָעֹושֶׂה בַּאֲשֶׁר הוּא עָמֵל׃ |
| 3:10 Yo he visto el trabajo que Dios ha dado a los hijos de los hombres para que se ocupen en él. |
I have seen the travail, which God hath given to the sons of men to be exercised in it. |
רָאִיתִי אֶת־הָעִנְיָן אֲשֶׁר נָתַן אֱלֹהִים לִבְנֵי הָאָדָם לַעֲנֹות בֹּו׃ |
| 3:11 Todo lo hizo hermoso en su tiempo; y ha puesto eternidad en el corazón de ellos, sin que alcance el hombre a entender la obra que ha hecho Dios desde el principio hasta el fin. |
He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end. |
אֶת־הַכֹּל עָשָׂה יָפֶה בְעִתֹּו גַּם אֶת־הָעֹלָם נָתַן בְּלִבָּם מִבְּלִי אֲשֶׁר לֹא־יִמְצָא הָאָדָם אֶת־הַמַּעֲשֶׂה אֲשֶׁר־עָשָׂה הָאֱלֹהִים מֵרֹאשׁ וְעַד־סֹוף׃ |
| 3:12 Yo he conocido que no hay para ellos cosa mejor que alegrarse, y hacer bien en su vida; |
I know that there is no good in them, but for a man to rejoice, and to do good in his life. |
יָדַעְתִּי כִּי אֵין טֹוב בָּם כִּי אִם־לִשְׂמֹוחַ וְלַעֲשֹׂות טֹוב בְּחַיָּיו׃ |
| 3:13 y también que es don de Dios que todo hombre coma y beba, y goce el bien de toda su labor. |
And also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labour, it is the gift of God. |
וְגַם כָּל־הָאָדָם שֶׁיֹּאכַל וְשָׁתָה וְרָאָה טֹוב בְּכָל־עֲמָלֹו מַתַּת אֱלֹהִים הִיא׃ |
| 3:14 He entendido que todo lo que Dios hace será perpetuo; sobre aquello no se añadirá, ni de ello se disminuirá; y lo hace Dios, para que delante de él teman los hombres. |
I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him. |
יָדַעְתִּי כִּי כָּל־אֲשֶׁר יַעֲשֶׂה הָאֱלֹהִים הוּא יִהְיֶה לְעֹולָם עָלָיו אֵין לְהֹוסִיף וּמִמֶּנּוּ אֵין לִגְרֹעַ וְהָאֱלֹהִים עָשָׂה שֶׁיִּרְאוּ מִלְּפָנָיו׃ |
| 3:15 Aquello que fue, ya es; y lo que ha de ser, fue ya; y Dios restaura lo que pasó. |
That which hath been is now; and that which is to be hath already been; and God requireth that which is past. |
מַה־שֶּׁהָיָה כְּבָר הוּא וַאֲשֶׁר לִהְיֹות כְּבָר הָיָה וְהָאֱלֹהִים יְבַקֵּשׁ אֶת־נִרְדָּף׃ |
| 3:16 Vi más debajo del sol: en lugar del juicio, allí impiedad; y en lugar de la justicia, allí iniquidad. |
And moreover I saw under the sun the place of judgment, that wickedness was there; and the place of righteousness, that iniquity was there. |
וְעֹוד רָאִיתִי תַּחַת הַשָּׁמֶשׁ מְקֹום הַמִּשְׁפָּט שָׁמָּה הָרֶשַׁע וּמְקֹום הַצֶּדֶק שָׁמָּה הָרָשַׁע׃ |
| 3:17 Y dije yo en mi corazón: Al justo y al impío juzgará Dios; porque allí hay un tiempo para todo lo que se quiere y para todo lo que se hace. |
I said in mine heart, God shall judge the righteous and the wicked: for there is a time there for every purpose and for every work. |
אָמַרְתִּי אֲנִי בְּלִבִּי אֶת־הַצַּדִּיק וְאֶת־הָרָשָׁע יִשְׁפֹּט הָאֱלֹהִים כִּי־עֵת לְכָל־חֵפֶץ וְעַל כָּל־הַמַּעֲשֶׂה שָׁם׃ |
| 3:18 Dije en mi corazón: Es así, por causa de los hijos de los hombres, para que Dios los pruebe, y para que vean que ellos mismos son semejantes a las bestias. |
I said in mine heart concerning the estate of the sons of men, that God might manifest them, and that they might see that they themselves are beasts. |
אָמַרְתִּי אֲנִי בְּלִבִּי עַל־דִּבְרַת בְּנֵי הָאָדָם לְבָרָם הָאֱלֹהִים וְלִרְאֹות שְׁהֶם־בְּהֵמָה הֵמָּה לָהֶם׃ |
| 3:19 Porque lo que sucede a los hijos de los hombres, y lo que sucede a las bestias, un mismo suceso es: como mueren los unos, así mueren los otros, y una misma respiración tienen todos; ni tiene más el hombre que la bestia; porque todo es vanidad. |
For that which befalleth the sons of men befalleth beasts; even one thing befalleth them: as the one dieth, so dieth the other; yea, they have all one breath; so that a man hath no preeminence above a beast: for all is vanity. |
כִּי מִקְרֶה בְנֵי־הָאָדָם וּמִקְרֶה הַבְּהֵמָה וּמִקְרֶה אֶחָד לָהֶם כְּמֹות זֶה כֵּן מֹות זֶה וְרוּחַ אֶחָד לַכֹּל וּמֹותַר הָאָדָם מִן־הַבְּהֵמָה אָיִן כִּי הַכֹּל הָבֶל׃ |
| 3:20 Todo va a un mismo lugar; todo es hecho del polvo, y todo volverá al mismo polvo. |
All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again. |
הַכֹּל הֹולֵךְ אֶל־מָקֹום אֶחָד הַכֹּל הָיָה מִן־הֶעָפָר וְהַכֹּל שָׁב אֶל־הֶעָפָר׃ |
| 3:21 ¿Quién sabe que el espíritu de los hijos de los hombres sube arriba, y que el espíritu del animal desciende abajo a la tierra? |
Who knoweth the spirit of man that goeth upward, and the spirit of the beast that goeth downward to the earth? |
מִי יֹודֵעַ רוּחַ בְּנֵי הָאָדָם הָעֹלָה הִיא לְמָעְלָה וְרוּחַ הַבְּהֵמָה הַיֹּרֶדֶת הִיא לְמַטָּה לָאָרֶץ׃ |
| 3:22 Así, pues, he visto que no hay cosa mejor para el hombre que alegrarse en su trabajo, porque esta es su parte; porque ¿quién lo llevará para que vea lo que ha de ser después de él? |
Wherefore I perceive that there is nothing better, than that a man should rejoice in his own works; for that is his portion: for who shall bring him to see what shall be after him? |
וְרָאִיתִי כִּי אֵין טֹוב מֵאֲשֶׁר יִשְׂמַח הָאָדָם בְּמַעֲשָׂיו כִּי־הוּא חֶלְקֹו כִּי מִי יְבִיאֶנּוּ לִרְאֹות בְּמֶה שֶׁיִּהְיֶה אַחֲרָיו׃ |
| 4:1 Me volví y vi todas las violencias que se hacen debajo del sol; y he aquí las lágrimas de los oprimidos, sin tener quien los consuele; y la fuerza estaba en la mano de sus opresores, y para ellos no había consolador. |
So I returned, and considered all the oppressions that are done under the sun: and behold the tears of such as were oppressed, and they had no comforter; and on the side of their oppressors there was power; but they had no comforter. |
וְשַׁבְתִּי אֲנִי וָאֶרְאֶה אֶת־כָּל־הָעֲשֻׁקִים אֲשֶׁר נַעֲשִׂים תַּחַת הַשָּׁמֶשׁ וְהִנֵּה דִּמְעַת הָעֲשֻׁקִים וְאֵין לָהֶם מְנַחֵם וּמִיַּד עֹשְׁקֵיהֶם כֹּחַ וְאֵין לָהֶם מְנַחֵם׃ |
| 4:2 Y alabé yo a los finados, los que ya murieron, más que a los vivientes, los que viven todavía. |
Wherefore I praised the dead which are already dead more than the living which are yet alive. |
וְשַׁבֵּחַ אֲנִי אֶת־הַמֵּתִים שֶׁכְּבָר מֵתוּ מִן־הַחַיִּים אֲשֶׁר הֵמָּה חַיִּים עֲדֶנָה׃ |
| 4:3 Y tuve por más feliz que unos y otros al que no ha sido aún, que no ha visto las malas obras que debajo del sol se hacen. |
Yea, better is he than both they, which hath not yet been, who hath not seen the evil work that is done under the sun. |
וְטֹוב מִשְּׁנֵיהֶם אֵת אֲשֶׁר־עֲדֶן לֹא הָיָה אֲשֶׁר לֹא־רָאָה אֶת־הַמַּעֲשֶׂה הָרָע אֲשֶׁר נַעֲשָׂה תַּחַת הַשָּׁמֶשׁ׃ |
| 4:4 He visto asimismo que todo trabajo y toda excelencia de obras despierta la envidia del hombre contra su prójimo. También esto es vanidad y aflicción de espíritu. |
Again, I considered all travail, and every right work, that for this a man is envied of his neighbour. This is also vanity and vexation of spirit. |
וְרָאִיתִי אֲנִי אֶת־כָּל־עָמָל וְאֵת כָּל־כִּשְׁרֹון הַמַּעֲשֶׂה כִּי הִיא קִנְאַת־אִישׁ מֵרֵעֵהוּ גַּם־זֶה הֶבֶל וּרְעוּת רוּחַ׃ |
| 4:5 El necio cruza sus manos y come su misma carne. |
The fool foldeth his hands together, and eateth his own flesh. |
הַכְּסִיל חֹבֵק אֶת־יָדָיו וְאֹכֵל אֶת־בְּשָׂרֹו׃ |
| 4:6 Más vale un puño lleno con descanso, que ambos puños llenos con trabajo y aflicción de espíritu. |
Better is an handful with quietness, than both the hands full with travail and vexation of spirit. |
טֹוב מְלֹא כַף נָחַת מִמְּלֹא חָפְנַיִם עָמָל וּרְעוּת רוּחַ׃ |
| 4:7 Yo me volví otra vez, y vi vanidad debajo del sol. |
Then I returned, and I saw vanity under the sun. |
וְשַׁבְתִּי אֲנִי וָאֶרְאֶה הֶבֶל תַּחַת הַשָּׁמֶשׁ׃ |
| 4:8 Está un hombre solo y sin sucesor, que no tiene hijo ni hermano; pero nunca cesa de trabajar, ni sus ojos se sacian de sus riquezas, ni se pregunta: ¿Para quién trabajo yo, y defraudo mi alma del bien? También esto es vanidad, y duro trabajo. |
There is one alone, and there is not a second; yea, he hath neither child nor brother: yet is there no end of all his labour; neither is his eye satisfied with riches; neither saith he, For whom do I labour, and bereave my soul of good? This is also vanity, yea, it is a sore travail. |
יֵשׁ אֶחָד וְאֵין שֵׁנִי גַּם בֵּן וָאָח אֵין־לֹו וְאֵין קֵץ לְכָל־עֲמָלֹו גַּם־ [עֵינָיו כ] (עֵינֹו ק) לֹא־תִשְׂבַּע עֹשֶׁר וּלְמִי אֲנִי עָמֵל וּמְחַסֵּר אֶת־נַפְשִׁי מִטֹּובָה גַּם־זֶה הֶבֶל וְעִנְיַן רָע הוּא׃ |
| 4:9 Mejores son dos que uno; porque tienen mejor paga de su trabajo. |
Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. |
טֹובִים הַשְּׁנַיִם מִן־הָאֶחָד אֲשֶׁר יֵשׁ־לָהֶם שָׂכָר טֹוב בַּעֲמָלָם׃ |
| 4:10 Porque si cayeren, el uno levantará a su compañero; pero ¡ay del solo! que cuando cayere, no habrá segundo que lo levante. |
For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up. |
כִּי אִם־יִפֹּלוּ הָאֶחָד יָקִים אֶת־חֲבֵרֹו וְאִילֹו הָאֶחָד שֶׁיִּפֹּול וְאֵין שֵׁנִי לַהֲקִימֹו׃ |
| 4:11 También si dos durmieren juntos, se calentarán mutuamente; mas ¿cómo se calentará uno solo? |
Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm alone? |
גַּם אִם־יִשְׁכְּבוּ שְׁנַיִם וְחַם לָהֶם וּלְאֶחָד אֵיךְ יֵחָם׃ |
| 4:12 Y si alguno prevaleciere contra uno, dos le resistirán; y cordón de tres dobleces no se rompe pronto. |
And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken. |
וְאִם־יִתְקְפֹו הָאֶחָד הַשְּׁנַיִם יַעַמְדוּ נֶגְדֹּו וְהַחוּט הַמְשֻׁלָּשׁ לֹא בִמְהֵרָה יִנָּתֵק׃ |
| 4:13 Mejor es el muchacho pobre y sabio, que el rey viejo y necio que no admite consejos; |
Better is a poor and a wise child than an old and foolish king, who will no more be admonished. |
טֹוב יֶלֶד מִסְכֵּן וְחָכָם מִמֶּלֶךְ זָקֵן וּכְסִיל אֲשֶׁר לֹא־יָדַע לְהִזָּהֵר עֹוד׃ |
| 4:14 porque de la cárcel salió para reinar, aunque en su reino nació pobre. |
For out of prison he cometh to reign; whereas also he that is born in his kingdom becometh poor. |
כִּי־מִבֵּית הָסוּרִים יָצָא לִמְלֹךְ כִּי גַּם בְּמַלְכוּתֹו נֹולַד רָשׁ׃ |
| 4:15 Vi a todos los que viven debajo del sol caminando con el muchacho sucesor, que estará en lugar de aquél. |
I considered all the living which walk under the sun, with the second child that shall stand up in his stead. |
רָאִיתִי אֶת־כָּל־הַחַיִּים הַמְהַלְּכִים תַּחַת הַשָּׁמֶשׁ עִם הַיֶּלֶד הַשֵּׁנִי אֲשֶׁר יַעֲמֹד תַּחְתָּיו׃ |
| 4:16 No tenía fin la muchedumbre del pueblo que le seguía; sin embargo, los que vengan después tampoco estarán contentos de él. Y esto es también vanidad y aflicción de espíritu. |
There is no end of all the people, even of all that have been before them: they also that come after shall not rejoice in him. Surely this also is vanity and vexation of spirit. |
אֵין־קֵץ לְכָל־הָעָם לְכֹל אֲשֶׁר־הָיָה לִפְנֵיהֶם גַּם הָאַחֲרֹונִים לֹא יִשְׂמְחוּ־בֹו כִּי־גַם־זֶה הֶבֶל וְרַעְיֹון רוּחַ׃ |
| 5:1 Cuando fueres a la casa de Dios, guarda tu pie; y acércate más para oír que para ofrecer el sacrificio de los necios; porque no saben que hacen mal. |
Keep thy foot when thou goest to the house of God, and be more ready to hear, than to give the sacrifice of fools: for they consider not that they do evil. |
שְׁמֹר [רַגְלֶיךָ כ] (רַגְלְךָ ק) כַּאֲשֶׁר תֵּלֵךְ אֶל־בֵּית הָאֱלֹהִים וְקָרֹוב לִשְׁמֹעַ מִתֵּת הַכְּסִילִים זָבַח כִּי־אֵינָם יֹודְעִים לַעֲשֹׂות רָע׃ |
| 5:2 No te des prisa con tu boca, ni tu corazón se apresure a proferir palabra delante de Dios; porque Dios está en el cielo, y tú sobre la tierra; por tanto, sean pocas tus palabras. |
Be not rash with thy mouth, and let not thine heart be hasty to utter any thing before God: for God is in heaven, and thou upon earth: therefore let thy words be few. |
אַל־תְּבַהֵל עַל־פִּיךָ וְלִבְּךָ אַל־יְמַהֵר לְהֹוצִיא דָבָר לִפְנֵי הָאֱלֹהִים כִּי הָאֱלֹהִים בַּשָּׁמַיִם וְאַתָּה עַל־הָאָרֶץ עַל־כֵּן יִהְיוּ דְבָרֶיךָ מְעַטִּים׃ |
| 5:3 Porque de la mucha ocupación viene el sueño, y de la multitud de las palabras la voz del necio. |
For a dream cometh through the multitude of business; and a fool's voice is known by multitude of words. |
כִּי בָּא הַחֲלֹום בְּרֹב עִנְיָן וְקֹול כְּסִיל בְּרֹב דְּבָרִים׃ |
| 5:4 Cuando a Dios haces promesa, no tardes en cumplirla; porque él no se complace en los insensatos. Cumple lo que prometes. |
When thou vowest a vow unto God, defer not to pay it; for he hath no pleasure in fools: pay that which thou hast vowed. |
כַּאֲשֶׁר תִּדֹּר נֶדֶר לֵאלֹהִים אַל־תְּאַחֵר לְשַׁלְּמֹו כִּי אֵין חֵפֶץ בַּכְּסִילִים אֵת אֲשֶׁר־תִּדֹּר שַׁלֵּם׃ |
| 5:5 Mejor es que no prometas, y no que prometas y no cumplas. |
Better is it that thou shouldest not vow, than that thou shouldest vow and not pay. |
טֹוב אֲשֶׁר לֹא־תִדֹּר מִשֶּׁתִּדֹּור וְלֹא תְשַׁלֵּם׃ |
| 5:6 No dejes que tu boca te haga pecar, ni digas delante del ángel, que fue ignorancia. ¿Por qué harás que Dios se enoje a causa de tu voz, y que destruya la obra de tus manos? |
Suffer not thy mouth to cause thy flesh to sin; neither say thou before the angel, that it was an error: wherefore should God be angry at thy voice, and destroy the work of thine hands? |
אַל־תִּתֵּן אֶת־פִּיךָ לַחֲטִיא אֶת־בְּשָׂרֶךָ וְאַל־תֹּאמַר לִפְנֵי הַמַּלְאָךְ כִּי שְׁגָגָה הִיא לָמָּה יִקְצֹף הָאֱלֹהִים עַל־קֹולֶךָ וְחִבֵּל אֶת־מַעֲשֵׂה יָדֶיךָ׃ |
| 5:7 Donde abundan los sueños, también abundan las vanidades y las muchas palabras; mas tú, teme a Dios. |
For in the multitude of dreams and many words there are also divers vanities: but fear thou God. |
כִּי בְרֹב חֲלֹמֹות וַהֲבָלִים וּדְבָרִים הַרְבֵּה כִּי אֶת־הָאֱלֹהִים יְרָא׃ |
| 5:8 Si opresión de pobres y perversión de derecho y de justicia vieres en la provincia, no te maravilles de ello; porque sobre el alto vigila otro más alto, y uno más alto está sobre ellos. |
If thou seest the oppression of the poor, and violent perverting of judgment and justice in a province, marvel not at the matter: for he that is higher than the highest regardeth; and there be higher than they. |
אִם־עֹשֶׁק רָשׁ וְגֵזֶל מִשְׁפָּט וָצֶדֶק תִּרְאֶה בַמְּדִינָה אַל־תִּתְמַהּ עַל־הַחֵפֶץ כִּי גָבֹהַּ מֵעַל גָּבֹהַּ שֹׁמֵר וּגְבֹהִים עֲלֵיהֶם׃ |
| 5:9 Además, el provecho de la tierra es para todos; el rey mismo está sujeto a los campos. |
Moreover the profit of the earth is for all: the king himself is served by the field. |
וְיִתְרֹון אֶרֶץ בַּכֹּל [הִיא כ] (הוּא ק) מֶלֶךְ לְשָׂדֶה נֶעֱבָד׃ |
| 5:10 El que ama el dinero, no se saciará de dinero; y el que ama el mucho tener, no sacará fruto. También esto es vanidad. |
He that loveth silver shall not be satisfied with silver; nor he that loveth abundance with increase: this is also vanity. |
אֹהֵב כֶּסֶף לֹא־יִשְׂבַּע כֶּסֶף וּמִי־אֹהֵב בֶּהָמֹון לֹא תְבוּאָה גַּם־זֶה הָבֶל׃ |
| 5:11 Cuando aumentan los bienes, también aumentan los que los consumen. ¿Qué bien, pues, tendrá su dueño, sino verlos con sus ojos? |
When goods increase, they are increased that eat them: and what good is there to the owners thereof, saving the beholding of them with their eyes? |
בִּרְבֹות הַטֹּובָה רַבּוּ אֹוכְלֶיהָ וּמַה־כִּשְׁרֹון לִבְעָלֶיהָ כִּי אִם־ [רְאִיַּת כ] (רְאוּת ק) עֵינָיו׃ |
| 5:12 Dulce es el sueño del trabajador, coma mucho, coma poco; pero al rico no le deja dormir la abundancia. |
The sleep of a labouring man is sweet, whether he eat little or much: but the abundance of the rich will not suffer him to sleep. |
מְתוּקָה שְׁנַת הָעֹבֵד אִם־מְעַט וְאִם־הַרְבֵּה יֹאכֵל וְהַשָּׂבָע לֶעָשִׁיר אֵינֶנּוּ מַנִּיחַ לֹו לִישֹׁון׃ |
| 5:13 Hay un mal doloroso que he visto debajo del sol: las riquezas guardadas por sus dueños para su mal; |
There is a sore evil which I have seen under the sun, namely, riches kept for the owners thereof to their hurt. |
יֵשׁ רָעָה חֹולָה רָאִיתִי תַּחַת הַשָּׁמֶשׁ עֹשֶׁר שָׁמוּר לִבְעָלָיו לְרָעָתֹו׃ |
| 5:14 las cuales se pierden en malas ocupaciones, y a los hijos que engendraron, nada les queda en la mano. |
But those riches perish by evil travail: and he begetteth a son, and there is nothing in his hand. |
וְאָבַד הָעֹשֶׁר הַהוּא בְּעִנְיַן רָע וְהֹולִיד בֵּן וְאֵין בְּיָדֹו מְאוּמָה׃ |
| 5:15 Como salió del vientre de su madre, desnudo, así vuelve, yéndose tal como vino; y nada tiene de su trabajo para llevar en su mano. |
As he came forth of his mother's womb, naked shall he return to go as he came, and shall take nothing of his labour, which he may carry away in his hand. |
כַּאֲשֶׁר יָצָא מִבֶּטֶן אִמֹּו עָרֹום יָשׁוּב לָלֶכֶת כְּשֶׁבָּא וּמְאוּמָה לֹא־יִשָּׂא בַעֲמָלֹו שֶׁיֹּלֵךְ בְּיָדֹו׃ |
| 5:16 Este también es un gran mal, que como vino, así haya de volver. ¿Y de qué le aprovechó trabajar en vano? |
And this also is a sore evil, that in all points as he came, so shall he go: and what profit hath he that hath laboured for the wind? |
וְגַם־זֹה רָעָה חֹולָה כָּל־עֻמַּת שֶׁבָּא כֵּן יֵלֵךְ וּמַה־יִּתְרֹון לֹו שֶׁיַּעֲמֹל לָרוּחַ׃ |
| 5:17 Además de esto, todos los días de su vida comerá en tinieblas, con mucho afán y dolor y miseria. |
All his days also he eateth in darkness, and he hath much sorrow and wrath with his sickness. |
גַּם כָּל־יָמָיו בַּחֹשֶׁךְ יֹאכֵל וְכָעַס הַרְבֵּה וְחָלְיֹו וָקָצֶף׃ |
| 5:18 He aquí, pues, el bien que yo he visto: que lo bueno es comer y beber, y gozar uno del bien de todo su trabajo con que se fatiga debajo del sol, todos los días de su vida que Dios le ha dado; porque esta es su parte. |
Behold that which I have seen: it is good and comely for one to eat and to drink, and to enjoy the good of all his labour that he taketh under the sun all the days of his life, which God giveth him: for it is his portion. |
הִנֵּה אֲשֶׁר־רָאִיתִי אָנִי טֹוב אֲשֶׁר־יָפֶה לֶאֶכֹול־וְלִשְׁתֹּות וְלִרְאֹות טֹובָה בְּכָל־עֲמָלֹו שֶׁיַּעֲמֹל תַּחַת־הַשֶּׁמֶשׁ מִסְפַּר יְמֵי־ [חַיָּו כ] (חַיָּיו ק) אֲשֶׁר־נָתַן־לֹו הָאֱלֹהִים כִּי־הוּא חֶלְקֹו׃ |
| 5:19 Asimismo, a todo hombre a quien Dios da riquezas y bienes, y le da también facultad para que coma de ellas, y tome su parte, y goce de su trabajo, esto es don de Dios. |
Every man also to whom God hath given riches and wealth, and hath given him power to eat thereof, and to take his portion, and to rejoice in his labour; this is the gift of God. |
גַּם כָּל־הָאָדָם אֲשֶׁר נָתַן־לֹו הָאֱלֹהִים עֹשֶׁר וּנְכָסִים וְהִשְׁלִיטֹו לֶאֱכֹל מִמֶּנּוּ וְלָשֵׂאת אֶת־חֶלְקֹו וְלִשְׂמֹחַ בַּעֲמָלֹו זֹה מַתַּת אֱלֹהִים הִיא׃ |
| 5:20 Porque no se acordará mucho de los días de su vida; pues Dios le llenará de alegría el corazón. |
For he shall not much remember the days of his life; because God answereth him in the joy of his heart. |
כִּי לֹא הַרְבֵּה יִזְכֹּר אֶת־יְמֵי חַיָּיו כִּי הָאֱלֹהִים מַעֲנֶה בְּשִׂמְחַת לִבֹּו׃ |
| 6:1 Hay un mal que he visto debajo del cielo, y muy común entre los hombres: |
There is an evil which I have seen under the sun, and it is common among men: |
יֵשׁ רָעָה אֲשֶׁר רָאִיתִי תַּחַת הַשָּׁמֶשׁ וְרַבָּה הִיא עַל־הָאָדָם׃ |
| 6:2 El del hombre a quien Dios da riquezas y bienes y honra, y nada le falta de todo lo que su alma desea; pero Dios no le da facultad de disfrutar de ello, sino que lo disfrutan los extraños. Esto es vanidad, y mal doloroso. |
A man to whom God hath given riches, wealth, and honour, so that he wanteth nothing for his soul of all that he desireth, yet God giveth him not power to eat thereof, but a stranger eateth it: this is vanity, and it is an evil disease. |
אִישׁ אֲשֶׁר יִתֶּן־לֹו הָאֱלֹהִים עֹשֶׁר וּנְכָסִים וְכָבֹוד וְאֵינֶנּוּ חָסֵר לְנַפְשֹׁו מִכֹּל אֲשֶׁר־יִתְאַוֶּה וְלֹא־יַשְׁלִיטֶנּוּ הָאֱלֹהִים לֶאֱכֹל מִמֶּנּוּ כִּי אִישׁ נָכְרִי יֹאכֲלֶנּוּ זֶה הֶבֶל וָחֳלִי רָע הוּא׃ |
| 6:3 Aunque el hombre engendrare cien hijos, y viviere muchos años, y los días de su edad fueren numerosos; si su alma no se sació del bien, y también careció de sepultura, yo digo que un abortivo es mejor que él. |
If a man beget an hundred children, and live many years, so that the days of his years be many, and his soul be not filled with good, and also that he have no burial; I say, that an untimely birth is better than he. |
אִם־יֹולִיד אִישׁ מֵאָה וְשָׁנִים רַבֹּות יִחְיֶה וְרַב שֶׁיִּהְיוּ יְמֵי־שָׁנָיו וְנַפְשֹׁו לֹא־תִשְׂבַּע מִן־הַטֹּובָה וְגַם־קְבוּרָה לֹא־הָיְתָה לֹּו אָמַרְתִּי טֹוב מִמֶּנּוּ הַנָּפֶל׃ |
| 6:4 Porque éste en vano viene, y a las tinieblas va, y con tinieblas su nombre es cubierto. |
For he cometh in with vanity, and departeth in darkness, and his name shall be covered with darkness. |
כִּי־בַהֶבֶל בָּא וּבַחֹשֶׁךְ יֵלֵךְ וּבַחֹשֶׁךְ שְׁמֹו יְכֻסֶּה׃ |
| 6:5 Además, no ha visto el sol, ni lo ha conocido; más reposo tiene éste que aquél. |
Moreover he hath not seen the sun, nor known any thing: this hath more rest than the other. |
גַּם־שֶׁמֶשׁ לֹא־רָאָה וְלֹא יָדָע נַחַת לָזֶה מִזֶּה׃ |
| 6:6 Porque si aquél viviere mil años dos veces, sin gustar del bien, ¿no van todos al mismo lugar? |
Yea, though he live a thousand years twice told, yet hath he seen no good: do not all go to one place? |
וְאִלּוּ חָיָה אֶלֶף שָׁנִים פַּעֲמַיִם וְטֹובָה לֹא רָאָה הֲלֹא אֶל־מָקֹום אֶחָד הַכֹּל הֹולֵךְ׃ |
| 6:7 Todo el trabajo del hombre es para su boca, y con todo eso su deseo no se sacia. |
All the labour of man is for his mouth, and yet the appetite is not filled. |
כָּל־עֲמַל הָאָדָם לְפִיהוּ וְגַם־הַנֶּפֶשׁ לֹא תִמָּלֵא׃ |
| 6:8 Porque ¿qué más tiene el sabio que el necio? ¿Qué más tiene el pobre que supo caminar entre los vivos? |
For what hath the wise more than the fool? what hath the poor, that knoweth to walk before the living? |
כִּי מַה־יֹּותֵר לֶחָכָם מִן־הַכְּסִיל מַה־לֶּעָנִי יֹודֵעַ לַהֲלֹךְ נֶגֶד הַחַיִּים׃ |
| 6:9 Más vale vista de ojos que deseo que pasa. Y también esto es vanidad y aflicción de espíritu. |
Better is the sight of the eyes than the wandering of the desire: this is also vanity and vexation of spirit. |
טֹוב מַרְאֵה עֵינַיִם מֵהֲלָךְ־נָפֶשׁ גַּם־זֶה הֶבֶל וּרְעוּת רוּחַ׃ |
| 6:10 Respecto de lo que es, ya ha mucho que tiene nombre, y se sabe que es hombre y que no puede contender con Aquel que es más poderoso que él. |
That which hath been is named already, and it is known that it is man: neither may he contend with him that is mightier than he. |
מַה־שֶּׁהָיָה כְּבָר נִקְרָא שְׁמֹו וְנֹודָע אֲשֶׁר־הוּא אָדָם וְלֹא־יוּכַל לָדִין עִם [שֶׁהַתְקִיף כ] (שֶׁתַּקִּיף ק) מִמֶּנּוּ׃ |
| 6:11 Ciertamente las muchas palabras multiplican la vanidad. ¿Qué más tiene el hombre? |
Seeing there be many things that increase vanity, what is man the better? |
כִּי יֵשׁ־דְּבָרִים הַרְבֵּה מַרְבִּים הָבֶל מַה־יֹּתֵר לָאָדָם׃ |
| 6:12 Porque ¿quién sabe cuál es el bien del hombre en la vida, todos los días de la vida de su vanidad, los cuales él pasa como sombra? Porque ¿quién enseñará al hombre qué será después de él debajo del sol? |
For who knoweth what is good for man in this life, all the days of his vain life which he spendeth as a shadow? for who can tell a man what shall be after him under the sun? |
כִּי מִי־יֹודֵעַ מַה־טֹּוב לָאָדָם בַּחַיִּים מִסְפַּר יְמֵי־חַיֵּי הֶבְלֹו וְיַעֲשֵׂם כַּצֵּל אֲשֶׁר מִי־יַגִּיד לָאָדָם מַה־יִּהְיֶה אַחֲרָיו תַּחַת הַשָּׁמֶשׁ׃ |
| 7:1 Mejor es la buena fama que el buen ungüento; y mejor el día de la muerte que el día del nacimiento. |
A good name is better than precious ointment; and the day of death than the day of one's birth. |
טֹוב שֵׁם מִשֶּׁמֶן טֹוב וְיֹום הַמָּוֶת מִיֹּום הִוָּלְדֹו׃ |
| 7:2 Mejor es ir a la casa del luto que a la casa del banquete; porque aquello es el fin de todos los hombres, y el que vive lo pondrá en su corazón. |
It is better to go to the house of mourning, than to go to the house of feasting: for that is the end of all men; and the living will lay it to his heart. |
טֹוב לָלֶכֶת אֶל־בֵּית־אֵבֶל מִלֶּכֶת אֶל־בֵּית מִשְׁתֶּה בַּאֲשֶׁר הוּא סֹוף כָּל־הָאָדָם וְהַחַי יִתֵּן אֶל־לִבֹּו׃ |
| 7:3 Mejor es el pesar que la risa; porque con la tristeza del rostro se enmendará el corazón. |
Sorrow is better than laughter: for by the sadness of the countenance the heart is made better. |
טֹוב כַּעַס מִשְּׂחֹק כִּי־בְרֹעַ פָּנִים יִיטַב לֵב׃ |
| 7:4 El corazón de los sabios está en la casa del luto; mas el corazón de los insensatos, en la casa en que hay alegría. |
The heart of the wise is in the house of mourning; but the heart of fools is in the house of mirth. |
לֵב חֲכָמִים בְּבֵית אֵבֶל וְלֵב כְּסִילִים בְּבֵית שִׂמְחָה׃ |
| 7:5 Mejor es oír la reprensión del sabio que la canción de los necios. |
It is better to hear the rebuke of the wise, than for a man to hear the song of fools. |
טֹוב לִשְׁמֹעַ גַּעֲרַת חָכָם מֵאִישׁ שֹׁמֵעַ שִׁיר כְּסִילִים׃ |
| 7:6 Porque la risa del necio es como el estrépito de los espinos debajo de la olla. Y también esto es vanidad. |
For as the crackling of thorns under a pot, so is the laughter of the fool: this also is vanity. |
כִּי כְקֹול הַסִּירִים תַּחַת הַסִּיר כֵּן שְׂחֹק הַכְּסִיל וְגַם־זֶה הָבֶל׃ |
| 7:7 Ciertamente la opresión hace entontecer al sabio, y las dádivas corrompen el corazón. |
Surely oppression maketh a wise man mad; and a gift destroyeth the heart. |
כִּי הָעֹשֶׁק יְהֹולֵל חָכָם וִיאַבֵּד אֶת־לֵב מַתָּנָה׃ |
| 7:8 Mejor es el fin del negocio que su principio; mejor es el sufrido de espíritu que el altivo de espíritu. |
Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof: and the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit. |
טֹוב אַחֲרִית דָּבָר מֵרֵאשִׁיתֹו טֹוב אֶרֶךְ־רוּחַ מִגְּבַהּ־רוּחַ׃ |
| 7:9 No te apresures en tu espíritu a enojarte; porque el enojo reposa en el seno de los necios. |
Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry: for anger resteth in the bosom of fools. |
אַל־תְּבַהֵל בְּרוּחֲךָ לִכְעֹוס כִּי כַעַס בְּחֵיק כְּסִילִים יָנוּחַ׃ |
| 7:10 Nunca digas: ¿Cuál es la causa de que los tiempos pasados fueron mejores que estos? Porque nunca de esto preguntarás con sabiduría. |
Say not thou, What is the cause that the former days were better than these? for thou dost not inquire wisely concerning this. |
אַל־תֹּאמַר מֶה הָיָה שֶׁהַיָּמִים הָרִאשֹׁנִים הָיוּ טֹובִים מֵאֵלֶּה כִּי לֹא מֵחָכְמָה שָׁאַלְתָּ עַל־זֶה׃ |
| 7:11 Buena es la ciencia con herencia, y provechosa para los que ven el sol. |
Wisdom is good with an inheritance: and by it there is profit to them that see the sun. |
טֹובָה חָכְמָה עִם־נַחֲלָה וְיֹתֵר לְרֹאֵי הַשָּׁמֶשׁ׃ |
| 7:12 Porque escudo es la ciencia, y escudo es el dinero; mas la sabiduría excede, en que da vida a sus poseedores. |
For wisdom is a defence, and money is a defence: but the excellency of knowledge is, that wisdom giveth life to them that have it. |
כִּי בְּצֵל הַחָכְמָה בְּצֵל הַכָּסֶף וְיִתְרֹון דַּעַת הַחָכְמָה תְּחַיֶּה בְעָלֶיהָ׃ |
| 7:13 Mira la obra de Dios; porque ¿quién podrá enderezar lo que él torció? |
Consider the work of God: for who can make that straight, which he hath made crooked? |
רְאֵה אֶת־מַעֲשֵׂה הָאֱלֹהִים כִּי מִי יוּכַל לְתַקֵּן אֵת אֲשֶׁר עִוְּתֹו׃ |
| 7:14 En el día del bien goza del bien; y en el día de la adversidad considera. Dios hizo tanto lo uno como lo otro, a fin de que el hombre nada halle después de él. |
In the day of prosperity be joyful, but in the day of adversity consider: God also hath set the one over against the other, to the end that man should find nothing after him. |
בְּיֹום טֹובָה הֱיֵה בְטֹוב וּבְיֹום רָעָה רְאֵה גַּם אֶת־זֶה לְעֻמַּת־זֶה עָשָׂה הָאֱלֹהִים עַל־דִּבְרַת שֶׁלֹּא יִמְצָא הָאָדָם אַחֲרָיו מְאוּמָה׃ |
| 7:15 Todo esto he visto en los días de mi vanidad. Justo hay que perece por su justicia, y hay impío que por su maldad alarga sus días. |
All things have I seen in the days of my vanity: there is a just man that perisheth in his righteousness, and there is a wicked man that prolongeth his life in his wickedness. |
אֶת־הַכֹּל רָאִיתִי בִּימֵי הֶבְלִי יֵשׁ צַדִּיק אֹבֵד בְּצִדְקֹו וְיֵשׁ רָשָׁע מַאֲרִיךְ בְּרָעָתֹו׃ |
| 7:16 No seas demasiado justo, ni seas sabio con exceso; ¿por qué habrás de destruirte? |
Be not righteous over much; neither make thyself over wise: why shouldest thou destroy thyself? |
אַל־תְּהִי צַדִּיק הַרְבֵּה וְאַל־תִּתְחַכַּם יֹותֵר לָמָּה תִּשֹּׁומֵם׃ |
| 7:17 No hagas mucho mal, ni seas insensato; ¿por qué habrás de morir antes de tu tiempo? |
Be not over much wicked, neither be thou foolish: why shouldest thou die before thy time? |
אַל־תִּרְשַׁע הַרְבֵּה וְאַל־תְּהִי סָכָל לָמָּה תָמוּת בְּלֹא עִתֶּךָ׃ |
| 7:18 Bueno es que tomes esto, y también de aquello no apartes tu mano; porque aquel que a Dios teme, saldrá bien en todo. |
It is good that thou shouldest take hold of this; yea, also from this withdraw not thine hand: for he that feareth God shall come forth of them all. |
טֹוב אֲשֶׁר תֶּאֱחֹז בָּזֶה וְגַם־מִזֶּה אַל־תַּנַּח אֶת־יָדֶךָ כִּי־יְרֵא אֱלֹהִים יֵצֵא אֶת־כֻּלָּם׃ |
| 7:19 La sabiduría fortalece al sabio más que diez poderosos que haya en una ciudad. |
Wisdom strengtheneth the wise more than ten mighty men which are in the city. |
הַחָכְמָה תָּעֹז לֶחָכָם מֵעֲשָׂרָה שַׁלִּיטִים אֲשֶׁר הָיוּ בָּעִיר׃ |
| 7:20 Ciertamente no hay hombre justo en la tierra, que haga el bien y nunca peque. |
For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not. |
כִּי אָדָם אֵין צַדִּיק בָּאָרֶץ אֲשֶׁר יַעֲשֶׂה־טֹּוב וְלֹא יֶחֱטָא׃ |
| 7:21 Tampoco apliques tu corazón a todas las cosas que se hablan, para que no oigas a tu siervo cuando dice mal de ti; |
Also take no heed unto all words that are spoken; lest thou hear thy servant curse thee: |
גַּם לְכָל־הַדְּבָרִים אֲשֶׁר יְדַבֵּרוּ אַל־תִּתֵּן לִבֶּךָ אֲשֶׁר לֹא־תִשְׁמַע אֶת־עַבְדְּךָ מְקַלְלֶךָ׃ |
| 7:22 porque tu corazón sabe que tú también dijiste mal de otros muchas veces. |
For oftentimes also thine own heart knoweth that thou thyself likewise hast cursed others. |
כִּי גַּם־פְּעָמִים רַבֹּות יָדַע לִבֶּךָ אֲשֶׁר גַּם־ [אַתְּ כ] (אַתָּה ק) קִלַּלְתָּ אֲחֵרִים׃ |
| 7:23 Todas estas cosas probé con sabiduría, diciendo: Seré sabio; pero la sabiduría se alejó de mí. |
All this have I proved by wisdom: I said, I will be wise; but it was far from me. |
כָּל־זֹה נִסִּיתִי בַחָכְמָה אָמַרְתִּי אֶחְכָּמָה וְהִיא רְחֹוקָה מִמֶּנִּי׃ |
| 7:24 Lejos está lo que fue; y lo muy profundo, ¿quién lo hallará? |
That which is far off, and exceeding deep, who can find it out? |
רָחֹוק מַה־שֶּׁהָיָה וְעָמֹק עָמֹק מִי יִמְצָאֶנּוּ׃ |
| 7:25 Me volví y fijé mi corazón para saber y examinar e inquirir la sabiduría y la razón, y para conocer la maldad de la insensatez y el desvarío del error. |
I applied mine heart to know, and to search, and to seek out wisdom, and the reason of things, and to know the wickedness of folly, even of foolishness and madness: |
סַבֹּותִי אֲנִי וְלִבִּי לָדַעַת וְלָתוּר וּבַקֵּשׁ חָכְמָה וְחֶשְׁבֹּון וְלָדַעַת רֶשַׁע כֶּסֶל וְהַסִּכְלוּת הֹולֵלֹות׃ |
| 7:26 Y he hallado más amarga que la muerte a la mujer cuyo corazón es lazos y redes, y sus manos ligaduras. El que agrada a Dios escapará de ella; mas el pecador quedará en ella preso. |
And I find more bitter than death the woman, whose heart is snares and nets, and her hands as bands: whoso pleaseth God shall escape from her; but the sinner shall be taken by her. |
וּמֹוצֶא אֲנִי מַר מִמָּוֶת אֶת־הָאִשָּׁה אֲשֶׁר־הִיא מְצֹודִים וַחֲרָמִים לִבָּהּ אֲסוּרִים יָדֶיהָ טֹוב לִפְנֵי הָאֱלֹהִים יִמָּלֵט מִמֶּנָּה וְחֹוטֵא יִלָּכֶד בָּהּ׃ |
| 7:27 He aquí que esto he hallado, dice el Predicador, pesando las cosas una por una para hallar la razón; |
Behold, this have I found, saith the preacher, counting one by one, to find out the account: |
רְאֵה זֶה מָצָאתִי אָמְרָה קֹהֶלֶת אַחַת לְאַחַת לִמְצֹא חֶשְׁבֹּון׃ |
| 7:28 lo que aún busca mi alma, y no lo encuentra: un hombre entre mil he hallado, pero mujer entre todas éstas nunca hallé. |
Which yet my soul seeketh, but I find not: one man among a thousand have I found; but a woman among all those have I not found. |
אֲשֶׁר עֹוד־בִּקְשָׁה נַפְשִׁי וְלֹא מָצָאתִי אָדָם אֶחָד מֵאֶלֶף מָצָאתִי וְאִשָּׁה בְכָל־אֵלֶּה לֹא מָצָאתִי׃ |
| 7:29 He aquí, solamente esto he hallado: que Dios hizo al hombre recto, pero ellos buscaron muchas perversiones. |
Lo, this only have I found, that God hath made man upright; but they have sought out many inventions. |
לְבַד רְאֵה־זֶה מָצָאתִי אֲשֶׁר עָשָׂה הָאֱלֹהִים אֶת־הָאָדָם יָשָׁר וְהֵמָּה בִקְשׁוּ חִשְּׁבֹנֹות רַבִּים׃ |
| 8:1 ¿Quién como el sabio? ¿y quién como el que sabe la declaración de las cosas? La sabiduría del hombre ilumina su rostro, y la tosquedad de su semblante se mudará. |
Who is as the wise man? and who knoweth the interpretation of a thing? a man's wisdom maketh his face to shine, and the boldness of his face shall be changed. |
מִי כְּהֶחָכָם וּמִי יֹודֵעַ פֵּשֶׁר דָּבָר חָכְמַת אָדָם תָּאִיר פָּנָיו וְעֹז פָּנָיו יְשֻׁנֶּא׃ |
| 8:2 Te aconsejo que guardes el mandamiento del rey y la palabra del juramento de Dios. |
I counsel thee to keep the king's commandment, and that in regard of the oath of God. |
אֲנִי פִּי־מֶלֶךְ שְׁמֹור וְעַל דִּבְרַת שְׁבוּעַת אֱלֹהִים׃ |
| 8:3 No te apresures a irte de su presencia, ni en cosa mala persistas; porque él hará todo lo que quiere. |
Be not hasty to go out of his sight: stand not in an evil thing; for he doeth whatsoever pleaseth him. |
אַל־תִּבָּהֵל מִפָּנָיו תֵּלֵךְ אַל־תַּעֲמֹד בְּדָבָר רָע כִּי כָּל־אֲשֶׁר יַחְפֹּץ יַעֲשֶׂה׃ |
| 8:4 Pues la palabra del rey es con potestad, ¿y quién le dirá: ¿Qué haces? |
Where the word of a king is, there is power: and who may say unto him, What doest thou? |
בַּאֲשֶׁר דְּבַר־מֶלֶךְ שִׁלְטֹון וּמִי יֹאמַר־לֹו מַה־תַּעֲשֶׂה׃ |
| 8:5 El que guarda el mandamiento no experimentará mal; y el corazón del sabio discierne el tiempo y el juicio. |
Whoso keepeth the commandment shall feel no evil thing: and a wise man's heart discerneth both time and judgment. |
שֹׁומֵר מִצְוָה לֹא יֵדַע דָּבָר רָע וְעֵת וּמִשְׁפָּט יֵדַע לֵב חָכָם׃ |
| 8:6 Porque para todo lo que quisieres hay tiempo y juicio; porque el mal del hombre es grande sobre él; |
Because to every purpose there is time and judgment, therefore the misery of man is great upon him. |
כִּי לְכָל־חֵפֶץ יֵשׁ עֵת וּמִשְׁפָּט כִּי־רָעַת הָאָדָם רַבָּה עָלָיו׃ |
| 8:7 pues no sabe lo que ha de ser; y el cuándo haya de ser, ¿quién se lo enseñará? |
For he knoweth not that which shall be: for who can tell him when it shall be? |
כִּי־אֵינֶנּוּ יֹדֵעַ מַה־שֶּׁיִּהְיֶה כִּי כַּאֲשֶׁר יִהְיֶה מִי יַגִּיד לֹו׃ |
| 8:8 No hay hombre que tenga potestad sobre el espíritu para retener el espíritu, ni potestad sobre el día de la muerte; y no valen armas en tal guerra, ni la impiedad librará al que la posee. |
There is no man that hath power over the spirit to retain the spirit; neither hath he power in the day of death: and there is no discharge in that war; neither shall wickedness deliver those that are given to it. |
אֵין אָדָם שַׁלִּיט בָּרוּחַ לִכְלֹוא אֶת־הָרוּחַ וְאֵין שִׁלְטֹון בְּיֹום הַמָּוֶת וְאֵין מִשְׁלַחַת בַּמִּלְחָמָה וְלֹא־יְמַלֵּט רֶשַׁע אֶת־בְּעָלָיו׃ |
| 8:9 Todo esto he visto, y he puesto mi corazón en todo lo que debajo del sol se hace; hay tiempo en que el hombre se enseñorea del hombre para mal suyo. |
All this have I seen, and applied my heart unto every work that is done under the sun: there is a time wherein one man ruleth over another to his own hurt. |
אֶת־כָּל־זֶה רָאִיתִי וְנָתֹון אֶת־לִבִּי לְכָל־מַעֲשֶׂה אֲשֶׁר נַעֲשָׂה תַּחַת הַשָּׁמֶשׁ עֵת אֲשֶׁר שָׁלַט הָאָדָם בְּאָדָם לְרַע לֹו׃ |
| 8:10 Asimismo he visto a los inicuos sepultados con honra; mas los que frecuentaban el lugar santo fueron luego puestos en olvido en la ciudad donde habían actuado con rectitud. Esto también es vanidad. |
And so I saw the wicked buried, who had come and gone from the place of the holy, and they were forgotten in the city where they had so done: this is also vanity. |
וּבְכֵן רָאִיתִי רְשָׁעִים קְבֻרִים וָבָאוּ וּמִמְּקֹום קָדֹושׁ יְהַלֵּכוּ וְיִשְׁתַּכְּחוּ בָעִיר אֲשֶׁר כֵּן־עָשׂוּ גַּם־זֶה הָבֶל׃ |
| 8:11 Por cuanto no se ejecuta luego sentencia sobre la mala obra, el corazón de los hijos de los hombres está en ellos dispuesto para hacer el mal. |
Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil. |
אֲשֶׁר אֵין־נַעֲשָׂה פִתְגָם מַעֲשֵׂה הָרָעָה מְהֵרָה עַל־כֵּן מָלֵא לֵב בְּנֵי־הָאָדָם בָּהֶם לַעֲשֹׂות רָע׃ |
| 8:12 Aunque el pecador haga mal cien veces, y prolongue sus días, con todo yo también sé que les irá bien a los que a Dios temen, los que temen ante su presencia; |
Though a sinner do evil an hundred times, and his days be prolonged, yet surely I know that it shall be well with them that fear God, which fear before him: |
אֲשֶׁר חֹטֶא עֹשֶׂה רָע מְאַת וּמַאֲרִיךְ לֹו כִּי גַּם־יֹודֵעַ אָנִי אֲשֶׁר יִהְיֶה־טֹּוב לְיִרְאֵי הָאֱלֹהִים אֲשֶׁר יִירְאוּ מִלְּפָנָיו׃ |
| 8:13 y que no le irá bien al impío, ni le serán prolongados los días, que son como sombra; por cuanto no teme delante de la presencia de Dios. |
But it shall not be well with the wicked, neither shall he prolong his days, which are as a shadow; because he feareth not before God. |
וְטֹוב לֹא־יִהְיֶה לָרָשָׁע וְלֹא־יַאֲרִיךְ יָמִים כַּצֵּל אֲשֶׁר אֵינֶנּוּ יָרֵא מִלִּפְנֵי אֱלֹהִים׃ |
| 8:14 Hay vanidad que se hace sobre la tierra: que hay justos a quienes sucede como si hicieran obras de impíos, y hay impíos a quienes acontece como si hicieran obras de justos. Digo que esto también es vanidad. |
There is a vanity which is done upon the earth; that there be just men, unto whom it happeneth according to the work of the wicked; again, there be wicked men, to whom it happeneth according to the work of the righteous: I said that this also is vanity. |
יֶשׁ־הֶבֶל אֲשֶׁר נַעֲשָׂה עַל־הָאָרֶץ אֲשֶׁר יֵשׁ צַדִּיקִים אֲשֶׁר מַגִּיעַ אֲלֵהֶם כְּמַעֲשֵׂה הָרְשָׁעִים וְיֵשׁ רְשָׁעִים שֶׁמַּגִּיעַ אֲלֵהֶם כְּמַעֲשֵׂה הַצַּדִּיקִים אָמַרְתִּי שֶׁגַּם־זֶה הָבֶל׃ |
| 8:15 Por tanto, alabé yo la alegría; que no tiene el hombre bien debajo del sol, sino que coma y beba y se alegre; y que esto le quede de su trabajo los días de su vida que Dios le concede debajo del sol. |
Then I commended mirth, because a man hath no better thing under the sun, than to eat, and to drink, and to be merry: for that shall abide with him of his labour the days of his life, which God giveth him under the sun. |
וְשִׁבַּחְתִּי אֲנִי אֶת־הַשִּׂמְחָה אֲשֶׁר אֵין־טֹוב לָאָדָם תַּחַת הַשֶּׁמֶשׁ כִּי אִם־לֶאֱכֹול וְלִשְׁתֹּות וְלִשְׂמֹוחַ וְהוּא יִלְוֶנּוּ בַעֲמָלֹו יְמֵי חַיָּיו אֲשֶׁר־נָתַן־לֹו הָאֱלֹהִים תַּחַת הַשָּׁמֶשׁ׃ |
| 8:16 Yo, pues, dediqué mi corazón a conocer sabiduría, y a ver la faena que se hace sobre la tierra (porque hay quien ni de noche ni de día ve sueño en sus ojos); |
When I applied mine heart to know wisdom, and to see the business that is done upon the earth: (for also there is that neither day nor night seeth sleep with his eyes:) |
כַּאֲשֶׁר נָתַתִּי אֶת־לִבִּי לָדַעַת חָכְמָה וְלִרְאֹות אֶת־הָעִנְיָן אֲשֶׁר נַעֲשָׂה עַל־הָאָרֶץ כִּי גַם בַּיֹּום וּבַלַּיְלָה שֵׁנָה בְּעֵינָיו אֵינֶנּוּ רֹאֶה׃ |
| 8:17 y he visto todas las obras de Dios, que el hombre no puede alcanzar la obra que debajo del sol se hace; por mucho que trabaje el hombre buscándola, no la hallará; aunque diga el sabio que la conoce, no por eso podrá alcanzarla. |
Then I beheld all the work of God, that a man cannot find out the work that is done under the sun: because though a man labour to seek it out, yet he shall not find it; yea further; though a wise man think to know it, yet shall he not be able to find it. |
וְרָאִיתִי אֶת־כָּל־מַעֲשֵׂה הָאֱלֹהִים כִּי לֹא יוּכַל הָאָדָם לִמְצֹוא אֶת־הַמַּעֲשֶׂה אֲשֶׁר נַעֲשָׂה תַחַת־הַשֶּׁמֶשׁ בְּשֶׁל אֲשֶׁר יַעֲמֹל הָאָדָם לְבַקֵּשׁ וְלֹא יִמְצָא וְגַם אִם־יֹאמַר הֶחָכָם לָדַעַת לֹא יוּכַל לִמְצֹא׃ |
| 9:1 Ciertamente he dado mi corazón a todas estas cosas, para declarar todo esto: que los justos y los sabios, y sus obras, están en la mano de Dios; que sea amor o que sea odio, no lo saben los hombres; todo está delante de ellos. |
For all this I considered in my heart even to declare all this, that the righteous, and the wise, and their works, are in the hand of God: no man knoweth either love or hatred by all that is before them. |
כִּי אֶת־כָּל־זֶה נָתַתִּי אֶל־לִבִּי וְלָבוּר אֶת־כָּל־זֶה אֲשֶׁר הַצַּדִּיקִים וְהַחֲכָמִים וַעֲבָדֵיהֶם בְּיַד הָאֱלֹהִים גַּם־אַהֲבָה גַם־שִׂנְאָה אֵין יֹודֵעַ הָאָדָם הַכֹּל לִפְנֵיהֶם׃ |
| 9:2 Todo acontece de la misma manera a todos; un mismo suceso ocurre al justo y al impío; al bueno, al limpio y al no limpio; al que sacrifica, y al que no sacrifica; como al bueno, así al que peca; al que jura, como al que teme el juramento. |
All things come alike to all: there is one event to the righteous, and to the wicked; to the good and to the clean, and to the unclean; to him that sacrificeth, and to him that sacrificeth not: as is the good, so is the sinner; and he that sweareth, as he that feareth an oath. |
הַכֹּל כַּאֲשֶׁר לַכֹּל מִקְרֶה אֶחָד לַצַּדִּיק וְלָרָשָׁע לַטֹּוב וְלַטָּהֹור וְלַטָּמֵא וְלַזֹּבֵחַ וְלַאֲשֶׁר אֵינֶנּוּ זֹבֵחַ כַּטֹּוב כַּחֹטֶא הַנִּשְׁבָּע כַּאֲשֶׁר שְׁבוּעָה יָרֵא׃ |
| 9:3 Este mal hay entre todo lo que se hace debajo del sol, que un mismo suceso acontece a todos, y también que el corazón de los hijos de los hombres está lleno de mal y de insensatez en su corazón durante su vida; y después de esto se van a los muertos. |
This is an evil among all things that are done under the sun, that there is one event unto all: yea, also the heart of the sons of men is full of evil, and madness is in their heart while they live, and after that they go to the dead. |
זֶה רָע בְּכֹל אֲשֶׁר־נַעֲשָׂה תַּחַת הַשֶּׁמֶשׁ כִּי־מִקְרֶה אֶחָד לַכֹּל וְגַם לֵב בְּנֵי־הָאָדָם מָלֵא־רָע וְהֹולֵלֹות בִּלְבָבָם בְּחַיֵּיהֶם וְאַחֲרָיו אֶל־הַמֵּתִים׃ |
| 9:4 Aún hay esperanza para todo aquel que está entre los vivos; porque mejor es perro vivo que león muerto. |
For to him that is joined to all the living there is hope: for a living dog is better than a dead lion. |
כִּי־מִי אֲשֶׁר [יִבָּחֵר כ] (יְחֻבַּר ק) אֶל כָּל־הַחַיִּים יֵשׁ בִּטָּחֹון כִּי־לְכֶלֶב חַי הוּא טֹוב מִן־הָאַרְיֵה הַמֵּת׃ |
| 9:5 Porque los que viven saben que han de morir; pero los muertos nada saben, ni tienen más paga; porque su memoria es puesta en olvido. |
For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten. |
כִּי הַחַיִּים יֹודְעִים שֶׁיָּמֻתוּ וְהַמֵּתִים אֵינָם יֹודְעִים מְאוּמָה וְאֵין־עֹוד לָהֶם שָׂכָר כִּי נִשְׁכַּח זִכְרָם׃ |
| 9:6 También su amor y su odio y su envidia fenecieron ya; y nunca más tendrán parte en todo lo que se hace debajo del sol. |
Also their love, and their hatred, and their envy, is now perished; neither have they any more a portion for ever in any thing that is done under the sun. |
גַּם אַהֲבָתָם גַּם־שִׂנְאָתָם גַּם־קִנְאָתָם כְּבָר אָבָדָה וְחֵלֶק אֵין־לָהֶם עֹוד לְעֹולָם בְּכֹל אֲשֶׁר־נַעֲשָׂה תַּחַת הַשָּׁמֶשׁ׃ |
| 9:7 Anda, y come tu pan con gozo, y bebe tu vino con alegre corazón; porque tus obras ya son agradables a Dios. |
Go thy way, eat thy bread with joy, and drink thy wine with a merry heart; for God now accepteth thy works. |
לֵךְ אֱכֹל בְּשִׂמְחָה לַחְמֶךָ וּשֲׁתֵה בְלֶב־טֹוב יֵינֶךָ כִּי כְבָר רָצָה הָאֱלֹהִים אֶת־מַעֲשֶׂיךָ׃ |
| 9:8 En todo tiempo sean blancos tus vestidos, y nunca falte ungüento sobre tu cabeza. |
Let thy garments be always white; and let thy head lack no ointment. |
בְּכָל־עֵת יִהְיוּ בְגָדֶיךָ לְבָנִים וְשֶׁמֶן עַל־רֹאשְׁךָ אַל־יֶחְסָר׃ |
| 9:9 Goza de la vida con la mujer que amas, todos los días de la vida de tu vanidad que te son dados debajo del sol, todos los días de tu vanidad; porque esta es tu parte en la vida, y en tu trabajo con que te afanas debajo del sol. |
Live joyfully with the wife whom thou lovest all the days of the life of thy vanity, which he hath given thee under the sun, all the days of thy vanity: for that is thy portion in this life, and in thy labour which thou takest under the sun. |
רְאֵה חַיִּים עִם־אִשָּׁה אֲשֶׁר־אָהַבְתָּ כָּל־יְמֵי חַיֵּי הֶבְלֶךָ אֲשֶׁר נָתַן־לְךָ תַּחַת הַשֶּׁמֶשׁ כֹּל יְמֵי הֶבְלֶךָ כִּי הוּא חֶלְקְךָ בַּחַיִּים וּבַעֲמָלְךָ אֲשֶׁר־אַתָּה עָמֵל תַּחַת הַשָּׁמֶשׁ׃ |
| 9:10 Todo lo que te viniere a la mano para hacer, hazlo según tus fuerzas; porque en el Seol, adonde vas, no hay obra, ni trabajo, ni ciencia, ni sabiduría. |
Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest. |
כֹּל אֲשֶׁר תִּמְצָא יָדְךָ לַעֲשֹׂות בְּכֹחֲךָ עֲשֵׂה כִּי אֵין מַעֲשֶׂה וְחֶשְׁבֹּון וְדַעַת וְחָכְמָה בִּשְׁאֹול אֲשֶׁר אַתָּה הֹלֵךְ שָׁמָּה׃ ס |
| 9:11 Me volví y vi debajo del sol, que ni es de los ligeros la carrera, ni la guerra de los fuertes, ni aun de los sabios el pan, ni de los prudentes las riquezas, ni de los elocuentes el favor; sino que tiempo y ocasión acontecen a todos. |
I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all. |
שַׁבְתִּי וְרָאֹה תַחַת־הַשֶּׁמֶשׁ כִּי לֹא לַקַּלִּים הַמֵּרֹוץ וְלֹא לַגִּבֹּורִים הַמִּלְחָמָה וְגַם לֹא לַחֲכָמִים לֶחֶם וְגַם לֹא לַנְּבֹנִים עֹשֶׁר וְגַם לֹא לַיֹּדְעִים חֵן כִּי־עֵת וָפֶגַע יִקְרֶה אֶת־כֻּלָּם׃ |
| 9:12 Porque el hombre tampoco conoce su tiempo; como los peces que son presos en la mala red, y como las aves que se enredan en lazo, así son enlazados los hijos de los hombres en el tiempo malo, cuando cae de repente sobre ellos. |
For man also knoweth not his time: as the fishes that are taken in an evil net, and as the birds that are caught in the snare; so are the sons of men snared in an evil time, when it falleth suddenly upon them. |
כִּי גַּם לֹא־יֵדַע הָאָדָם אֶת־עִתֹּו כַּדָּגִים שֶׁנֶּאֱחָזִים בִּמְצֹודָה רָעָה וְכַצִּפֳּרִים הָאֲחֻזֹות בַּפָּח כָּהֵם יוּקָשִׁים בְּנֵי הָאָדָם לְעֵת רָעָה כְּשֶׁתִּפֹּול עֲלֵיהֶם פִּתְאֹם׃ |
| 9:13 También vi esta sabiduría debajo del sol, la cual me parece grande: |
This wisdom have I seen also under the sun, and it seemed great unto me: |
גַּם־זֹה רָאִיתִי חָכְמָה תַּחַת הַשָּׁמֶשׁ וּגְדֹולָה הִיא אֵלָי׃ |
| 9:14 una pequeña ciudad, y pocos hombres en ella; y viene contra ella un gran rey, y la asedia y levanta contra ella grandes baluartes; |
There was a little city, and few men within it; and there came a great king against it, and besieged it, and built great bulwarks against it: |
עִיר קְטַנָּה וַאֲנָשִׁים בָּהּ מְעָט וּבָא־אֵלֶיהָ מֶלֶךְ גָּדֹול וְסָבַב אֹתָהּ וּבָנָה עָלֶיהָ מְצֹודִים גְּדֹלִים׃ |
| 9:15 y se halla en ella un hombre pobre, sabio, el cual libra a la ciudad con su sabiduría; y nadie se acordaba de aquel hombre pobre. |
Now there was found in it a poor wise man, and he by his wisdom delivered the city; yet no man remembered that same poor man. |
וּמָצָא בָהּ אִישׁ מִסְכֵּן חָכָם וּמִלַּט־הוּא אֶת־הָעִיר בְּחָכְמָתֹו וְאָדָם לֹא זָכַר אֶת־הָאִישׁ הַמִּסְכֵּן הַהוּא׃ |
| 9:16 Entonces dije yo: Mejor es la sabiduría que la fuerza, aunque la ciencia del pobre sea menospreciada, y no sean escuchadas sus palabras. |
Then said I, Wisdom is better than strength: nevertheless the poor man's wisdom is despised, and his words are not heard. |
וְאָמַרְתִּי אָנִי טֹובָה חָכְמָה מִגְּבוּרָה וְחָכְמַת הַמִּסְכֵּן בְּזוּיָה וּדְבָרָיו אֵינָם נִשְׁמָעִים׃ |
| 9:17 Las palabras del sabio escuchadas en quietud, son mejores que el clamor del señor entre los necios. |
The words of wise men are heard in quiet more than the cry of him that ruleth among fools. |
דִּבְרֵי חֲכָמִים בְּנַחַת נִשְׁמָעִים מִזַּעֲקַת מֹושֵׁל בַּכְּסִילִים׃ |
| 9:18 Mejor es la sabiduría que las armas de guerra; pero un pecador destruye mucho bien. |
Wisdom is better than weapons of war: but one sinner destroyeth much good. |
טֹובָה חָכְמָה מִכְּלֵי קְרָב וְחֹוטֶא אֶחָד יְאַבֵּד טֹובָה הַרְבֵּה׃ |
| 10:1 Las moscas muertas hacen heder y dar mal olor al perfume del perfumista; así una pequeña locura, al que es estimado como sabio y honorable. |
Dead flies cause the ointment of the apothecary to send forth a stinking savour: so doth a little folly him that is in reputation for wisdom and honour. |
זְבוּבֵי מָוֶת יַבְאִישׁ יַבִּיעַ שֶׁמֶן רֹוקֵחַ יָקָר מֵחָכְמָה מִכָּבֹוד סִכְלוּת מְעָט׃ |
| 10:2 El corazón del sabio está a su mano derecha, mas el corazón del necio a su mano izquierda. |
A wise man's heart is at his right hand; but a fool's heart at his left. |
לֵב חָכָם לִימִינֹו וְלֵב כְּסִיל לִשְׂמֹאלֹו׃ |
| 10:3 Y aun mientras va el necio por el camino, le falta cordura, y va diciendo a todos que es necio. |
Yea also, when he that is a fool walketh by the way, his wisdom faileth him, and he saith to every one that he is a fool. |
וְגַם־בַּדֶּרֶךְ [כְּשֶׁהַסָּכָל כ] (כְּשֶׁסָּכָל ק) הֹלֵךְ לִבֹּו חָסֵר וְאָמַר לַכֹּל סָכָל הוּא׃ |
| 10:4 Si el espíritu del príncipe se exaltare contra ti, no dejes tu lugar; porque la mansedumbre hará cesar grandes ofensas. |
If the spirit of the ruler rise up against thee, leave not thy place; for yielding pacifieth great offences. |
אִם־רוּחַ הַמֹּושֵׁל תַּעֲלֶה עָלֶיךָ מְקֹומְךָ אַל־תַּנַּח כִּי מַרְפֵּא יַנִּיחַ חֲטָאִים גְּדֹולִים׃ |
| 10:5 Hay un mal que he visto debajo del sol, a manera de error emanado del príncipe: |
There is an evil which I have seen under the sun, as an error which proceedeth from the ruler: |
יֵשׁ רָעָה רָאִיתִי תַּחַת הַשָּׁמֶשׁ כִּשְׁגָגָה שֶׁיֹּצָא מִלִּפְנֵי הַשַּׁלִּיט׃ |
| 10:6 la necedad está colocada en grandes alturas, y los ricos están sentados en lugar bajo. |
Folly is set in great dignity, and the rich sit in low place. |
נִתַּן הַסֶּכֶל בַּמְּרֹומִים רַבִּים וַעֲשִׁירִים בַּשֵּׁפֶל יֵשֵׁבוּ׃ |
| 10:7 Vi siervos a caballo, y príncipes que andaban como siervos sobre la tierra. |
I have seen servants upon horses, and princes walking as servants upon the earth. |
רָאִיתִי עֲבָדִים עַל־סוּסִים וְשָׂרִים הֹלְכִים כַּעֲבָדִים עַל־הָאָרֶץ׃ |
| 10:8 El que hiciere hoyo caerá en él; y al que aportillare vallado, le morderá la serpiente. |
He that diggeth a pit shall fall into it; and whoso breaketh an hedge, a serpent shall bite him. |
חֹפֵר גּוּמָּץ בֹּו יִפֹּול וּפֹרֵץ גָּדֵר יִשְּׁכֶנּוּ נָחָשׁ׃ |
| 10:9 Quien corta piedras, se hiere con ellas; el que parte leña, en ello peligra. |
Whoso removeth stones shall be hurt therewith; and he that cleaveth wood shall be endangered thereby. |
מַסִּיעַ אֲבָנִים יֵעָצֵב בָּהֶם בֹּוקֵעַ עֵצִים יִסָּכֶן בָּם׃ |
| 10:10 Si se embotare el hierro, y su filo no fuere amolado, hay que añadir entonces más fuerza; pero la sabiduría es provechosa para dirigir. |
If the iron be blunt, and he do not whet the edge, then must he put to more strength: but wisdom is profitable to direct. |
אִם־קֵהָה הַבַּרְזֶל וְהוּא לֹא־פָנִים קִלְקַל וַחֲיָלִים יְגַבֵּר וְיִתְרֹון הַכְשֵׁיר חָכְמָה׃ |
| 10:11 Si muerde la serpiente antes de ser encantada, de nada sirve el encantador. |
Surely the serpent will bite without enchantment; and a babbler is no better. |
אִם־יִשֹּׁךְ הַנָּחָשׁ בְּלֹוא־לָחַשׁ וְאֵין יִתְרֹון לְבַעַל הַלָּשֹׁון׃ |
| 10:12 Las palabras de la boca del sabio son llenas de gracia, mas los labios del necio causan su propia ruina. |
The words of a wise man's mouth are gracious; but the lips of a fool will swallow up himself. |
דִּבְרֵי פִי־חָכָם חֵן וְשִׂפְתֹות כְּסִיל תְּבַלְּעֶנּוּ׃ |
| 10:13 El principio de las palabras de su boca es necedad; y el fin de su charla, nocivo desvarío. |
The beginning of the words of his mouth is foolishness: and the end of his talk is mischievous madness. |
תְּחִלַּת דִּבְרֵי־פִיהוּ סִכְלוּת וְאַחֲרִית פִּיהוּ הֹולֵלוּת רָעָה׃ |
| 10:14 El necio multiplica palabras, aunque no sabe nadie lo que ha de ser; ¿y quién le hará saber lo que después de él será? |
A fool also is full of words: a man cannot tell what shall be; and what shall be after him, who can tell him? |
וְהַסָּכָל יַרְבֶּה דְבָרִים לֹא־יֵדַע הָאָדָם מַה־שֶׁיִּהְיֶה וַאֲשֶׁר יִהְיֶה מֵאַחֲרָיו מִי יַגִּיד לֹו׃ |
| 10:15 El trabajo de los necios los fatiga; porque no saben por dónde ir a la ciudad. |
The labour of the foolish wearieth every one of them, because he knoweth not how to go to the city. |
עֲמַל הַכְּסִילִים תְּיַגְּעֶנּוּ אֲשֶׁר לֹא־יָדַע לָלֶכֶת אֶל־עִיר׃ |
| 10:16 ¡Ay de ti, tierra, cuando tu rey es muchacho, y tus príncipes banquetean de mañana! |
Woe to thee, O land, when thy king is a child, and thy princes eat in the morning! |
אִי־לָךְ אֶרֶץ שֶׁמַּלְכֵּךְ נָעַר וְשָׂרַיִךְ בַּבֹּקֶר יֹאכֵלוּ׃ |
| 10:17 ¡Bienaventurada tú, tierra, cuando tu rey es hijo de nobles, y tus príncipes comen a su hora, para reponer sus fuerzas y no para beber! |
Blessed art thou, O land, when thy king is the son of nobles, and thy princes eat in due season, for strength, and not for drunkenness! |
אַשְׁרֵיךְ אֶרֶץ שֶׁמַּלְכֵּךְ בֶּן־חֹורִים וְשָׂרַיִךְ בָּעֵת יֹאכֵלוּ בִּגְבוּרָה וְלֹא בַשְּׁתִי׃ |
| 10:18 Por la pereza se cae la techumbre, y por la flojedad de las manos se llueve la casa. |
By much slothfulness the building decayeth; and through idleness of the hands the house droppeth through. |
בַּעֲצַלְתַּיִם יִמַּךְ הַמְּקָרֶה וּבְשִׁפְלוּת יָדַיִם יִדְלֹף הַבָּיִת׃ |
| 10:19 Por el placer se hace el banquete, y el vino alegra a los vivos; y el dinero sirve para todo. |
A feast is made for laughter, and wine maketh merry: but money answereth all things. |
לִשְׂחֹוק עֹשִׂים לֶחֶם וְיַיִן יְשַׂמַּח חַיִּים וְהַכֶּסֶף יַעֲנֶה אֶת־הַכֹּל׃ |
| 10:20 Ni aun en tu pensamiento digas mal del rey, ni en lo secreto de tu cámara digas mal del rico; porque las aves del cielo llevarán la voz, y las que tienen alas harán saber la palabra. |
Curse not the king, no not in thy thought; and curse not the rich in thy bedchamber: for a bird of the air shall carry the voice, and that which hath wings shall tell the matter. |
גַּם בְּמַדָּעֲךָ מֶלֶךְ אַל־תְּקַלֵּל וּבְחַדְרֵי מִשְׁכָּבְךָ אַל־תְּקַלֵּל עָשִׁיר כִּי עֹוף הַשָּׁמַיִם יֹולִיךְ אֶת־הַקֹּול וּבַעַל [הַכְּנָפַיִם כ] (כְּנָפַיִם ק) יַגֵּיד דָּבָר׃ |
| 11:1 Echa tu pan sobre las aguas; porque después de muchos días lo hallarás. |
Cast thy bread upon the waters: for thou shalt find it after many days. |
שַׁלַּח לַחְמְךָ עַל־פְּנֵי הַמָּיִם כִּי־בְרֹב הַיָּמִים תִּמְצָאֶנּוּ׃ |
| 11:2 Reparte a siete, y aun a ocho; porque no sabes el mal que vendrá sobre la tierra. |
Give a portion to seven, and also to eight; for thou knowest not what evil shall be upon the earth. |
תֶּן־חֵלֶק לְשִׁבְעָה וְגַם לִשְׁמֹונָה כִּי לֹא תֵדַע מַה־יִּהְיֶה רָעָה עַל־הָאָרֶץ׃ |
| 11:3 Si las nubes fueren llenas de agua, sobre la tierra la derramarán; y si el árbol cayere al sur, o al norte, en el lugar que el árbol cayere, allí quedará. |
If the clouds be full of rain, they empty themselves upon the earth: and if the tree fall toward the south, or toward the north, in the place where the tree falleth, there it shall be. |
אִם־יִמָּלְאוּ הֶעָבִים גֶּשֶׁם עַל־הָאָרֶץ יָרִיקוּ וְאִם־יִפֹּול עֵץ בַּדָּרֹום וְאִם בַּצָּפֹון מְקֹום שֶׁיִּפֹּול הָעֵץ שָׁם יְהוּא׃ |
| 11:4 El que al viento observa, no sembrará; y el que mira a las nubes, no segará. |
He that observeth the wind shall not sow; and he that regardeth the clouds shall not reap. |
שֹׁמֵר רוּחַ לֹא יִזְרָע וְרֹאֶה בֶעָבִים לֹא יִקְצֹור׃ |
| 11:5 Como tú no sabes cuál es el camino del viento, o cómo crecen los huesos en el vientre de la mujer encinta, así ignoras la obra de Dios, el cual hace todas las cosas. |
As thou knowest not what is the way of the spirit, nor how the bones do grow in the womb of her that is with child: even so thou knowest not the works of God who maketh all. |
כַּאֲשֶׁר אֵינְךָ יֹודֵעַ מַה־דֶּרֶךְ הָרוּחַ כַּעֲצָמִים בְּבֶטֶן הַמְּלֵאָה כָּכָה לֹא תֵדַע אֶת־מַעֲשֵׂה הָאֱלֹהִים אֲשֶׁר יַעֲשֶׂה אֶת־הַכֹּל׃ |
| 11:6 Por la mañana siembra tu semilla, y a la tarde no dejes reposar tu mano; porque no sabes cuál es lo mejor, si esto o aquello, o si lo uno y lo otro es igualmente bueno. |
In the morning sow thy seed, and in the evening withhold not thine hand: for thou knowest not whether shall prosper, either this or that, or whether they both shall be alike good. |
בַּבֹּקֶר זְרַע אֶת־זַרְעֶךָ וְלָעֶרֶב אַל־תַּנַּח יָדֶךָ כִּי אֵינְךָ יֹודֵע אֵי זֶה יִכְשָׁר הֲזֶה אֹו־זֶה וְאִם־שְׁנֵיהֶם כְּאֶחָד טֹובִים׃ |
| 11:7 Suave ciertamente es la luz, y agradable a los ojos ver el sol; |
Truly the light is sweet, and a pleasant thing it is for the eyes to behold the sun: |
וּמָתֹוק הָאֹור וְטֹוב לַעֵינַיִם לִרְאֹות אֶת־הַשָּׁמֶשׁ׃ |
| 11:8 pero aunque un hombre viva muchos años, y en todos ellos tenga gozo, acuérdese sin embargo que los días de las tinieblas serán muchos. Todo cuanto viene es vanidad. |
But if a man live many years, and rejoice in them all; yet let him remember the days of darkness; for they shall be many. All that cometh is vanity. |
כִּי אִם־שָׁנִים הַרְבֵּה יִחְיֶה הָאָדָם בְּכֻלָּם יִשְׂמָח וְיִזְכֹּר אֶת־יְמֵי הַחֹשֶׁךְ כִּי־הַרְבֵּה יִהְיוּ כָּל־שֶׁבָּא הָבֶל׃ |
| 11:9 Alégrate, joven, en tu juventud, y tome placer tu corazón en los días de tu adolescencia; y anda en los caminos de tu corazón y en la vista de tus ojos; pero sabe, que sobre todas estas cosas te juzgará Dios. |
Rejoice, O young man, in thy youth; and let thy heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth, and walk in the ways of thine heart, and in the sight of thine eyes: but know thou, that for all these things God will bring thee into judgment. |
שְׂמַח בָּחוּר בְּיַלְדוּתֶיךָ וִיטִיבְךָ לִבְּךָ בִּימֵי בְחוּרֹותֶךָ וְהַלֵּךְ בְּדַרְכֵי לִבְּךָ וּבְמַרְאֵי עֵינֶיךָ וְדָע כִּי עַל־כָּל־אֵלֶּה יְבִיאֲךָ הָאֱלֹהִים בַּמִּשְׁפָּט׃ |
| 11:10 Quita, pues, de tu corazón el enojo, y aparta de tu carne el mal; porque la adolescencia y la juventud son vanidad. |
Therefore remove sorrow from thy heart, and put away evil from thy flesh: for childhood and youth are vanity. |
וְהָסֵר כַּעַס מִלִּבֶּךָ וְהַעֲבֵר רָעָה מִבְּשָׂרֶךָ כִּי־הַיַּלְדוּת וְהַשַּׁחֲרוּת הָבֶל׃ |
| 12:1 Acuérdate de tu Creador en los días de tu juventud, antes que vengan los días malos, y lleguen los años de los cuales digas: No tengo en ellos contentamiento; |
Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them; |
וּזְכֹר אֶת־בֹּורְאֶיךָ בִּימֵי בְּחוּרֹתֶיךָ עַד אֲשֶׁר לֹא־יָבֹאוּ יְמֵי הָרָעָה וְהִגִּיעוּ שָׁנִים אֲשֶׁר תֹּאמַר אֵין־לִי בָהֶם חֵפֶץ׃ |
| 12:2 antes que se oscurezca el sol, y la luz, y la luna y las estrellas, y vuelvan las nubes tras la lluvia; |
While the sun, or the light, or the moon, or the stars, be not darkened, nor the clouds return after the rain: |
עַד אֲשֶׁר לֹא־תֶחְשַׁךְ הַשֶּׁמֶשׁ וְהָאֹור וְהַיָּרֵחַ וְהַכֹּוכָבִים וְשָׁבוּ הֶעָבִים אַחַר הַגָּשֶׁם׃ |
| 12:3 cuando temblarán los guardas de la casa, y se encorvarán los hombres fuertes, y cesarán las muelas porque han disminuido, y se oscurecerán los que miran por las ventanas; |
In the day when the keepers of the house shall tremble, and the strong men shall bow themselves, and the grinders cease because they are few, and those that look out of the windows be darkened, |
בַּיֹּום שֶׁיָּזֻעוּ שֹׁמְרֵי הַבַּיִת וְהִתְעַוְּתוּ אַנְשֵׁי הֶחָיִל וּבָטְלוּ הַטֹּחֲנֹות כִּי מִעֵטוּ וְחָשְׁכוּ הָרֹאֹות בָּאֲרֻבֹּות׃ |
| 12:4 y las puertas de afuera se cerrarán, por lo bajo del ruido de la muela; cuando se levantará a la voz del ave, y todas las hijas del canto serán abatidas; |
And the doors shall be shut in the streets, when the sound of the grinding is low, and he shall rise up at the voice of the bird, and all the daughters of musick shall be brought low; |
וְסֻגְּרוּ דְלָתַיִם בַּשּׁוּק בִּשְׁפַל קֹול הַטַּחֲנָה וְיָקוּם לְקֹול הַצִּפֹּור וְיִשַּׁחוּ כָּל־בְּנֹות הַשִּׁיר׃ |
| 12:5 cuando también temerán de lo que es alto, y habrá terrores en el camino; y florecerá el almendro, y la langosta será una carga, y se perderá el apetito; porque el hombre va a su morada eterna, y los endechadores andarán alrededor por las calles; |
Also when they shall be afraid of that which is high, and fears shall be in the way, and the almond tree shall flourish, and the grasshopper shall be a burden, and desire shall fail: because man goeth to his long home, and the mourners go about the streets: |
גַּם מִגָּבֹהַּ יִרָאוּ וְחַתְחַתִּים בַּדֶּרֶךְ וְיָנֵאץ הַשָּׁקֵד וְיִסְתַּבֵּל הֶחָגָב וְתָפֵר הָאֲבִיֹּונָה כִּי־הֹלֵךְ הָאָדָם אֶל־בֵּית עֹולָמֹו וְסָבְבוּ בַשּׁוּק הַסֹּפְדִים׃ |
| 12:6 antes que la cadena de plata se quiebre, y se rompa el cuenco de oro, y el cántaro se quiebre junto a la fuente, y la rueda sea rota sobre el pozo; |
Or ever the silver cord be loosed, or the golden bowl be broken, or the pitcher be broken at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the cistern. |
עַד אֲשֶׁר לֹא־ [יִרחַק כ] (יֵרָתֵק ק) חֶבֶל הַכֶּסֶף וְתָרֻץ גֻּלַּת הַזָּהָב וְתִשָּׁבֶר כַּד עַל־הַמַּבּוּעַ וְנָרֹץ הַגַּלְגַּל אֶל־הַבֹּור׃ |
| 12:7 y el polvo vuelva a la tierra, como era, y el espíritu vuelva a Dios que lo dio. |
Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it. |
וְיָשֹׁב הֶעָפָר עַל־הָאָרֶץ כְּשֶׁהָיָה וְהָרוּחַ תָּשׁוּב אֶל־הָאֱלֹהִים אֲשֶׁר נְתָנָהּ׃ |
| 12:8 Vanidad de vanidades, dijo el Predicador, todo es vanidad. |
Vanity of vanities, saith the preacher; all is vanity. |
הֲבֵל הֲבָלִים אָמַר הַקֹּוהֶלֶת הַכֹּל הָבֶל׃ |
| 12:9 Y cuanto más sabio fue el Predicador, tanto más enseñó sabiduría al pueblo; e hizo escuchar, e hizo escudriñar, y compuso muchos proverbios. |
And moreover, because the preacher was wise, he still taught the people knowledge; yea, he gave good heed, and sought out, and set in order many proverbs. |
וְיֹתֵר שֶׁהָיָה קֹהֶלֶת חָכָם עֹוד לִמַּד־דַּעַת אֶת־הָעָם וְאִזֵּן וְחִקֵּר תִּקֵּן מְשָׁלִים הַרְבֵּה׃ |
| 12:10 Procuró el Predicador hallar palabras agradables, y escribir rectamente palabras de verdad. |
The preacher sought to find out acceptable words: and that which was written was upright, even words of truth. |
בִּקֵּשׁ קֹהֶלֶת לִמְצֹא דִּבְרֵי־חֵפֶץ וְכָתוּב יֹשֶׁר דִּבְרֵי אֱמֶת׃ |
| 12:11 Las palabras de los sabios son como aguijones; y como clavos hincados son las de los maestros de las congregaciones, dadas por un Pastor. |
The words of the wise are as goads, and as nails fastened by the masters of assemblies, which are given from one shepherd. |
דִּבְרֵי חֲכָמִים כַּדָּרְבֹנֹות וּכְמַשְׂמְרֹות נְטוּעִים בַּעֲלֵי אֲסֻפֹּות נִתְּנוּ מֵרֹעֶה אֶחָד׃ |
| 12:12 Ahora, hijo mío, a más de esto, sé amonestado. No hay fin de hacer muchos libros; y el mucho estudio es fatiga de la carne. |
And further, by these, my son, be admonished: of making many books there is no end; and much study is a weariness of the flesh. |
וְיֹתֵר מֵהֵמָּה בְּנִי הִזָּהֵר עֲשֹׂות סְפָרִים הַרְבֵּה אֵין קֵץ וְלַהַג הַרְבֵּה יְגִעַת בָּשָׂר׃ |
| 12:13 El fin de todo el discurso oído es este: Teme a Dios, y guarda sus mandamientos; porque esto es el todo del hombre. |
Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. |
סֹוף דָּבָר הַכֹּל נִשְׁמָע אֶת־הָאֱלֹהִים יְרָא וְאֶת־מִצְוֹתָיו שְׁמֹור כִּי־זֶה כָּל־הָאָדָם׃ |
| 12:14 Porque Dios traerá toda obra a juicio, juntamente con toda cosa encubierta, sea buena o sea mala. |
For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil. |
כִּי אֶת־כָּל־מַעֲשֶׂה הָאֱלֹהִים יָבִא בְמִשְׁפָּט עַל כָּל־נֶעְלָם אִם־טֹוב וְאִם־רָע׃ |
